A bit disappointing - Edit
We went inside to ask for a table and were seated in the main restaurant. The menu wasn’t fully vegan so we were a bit confused. Turns out they have merged this place with a place that also serves meat etc. Anyway, that wasn’t really the issue. The server was helpful but the food was just a bit disappointing. It didn’t have much flavour. Probably wouldn’t come back here.

Not for me - Edit
I've driven past this unique eatery for years and never stopped in until it popped up on a vegan bakery Google search. The pastries I picked up from there were heavy, lackluster and after tasting, overpriced. I won't visit again. The restaurant becomes a bar after 5pm so that might appeal to some.

Cuban Owned Vegan Cafe - Edit
I was so happy to find this adorable vegan cafe, bakery, and coffee shop located in a market in Brooklyn. Guevara's is also female owned as well! We purchased the Breakfast Torta, Vegan Egg, and Cheese Empanada as well as a vegan concha cookie. The Breakfast Torta was incredible and full of flavor and beautiful colors and it was a great price for only $13. The cafe is bright pink and so cute for those who love a good IG photo opportunity!

Really yummy dulce de leche donut. Really fun vibe and friendly staff. The burrito was a bit bland. Wish I had room to try more of their pastries!

Pros: Totalmente vegano, Ambiente agradável, Comida saborosa

Cute vibes, OK empanadas - Edit
We came at almost closing so we did not give this place a fair shot. We should have come in the morning to try their pastries and breakfast fare. Instead we tried their empanadas, and the fillings were good. I especially liked the Picadillo. The aioli dips are good too. But they’re very heavy and the empanadas are very fried. I prefer a lighter empanada. YMMV My partner also enjoyed a pink and white cookie, but it wasn’t particularly noteworthy. We might give this place another chance someday but Brooklyn has a lot of excellent options.

Delicious - Edit
I had decaf iced coffee with half & half. Key lime donut (was my favorite thing) SO good. It’s enough to share. I shared with my parents. We also shared chilaquiles. And I had the breakfast sandwich. Highly recommend. My mom had the eggplant sandwich

Eggplant milanesa weak - Edit
Great decor, great ambience, all vegan. And I only tried one thing - the eggplant milanesa sandwich. I thought it was very weak, definitely wouldn’t get again. But I would go back to try something else.

We went to the location at the Domino Park. So many options-everything is fully vegan. Cuban owned with a lot of Latin American foods (a la vegan). We had the empanadas, salsa verde chilaquiles and the nachos. Everything was so delicious, can’t wait to go back!

Guevara's in Williamsburg - Edit
This review is for the pop up Guevara's inside of Mekelburg's market by Domino Park at 319a Kent Ave, Brooklyn. We've eaten here once after they first opened and twice as take away, I think each time has gotten a little bit better for me as I figure out what I like there. The first time I went they made my vegan chilaquiles with a chicken egg because they didn't seem to have the vegan kitchen up and running yet and were cooking out of the Meckleburg kitchen. But since then I've had the B.E.C. which I liked but don't love the king trumpet bacon because it's hard to chew; the Bagel & Lox which was yummy with the vegan cream cheese but didn't love the red pepper lox, and then tried the chilaquiles a second time and this time it was very good but next time will say hold the onions because there's a ton of onion in their version. They were sold out of empanadas the last time we went which was disappointing but will definitely go back to give those a try! Staff person working the Guevara stand was very nice and made a really nice vegan latte. They had a band outside playing lively Latin music which was fun.

Love this place!! - Edit
Everything I tried in this place so far is yummy! The tortas are great the eggplant sandwich is an explosion of flavors! The deserts are better than non vegan deserts and the cute pinkish purple paint and the rest of the decor are beautiful and have such a vibe also the little trinkets you can buy make it a vegan’s happy place! The plants all over made me so happy and I had to adopt one to bring home!

Incredible donuts! - Edit
The gigantic guava donut topped with cream cheese is simply amazing. I'd like to go back to try some of their other unique donut flavors (such as hibiscus and dulce de leche). We also ate empanadas: one with egg and cheese, and the other with guava and cheese. The latte was on point too. Unfortunately, they don't use any real plates, cups, or cutlery, so everything is packed in cardboard boxes, even if you're eating in. Despite it all being biodegradable, it would still be better for the environment (and customers eating in) to use real cutlery, plates, cups, etc.
