I was really surprised to see that this really touristic city has a completely vegan restaurant, so I had to try it. And wow, was is worth it!

Hidden gem in Sarandë - Edit
The place is just great: the concept, the owners, their project… they go far and beyond to accommodate you and make you feel like at home. The food was delicious, especially the focaccia sandwich, and the red wine is the very best in Albania. Thank you Julian and Monica for a lovely evening!

The place is absolutely special. You can sit inside or infront of the restaurant or in the little garden. The furniture is build from reused materials. The menu was explained to us in detail. We had babaganoush and hummus as starters and foccacia and the Buddha bowl as the main course. Dessert was a delicious apple cake with local fruit (probably the best nectarines we‘ve ever had).

The hosts are really welcoming and nice. They offer a great service.

We had Falafel and Curry, Focaccia and Baba Ganoush as well as some cake.
After the meal both of us were full and happy.

Ok food, friendly staff, just a bit slow service & expensive - Edit
The staff were very warm and welcoming upon arrival. However, the service was incredibly slow. It took approximately 1.5 hours to get our food. In general it was just very slow, from getting served, getting the menu, getting our drinks, etc. We didn't take it personally as It's somewhat understandable considering there is just 2 of them running the restaurant, cooking, serving etc.
Read moreI was also a little surprised at the pricing, especially in comparison to other local restaurants and when you consider the location too (it's out of the centre) so, the rent shouldnt be expensive.
Food was 600 for a starter and 1000 for a main, drinks were also quite expensive, 150 for a small glass of tea, 350 for a can of beer or 800 for a bottle of wine.
Desert was 600 too for a slice of cake.
Usually you expect to pay a somewhat higher premium for vegan restaurants, which is acceptable, but I feel this restaurant should not be rated as cheap on Happy Cow, because it isn't a cheap place to eat, at least in comparison to other local places.
Overall, Food was pretty decent, (just a little bland) portions weren't huge, but big enough. Staff were friendly. If it was slightly more affordable I would have returned for sure.

Hey there, shame you felt our prices out or range for you.
We've been in contact with happycow for a few weeks now to change the "cheap" indication, because we're not. that being said you also don't get cheap food. This could have avoided you coming all the way up to 5street, (7 minute walk from the water)
Our prices also reflect the effort of sustainable space, low waste, handmade, time consuming menu, not our location to the centre.
People are usually here on vacation & enjoy to spend time here, but 1.5 hours to get drinks or menu is not realistic, just to say.
If you were in a rush we typically ask people to let us know, or to be understanding of, yes it's only the two of us (owners not staff) working on this activism project as it stands.
Its a concept space, not a typical restaurant.

Our prices have been as such since re-open in February, only now are we hearing this feedback from you & one other out of the many that have been overly pleased with their experience. With respect our prices, they are as such for the overall project & time consuming work.
As well what comes in in - goes in to build the space.
we started without even an oven, with communities help we've been able to grow the space & promote animal & planet rights to those who come here looking for a creative space focused on making an impact in Saranda.

Tasty food, nice concept might be the first in Albania. Menu changes every week or so. Which makes it more varied. Prices are relatively expanses compared to Albanias standards, but the food you’ll get in return is above Albanians standards so Me and my girlfriend enjoyed it. They were very nice to us too! I had a lovely meal here. The owners are friendly and the place was small and homely. Reservation advised as there are not many seats but I showed up just after opening and there was space. You can find out the menu on the day(I had Baba Ganousj, Shepherd’s pie and Chia seed -chocolate dessert, other mains available). 3 courses(starter, main , desert, glass of wine and coffee plus filtered water) were 1500 lek at the time of writing.

Top quality vegan food. Tasty, homemade meals with variety. The owners are super nice and are always attentive to what you need. It is the first 100% vegan restaurant in the country and we have been here several times because of the way they treat their customers and above all because of how tasty the food is. They also have very good beers, liquors and desserts. If you are looking for vegan options, this is the place for you, and if not, too!
