Vegan restaurant, opened summer 2013. Has a living-kitchen concept with a daily changing menu and various desserts. Previously at Lappenbergsallee, opened at new address from May 2017. Close to U3 Feldstraße.
Note May 2020: open for takeaway and outdoor dining, see Facebook page for weekly hours. Open Tue-Fri 12:00-22:00, Sat 11:00-22:00, Sun 11:00-17:00.
Kitchen closes between 4-6pm.

Cute place and delicious sandwiches - Edit
This little restaurant has a small all vegan menue with changing meals. When we were there they had 3 diffrent sandwiches and two quiches with salat in the savory section. They also had sweet stuff like cake and coffee. The sandwiches are unexpectedly huge and very delicious. Staff is very friendly. I would definitely come back

Happenpappen is a sweet little restaurant with a daily changing menu. They offer many gluten-free options and tasty vegan cakes. Some things are quite affordable, but many seemed a bit pricey . The staff was very nice and the atmosphere was just very harmonic and comfortable. Definitely worth a visit!

I got my meal very fast, it was very very filling, almost couldn't finish it, the staff is very friendly and it is very well decorated. Also im a tourist from Slovenia and German prices are a bit high for me, but for their standards it was a pretty good price for such a meal. (i ordered dal bowl for 14. 50€),😄i definitely recommend, one of the best salads I've ever had

After having read the previous reviews I might have set the bar too high. Arrived starving and was recommended the salad and promised it would make me full. Unfortunately I was wasn't that impressed and easily could have eaten more.

Maybe it was just the daily menu, I will give it another try again. Or simply choose something with carbs!

Hausgemachtes und leckeres Essen! Eine überschaubare Karte, die täglich wechselt und selbst gebackene Kuchen. Vieles glutenfrei (möglich). Teilweise nicht ganz günstig und manchmal recht lange Wartezeiten - aber durch die Pandemie fehlt wohl Personal. Die Mitarbeiter*innen sind ansonsten super freundlich!

Auf ein richtiges essen hätten wir 30 Minuten warten müssen. Wir haben uns dann für Kuchen entschieden. Speisekarten gibt es nur digital, auch auf Nachfrage bekommt man kein Papier (gibt es gar nicht!). Der Kuchen war durchschnittlich und die Auswahl leider sehr begrenzt. Es gab drei Kuchen, davon zwei mit Bananengeschmack und einen möhrenkuchen, der so aussah, als hätte ihn jemand aus der reformhausbewegung der neunziger Jahre gebacken. Der schokobananenkuchen war allerdings OK und die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und bemüht.

Bei schönem Wetter, kann man super draußen sitzen. Sehr große Empfehlung sind hier die Sandwiches, diese sind wirklich groß und machen auf jeden Fall satt. Belegt war das Clubsandwich mit Sojasteaks, einfach lecker. Preislich ebenfalls dafür super!

Cute and friendly little gem close to St Pauli stadium - Edit
I very much enjoyed the experience eating here. The Happy Cow directions seemed to lead me to the station nearby not the restaurant itself but it's on the Main Street and the street numbers are visibly enough to find it once you're there. The menu is only in German but the servers were able to help me in English. The I had the quiche with salad which was piled high and very fresh and tasty. I saw other people's food coming out (mostly different sandwiches with salad) and those looked good too. Also some very nice desserts.

Sowohl die hausgemachten Sandwiches und Gemüse Quiche sind so lecker! Die selbstgemachte Limonaden sind ebenfalls lecker. Es fällt einem nicht immer leicht sich zu entscheiden, weil alles so lecker klingt.

Had a great brunch at Happenpappen. The staff are very friendly and the sandwiches delicious. My husband and I shared a Nocado and Tempeh sandwich, which were reasonably large and fresh. Definitely recommended. I had my eye on some cake but unfortunately we had a train to catch.
