Amazing food! - Edit
I don’t understand why this is so lowly rated on HappyCow! The staff were super friendly, every dish my friend and I ate was simply delicious and honestly the only downside I could even think of is the fact that it is a little bit on the expensive side…. But any weariness towards the price disappears as soon as you have your first bite. I would recommend to anyone - regardless of dietary requirements! Will return ASAP!!

Three days in a row, addicted - Edit
Don't like to admit it, but I went here three days in a row. Twice I even got the same. They also have food to take home and I am considering to bring it instead of souvenirs.

Good - Edit
menu is not translated into english very well, so we had a few language barriers with the waiter, food is not labeled as vegan specifically but allergens are. Long wait for the food, but it was very tasty and the waiter was friendly.

Local cuisine - Edit
We really wanted to try local food. Unfortunately the weather was hot which did not play well with the heavy food. We had the small mixed vegan plate to start. It was vegan meat with spreads that seemed to be coconut oil based. Tasty but greasy. For mains we had vegan borac stew and vegan steak with plum sauce. The stew has tasty but oily and included just potatoes and seitan, not a combination of vegetables. The vegan steak with plums was interesting but needed more balance, salt maybe? It came with dodoles which were very dense and gummy fried potato balls. The food was just so heavy we decided to skip dessert. We might have appreciated it more on a cold winters night instead of a hot summers day.

Interesting regional menu - Edit
Great to try this menu of diverse and interesting regional specialities, all in veggie form. But it's not perfect: some items were quite bland (baked dumplings) or dry (one of the sausages) - perhaps that's the style? Or perhaps not.
Read moreHowever, the house speciality, lionsmane mushroom cooked "liver style" with millet and turnip, was delicious and interesting. The menu is full of really tempting things you've never tasted before

Expensive, okay food, nice location - Edit
We ordered the potato dumplings, sausages and steak meals. My steak was just okay and came with potato dumplings on the side, which would have been nice to know about before to avoid ordering the potato dumplings for entree too. Partners sausage meal fell apart but was flavoursome. Charged extra for sauce with entree. Server was friendly but forgetful.

Mediocre food - Edit
We arrived from Greece, where we love the food, and dined here after dark - and in the dark at outside tables with no lights. The food was rather plain, nowhere near as tasty as Greek food.

Lots of vegan options - Edit
I came here for dinner. I was happy to see that many, if not most, of the menu options are vegan. I had a potato entrée and soup and sausage main. It was good and reminded me of home cooking. The dishes are a bit basic, but I think the restaurant is trying to serve traditional Slovenian food rather than create some grand culinary affair.
Read morePrices are a bit high for what you get (I paid €24 for my two dishes), but all of Ljubljana seems to be like this. The service is not great - I had to speak to a few servers just to get a seat, despite most tables being open.
There’s a lot of terrace seating, which is great in the warmer months.

Delicious bograč - Edit
I decided to come here based on the several good reviews. I had the vegan bograč (beef stew) and dark steak with green pepper sauce. The stew was very good and I recommend it. I did not enjoy the steak (the whole peppercorns were overwhelming) but the dodole served with them were delicious. Bit pricey.

Grandmother style food - vegan! - Edit
We didn’t knew it was vegetarian and mainly vegan and were surprised. We ordered a traditional Slovenian meal which was much like goulash but with soya chunks and we never ate some traditional food like this in vegan this tasty before. I don’t know how they do this.
Read moreWe also had a traditional desert which looks like sweet lasagne, it was with apple and poppy-seeds, and it also was very good! The hot chocolate with plant based milk, too.

Good to try! - Edit
I wanted to try some Slovenian cuisine and this place was recommended to me. I tried to pick the cheaper things from the menu so skipped the proper mains- I had a mushroom soup, the dodole (lightly crispy potato balls), and the traditional cake, maybe called potica? The flavours of the cake weren’t my favourite honestly haha, but I was glad I tried it! Both of the savoury things were good.

Must try! - Edit
Wow, we honestly were putting this one off as YouTube travelers we follow said the food was so-so and we’ve read mixed reviews. We will probably rave about the stew for the rest of our lives. We ordered a big pot of the stew, honeslty could have both eaten our own it had SUCH rich flavoring and was so unexpectedly delicious we couldn’t stop eating. Also ordered the dark steak with peppercorn gravy and this other dish I can’t remember the name of. I love that the menu shows the exact regions of Slovenia the food is from. 10/10 experience.

Veganised Slovenian food - Edit
Great to finally try some traditional Slovenian food. Finding vegan food in Slovenian restaurants isn’t easy so I love that this place has veganised some of their dishes. The food was nice but the menu was a little complicated to understand. I went with the dodoles which were ok, a little plain and there were too many of them, wasn’t a huge fan of she mushroom sauce. The vegan ‘beef’ soup was good though.

It was nice to have some vegan traditional Slovenian option and the food was pretty nice, however the ambiance of the place wasn’t that nice and the service wasn’t either hence the a bit lower rating, also a bit pricey but that’s to be expected in the city center
