High culinary experience! Slovenian traditional dishes - vegan. - Edit
Best vegan restaurant in Slovenia - hands down! I've been coming back and they always deliver amazing results, which is what sets apart a mediocre from a good restaurant.
Read moreThey do more than justice to traditional Slovenian dishes, which are veganised (some vegetarian options can be made vegan).
Bring your non vegan friends and family, and they definitely won't miss meat or dairy - heck, they won't even believe that everything is vegan.
Only complaint goes to the sausages which are a great and innovative attempt - they hit the spot on the taste but fail in the structure.
Some main dishes are a bit bigger than others, but with an apetizer, salad and a dessert you will be more than full in the end.
They use wheat gluten meat, so most of the food is not gluten free. But everything is soy free, even the deserts and cream sauces.

super confusing - Edit
This is NOT an all vegan restaurant. The menu is very confusing to understand. I asked the server about it so he helped me out, basically anything can be veganized if you ask. I had some delicious Slovanian food , but it is a bit expensive.

Traditional Slovenian - Edit
Most of all, I appreciated that Gujzina’s existence and atmosphere. There is at least one vegan option under every section of the menu (appetizer, stew, salad, pasta, sausages, steaks, and desserts).
Read moreI ordered the spread plate, the borjac stew, and the gibanica (Slovenia’s beloved dessert).
The plate’s seitan had perfect texture, was very finely sliced, and a little bit of seasoning. I wish the seitan had been seasoned more and while I enjoyed the pepper spread at first, the spread’s fatty coconut butter base eventually became unpleasant. Better for 2-4 people.
The small Borjac soup was quite flavorful, though also oily. You could taste the tomato, garlic, and “beef”. For the “small” price, it was very hearty. I saw that others ordered the pastas, which looked generous in size and flavor.
The gibanica was the crown jewel of the meal. I had heard of this layered dessert before and was glad I could get the non-certified vegan version. Don’t miss out on it! Idefinitely recommend checkin this place out!

Nice concept, way too expensive - Edit
The food was sadly really expensive and without spices for my taste. It took long to arrive and we were offered bread and olive oil.

Not for me - Edit
After a raining day we stopped to eat at Gujzina. When we got there we were the only ones in the restaurant. The waiter would disappear into the back most of the time, he looked bored and didn’t make us feel welcome.
Read moreThe food wasn’t for me. I had the three different sausages, they were very dry and fell apart with every bite. It was like I was eating dry grains instead of a sausage. The flavors weren’t too bad, but it was just not for me. My friend had the gnocchi and it was heavy and not that good. The people next to us ordered there famous cake/dessert and they seem to like it. Maybe we just ordered the wrong food. 🤷🏻♀️
Pros: Lots of options
Cons: Staff was really unfriendly , Food was pricy. , The restroom is in the restaurant next door

Not adviced - Edit
Lots of options, but honestly we didn't like neither the sausages plate with soup nor the potatoes, which tasted uncooked. It's also very pricy for the quantity (and obviously too much for the quality).

My first time eating a steak! 😂 - Edit
I was positively surprised cause I don’t enjoy the taste of meat at all but here the dishes were actually very nice and I’m really happy that I got to taste original Slovenian cuisine.

Not excellent, but good food and friendly staff - Edit
What we tried (bograč soup with seitan, dumplings, vegan sausage with potatoes in flaxseeds) was not excellent, nevertheless good enough food. Importantly, they offer several vegan options in all types of food: appetizer, main dish, dessert and they are easy to find on their menu. The waitress was very nice and helpful, she even advised us about not to order a certain combination because they are big portions. So, this is a good place to try some Slovenian food in their veganazed version.
