No weey!!!

- verduras y aguacate que se supone que es un mexicano.

Pros: El servicio atento y amable

Cons: Sin sabor , Muy caro

Excellent Food & Service

Many vegan options available...I didnt know there was a veganized menu after I ordered the ceggie burger hold the cheese...best fresh veggie burger I have had in Costa Rica. Fresh warm chips, guacamole, beans and pico de gallo were a wonderful start to a very enjoyable meal. The prices were reasonable for the quality of food in a tourist area; affordable if you stick to food; we indulged in a few margaritas😄

Delicious vegan options

I had a vegan quesadilla and my husband had vegan tacos. They were both super delicious with lots of flavorful veggies and huge portions. They make tortillas and chips homemade. So Good!

Pros: Lots of vegan options , Flavorful , Large portions

Cons: Expensive

Great visit!

Friendly staff who knows the concepts of vegan and veggie food. Very tasty food with a lot of vegan and veggie options. Definitely try anything that has their special tortilla made with whole wheat flour.

Good food, strange atmos

Great vegan quesadillas and other options, but the ambience and staff ranged from odd to obnoxious. Worth going to for the vegan and vegetarian options, but you have to be in the right frame of mind to appreciate the overall experience.

Pros: Good vegan options, Great food

Cons: Odd seating, Pushy staff

Great Options!

Green Papaya was right down the street from my air bnb and it was the perfect burrito/taco spot for a vegan. They have a fully vegan menu with a ton of options. I got the veggies burrito, it was huge and delicious! The portion sizes are great for the price. The waiter was super friendly and gave us great recommendations in the area and the atmosphere of the restaurant is great! Love this place!

Pros: Vegan Menu, Lots of options, Great food

Cons: Price, Closed on Monday, Cash only

Great for Veg Families

We stopped in after a boat tour update the estuary. Nested on a side street, you are tucked away from the busy Tamarindo main drag in a lovely indoor/outdoor café. They have separate vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free menus so please ask! I had the amazing black beam burger (vegan style) and their housemade hot sauce is incredible!

Pros: Separate vegan menu , Generous portions

Cons: Cash only

Loved it!!

Cool ambiance, lovely people .. and such good food!! We had the “chips and dips” which consisted of homemade chips , guacamole, bean sauce and the famous home hot sauce. The Buddha bowl is also amazing!
We had a volcano chocolate cake for dessert.. yum!
Oh and a bonus.. there are swings to sit !

Separate vegan menu with loads of choice!

This is such a great place for lunch or dinner as a vegan! There’s a whole separate vegan menu with lots of choices on, including starters, mains and salads. Food aside, there is a lovely outdoor seating area including chair-swings which were a complete hit with our daughter. On one visit to the restaurant, we also got to see a troop of howler monkeys up close as they passed along the restaurant roof and into a nearby tree. Green Papaya make their own tortillas by hand, which I thought was pretty cool. The gluten free corn tortillas are bought in however. My favourite thing on the menu was the chips and dips. It’s a huge portion, I think you’d be hard pressed to eat all of it on your own, even as a main! Definitely one to share. It comes with a yummy chilli sauce (medium heat, but sweet and sticky... very tasty!), black bean dip and guacamole. All were lovely. We tried three mains between us - the vegan burrito was my favourite, filled with veggies and very satisfying. The mushroom and spinach quesadillas were good, although were served without vegan cheese. Personally this was a bonus for me, since I don’t like pretend cheese and tend to avoid it! My husband tried the burger and it tasted really good. Again, felt pretty light and wasn’t overly dripping in oil. It was served up with a salad as well. The restaurant were very accommodating to my picky 4 year old, so it’s a good choice if you have children. My only suggestion for the restaurant would be to add a vegan pudding - even ice cream from Beach Treats (who offer handmade vegan ice cream in town) would be a really good edition to the menu. You’re super close to their ice cream shop if you do need something to satisfy your sweet tooth afterwards however!

Pros: Great vegan options on a separate menu , Lovely outdoor seating area , Friendly staff
