great! - Edit
Server very knowledable about vegan options, plus the menu has vegan options clearly listed. Loved the vegan smoked gouda cheese! Was happy to pay more for good quality vegan eats!

Decent Burger Joint - Edit
Love that Harper's offers vegan burger options! I got the V Classic with vegan cheese and a side of waffle fries. They have a few other vegan options including tacos which is pretty cool. The burger was pretty good but honestly a pretty standard vegan burger--nothing too special. It's cool to see a restaurant that has vegan cheese and burger sauce, but wish some of the vegan options were a little more creative and diverse.

Chickpea Patty is gone! But... - Edit
An aspiring, beginner Vegan(ist)/Vegetarian, I always got the Chickpea patty at Harper's Burger Bar once I tried it the first time - no matter what burger combination (bun, toppings, etc), I chose.
Read moreThen, I assume, because Harper's decided to offer the Beyond Meat patty (and entered into a contract with the company?) Harper's no longer offers or makes the Chickpea patty.
I've tried their Portobello cap, and thought it was awful, in taste and texture. The Sol Veggie patty has nothing on the Chickpea, or meat patties. I ate Beyond Meat patties, both from stores, fast-food places, and Harper's once, to give them a fair chance, with buns, lettuce, and various toppings.
Beyond Meat is okay, but for a place offering as excellent, varied, unique, and tasty food options as Harper's Burger Bar always has and is known for, both meat and vegan options, the yummy sides, their vegetable ingredients, and drinks, I'd expect a better main vegan patty option - which to me, the Chickpea patty offering was. It was superior.
Harper's isn't A&W. I can see fast-food joints having the Beyond Meat patties. Fast service is expected, not necessarily a succulent experience.
Harper's Chickpea patty, to me, had the texture of mashed potatoes inside, and was crispy on the outside. The seasoning alone that must have been used...the patty was unique in flavor and taste; I've *never had* a Chickpea patty like it, before or since.
I've searched for good Chickpea patties. I've made my own. I've tried to replicate Harper's version, with no success.
I stopped eating from Harper's Burger Bar after their Chickpea patty was no longer offered.
The sweet potato fries are wonderfully seasoned! If you're a carnivore, *you must eat here.*
*If you're not, you must eat at Harper's, anyway, at least twice.*
There are those who really enjoy the Beyond Meat patty option at Harper's, and elsewhere. Harper's vegan sauces and related plant-based options and vegetable ingredients, are great: Avocado, HBB, Arugula, Spinach...
I just wish I knew how Harpers's made, seasoned, and cooked the Chickpea patty they used to have on the menu, so I could make it at home! I miss it that much.
Better yet, I wish Harper's would offer it permanently again. The Chickpea patty was classic!
Pros: Wonderful environment, Dedicated to taste and savory food, The salads, plant sauces
Cons: Discontinued the amazing Chickpea patty!!, Lack of vegan dessert options

Best Burger Ever!!! - Edit
This meal was during a lockdown so takeout was our only option. I was going to be busy when it needed to be picked up so went in early to pay and order so someone could pick it up later. The menu has vegan burgers, buns, toppings and sides very clearly marked. And they have soooo many interesting choices. The staff was extremely knowledgeable about a vegan diet and even knew some extra items that weren’t on the menu-like vegan cheddar. We had a burger with cheese, sauce, balsamic onions and mushrooms. Amazing!

Two options for vegan burgers here, and even a vegan cheese option for topping! The staff understand dietary restrictions and seem happy to accommodate diners.

Delicious Chickpea Burger! - Edit
I have got to say that this was the tastiest chickpea burger I have ever had. The best part is they give you two chickpea patties! It's a huge burger! Giving it a 4 because it isn't very vegan-friendly.

Tasty chickpea burger - Edit
My husband and I stopped here on our way to Quebec and were pretty pleased with the burgers we got. We loved that you could customize them and that vegan options were clearly marked on the menu. I found the burger a little bit dry, but overall enjoyed it. Was bummed that they were out of vegan cheese when we went.

Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff. - Edit
Although a little pricey, the meal was quite good. The waitress really helped us out with all the options they had. We had the vegan sandwich, which was really good, and the chickpea burger and the portobello cap burger. The coleslaw is vegan and really good. Overall we enjoyed our meal and would happily go back.

Meh - Edit
Harper's is your standard meat place, though they have a couple vegan offerings. Unfortunately, they aren't that great and they definitely aren't cheap.
Read moreIt's the kind of place where a vegan might be dragged by non-vegan friends. Sure, you can eat something but otherwise I wouldn't bother.
Cons: Expensive

burger is good but... - Edit
DO NOT GET FRIES! They are deep fried along with chicken and other meats. It's completely beyond me why they can't fry separately. Huge disappointment. Also means fries are NOT gluten free friendly. The caramelized onion/mushroom burger is decent.
