Pretty Good

Has it's own free parking, which is noteworthy considering Downtown parking is costly.

BEWARE the chips and salsa they offer you when being seated is NOT complimentary. It's $5. Also, adding salsa on the side of your dish is $1.50 each.

Otherwise, this place is quite nice. The vegan carnitas burrito was tasty and filling. Comes packed with black beans, rice, cabbage, onions, salsa, and sauce. Be sure to omit the sour cream on top that comes standard. As far as the carnitas, typical pulled pork textured faux meat. But the sauce they cook it in makes them delicious.

Flavorful enough, and while no hot sauces bottles were in sight, the mild red sauce that comes with the burrito has a surprising warmness to it.

Overall I wish the price was a dollar or two cheaper, but I didn't leave feeling gouged. Agree with other reviewers that this place has huge, unrecognized potential. But thankful for the vegan labled menu and offering of mock meat fillings.

Pros: Has Its Own Parking, Outdoor Seating, Cool Decor

Cons: Add-ons Can Add Up, Expensive

WONDERFUL

I absolutely love this place. They have mock chicken, beef, chorizo, and carnitas and it’s all so tasty. The chorizo is by far my favorite. They aren’t too expensive and it’s a great little hangout spot. The staff has always been friendly. Best vegan taco joint I’ve found in Raleigh. Only thing I don’t like is that chips and salsa aren’t complimentary.

Pros: Good value, Many mock meat options, Authentic

Cons: Have to pay for chips and salsa

Vegan-friendly, delicious Mexican food in Downtown Raleigh

Order the always-freshly-made guacamole and house margarita before you do anything else.

Though vegan chicken and beef were also options, our waitress recommended the mock chorizo and carnitas filling options; they did NOT disappoint! The tacos were extra delicious with the addition of salsa and the condiment tray: fresh grilled and pickled onions, fresh grilled and pickled jalepeños, cabbage, and radishes. Absolutely worth it! After two tacos (on top of splitting the guacamole), I was completely stuffed and satisfied.

The staff is forever friendly and accommodating, the atmosphere is fun and welcoming. I will continue coming here again and again!

Pros: 4 choices of vegan/mock meat filling, fresh ingredients, friendly staff and great service

Cons: none

Cool spot but the vegan options aren’t great

I wanted to love this place but the vegan options just didn’t hit the spot. Great guacamole and fresh tortilla chips but the mock meat was lacking.

Great traditional Mexican!

Great vegan options available! I had the vegan Carnitas burrito. Very good traditional Mexican food. You don’t see this many vegan options at a non-vegan restaurant. Highly recommend!

Hit or Miss

They have vegan chicken, beef, carnitas, and chorizo (though the latter two weren't on the menu when I went in May 2017 but I was informed by the server).

First let me say I really, really, really want to like this place. A place like this could potentially have all my money. Be aware these are downtown Raleigh prices - always check the online menu for a place before you go.

Secondly, the burritos and tacos with (vegan) meat is what *a lot* of people enjoy especially me. When I do go, I only get the burrito because it's the only thing that seems like it's filling and at a decent cost ($8). The tacos sound good, too, but they come with just the vegan meat, cilantro and onions. That's it. Want more toppings? You can get a condiment tray. While these toppings are good, this really only works for those getting tacos and if you are in a party of 3 or 4 people otherwise you'll be wasting food.

Oh, what about salsa? It costs extra! Even if you wanted it with your meal. Okay, I can understand that the chips are extra, but I can't get a small side of salsa to add to my tacos? This seems bizarre compared to other local restaurants. Their salsa principle really stops me from choosing this place as a downtown foodie destination.

Lastly, I've been about 5 times and I have yet to have decent service. Always nice people but either they disappear for while or they forget things I ask for. I also ordered an alcoholic beverage that had way more ice than was appropriate.

When I go again, I'll probably take the vegan chicken burrito to go.

Pros: vegan meat options, burrito is filling

Cons: salsa costs extra, not so great service, expensive

Eh

Good is good. Two pho-meat options plus potatoe as a filling. My guac is way better though- too much lime.
We were served chips in a dirty bowl.
There were cobwebs around the door.
Atmosphere is... eclectic, but still looks dirty.
No children's menu or to-go cups with a lid.
Food is WAY TOO EXPENSIVE!!!!
A cheese quesadilla and rice for my child was $12.50! Three adults entrees (small servings), extra tortillas (fajitas only came with two), guac with chips, and waters, and our bill was $48! For Lunch!
Great location if you are going to the free museums in downtown Raleigh, but the sanitation and price will keep us away.

Pros: vegan "beef" and vegan "pollo" options

Cons: DIRTY, EXPENSIVE, No children's menu or cups with lids

Meh

It has a fun atmosphere and unique decor. My food wasn't great though. I got tacos with the vegan potato filling. I thought it would be potato chunks but it was more like mashed potatoes. Very strange taste. I'll have to try the vegan beef or chicken next time. My omni dad liked his meal though.

Pros: Unique decor, Multiple vegan options, Good value

Cons: Food wasn't great

Great vegan friendly Mexican in downtown Raleigh

The burritos are HUGE and everything is a great value. Went here with several other vegans and we all left very full and happy. I had the vegan beef burrito and got a condiment tray that I split with a friend (I would say the condiments aren't necessary for the burrito but I would get it with the tacos). We also had the peanut salsa and orange salsa and guac with chips, as well as Jarritos. Lots of interesting and different options, the staff is very friendly, and the place is very quirky and cutely decorated.
