well.. My friend and I hadvthe vegan saitan steak and the potato dumplings. it was okay but too much and not very special if I'm honest. Unfortunately the vegan options weren't really clear on the menu.

Small portions & bland - Edit
Very small portions for the high prices. Food tastes rather bland, could make use of some more & better seasoning.

Traditional Slovene food, but vegetarian! - Edit
Congrats to this "traditional food" restaurant for going all vegetarian! Quite a step! I heard about this place on the Free Walking Tour, so it's apparently THE place to go if you want to try traditional food. I had the borgrač (the Slovene goulash soup) and a plate of dödöle (baked potato-based dumplings). Both were good! Didn't ask about vegan dessert options, because I was too full afterwards.😄

Tasty and good portion size - Edit
The vegan sharing starter with vegan ‘cold meats and pâté/spreads was delicious. I had buckwheat and mushroom main was decent too and a big portion size. My partner had a vegan ‘steak’ with “really nice” traditional Slovenian potatoes.

Good traditional food - Edit
Güjžina offer a large menu where many vegetarian dishes can be made vegan, it can get confusing. The food is great, a bit expensive, but it's the only place in the city to eat traditional dishes made vegan, it's still a must-try when visiting Ljubljana.

Tasty and creative traditional food - Edit
I got a stew with veggies, croutons and “chicken” pieces which was delicious, plus their “light” salad with beets and vegan feta cheese.
Read moreThey have a menu that changes daily, it features the traditional slovenian dish of the day (paprikas, ricet, jota, boranja, etc.) that you can get in 0.3L or 0.5L size for around 6-9€. The menu stays the same every week.
Prices for soups, salads and sandwiches are very reasonable (around 5-7€ for most items). There’s usually also a daily special which costs a bit more.
They also have veganized versions of traditional slovenian desserts. Great location close to the town hall.
Outdoor and indoor seating (but not a lot).

Confusing to find - Edit
There are apparently two restaurants next to each other that work toghether. We were a bit confused because there was no staff in the Green One Bistro and we couldn't figure out which tables belong to which restaurant. Then we found out that they work toghether and have a common menu.

Traditional Slowenien Food Veganized - Edit
I can definitely recommend this place for a sample of traditional Slovenian food. Everything what we had was delicious. Better to come with an empty stomach: although the portions don’t seem to be huge, the food is quite substantial. ;)

I was suprised that the restaurant switched to vegan/vegetarian last year. We visited it twice and it was really tasty and they had a big card. Some dishes contain cheese but the most is vegan, also the cream, mentioned in some dishes, is vegan.

Unfortunately, I found the bograč a bit bland, though they definitely nailed the texture of the "meat." Might have to give this place another try sometime.

Just incredibly awful! - Edit
I cannot understand how this place has such a good reputation! The starters came half frozen, the main dish was so boring and stale and to top it off the desert was so old, tasted like mold, I had to spit it out. I would give zero stars but I can't.

Incredible Traditional Vegan Food with Affordable Prices - Edit
It is difficult to find affordable vegan traditional Slovenian food in Ljubljana, but Gűjžina offers just that. It's located in the heart of the old center but its prices and selection outdo all the other places that claim to have "vegan" specialities. The staff is nice and offers a bottle of pumpkin seed oil with bread as an appetizer, is helpful when you're interested in the wine selection, and knows which dishes are 100% vegan and which ones are vegetarian. I've tried their vegan dodole many times (potato dumplings), had an appetizer of vegan butters with fresh bread (and pumpkin seed oil, duh), gnnochi with porcini sauce, and buckwheat with seitan. All of their food tastes homemade and wholesome and will make you feel happy and fuzzy and warm on the inside. I highly recommend this place!

Food was ok, staff was not - Edit
I came here with some friends and we were very disappointed, since all the reviews seemed so good. We had the borac and the turnips soup (both very good), the dodole (they were ok, nothing special), a vegan steak (terrible) and a salad with vegan smoked ham (the smoked ham was very good, the salad meh)... It definitely was not the best vegan food we ever had and 15 euros for that vegan steak is crazy. The place is very pricy and the staff was very rude to us, I will not reccomend.
