Delicious and Affordable - Edit
First time at this 100% vegan place and we enjoyed it very much! Because we knew we would be picnicking, we just ordered a few simple items for Take Away. We ordered Spring Rolls, Pot Stickers, and the Pumpkin Almond Cheesecake. Everything was really tasty!! I was actually surprised at how good the pumpkin cheesecake was too. They also have GO MAX GO bars which are my FAVORITE vegan candy bars on the planet and they aren't easy to find!! Do yourself a favor and buy a Mahalo bar (vegan version of Almond Joy) and Jokerz (Vegan snickers!!). Go Max Go makes vegan version of all the classic candy bars!! It's a great brand I like to support.

The best! - Edit
This was, hands down, the most amazing Asian food I’ve had ever since going vegan. They had a matcha cake/pie and it was the best thing I’ve had!

Pancakes and waffles! A little odd with a serving of sweet chilli sauce, but it worked.

The food is truly delicious. FYI: This is a good place to work between lunch and dinner rushes. Good service, too. If you love flan, consider getting theirs for dessert. ♥️

Good Asian food - Edit
This is a good place for Asian food. The food and the service were good. The restaurant is clean and bright. The price is very good given that it’s in San Francisco. It’s definitely worth visiting if you eat vegan/plant-based food.

Incredibly tasty Asian-style meals!
Read moreWe had ‘drumsticks’ as an entree.
The Golden Era Noodle Soup and the Mama’s Claypot as mains - all of which, were fantastic! (The Claypot’s broth/sauce was divine)
We finished off the meal by sharing a caramel flan, which was both perfectly textured and tasty!
Do not give this place a skip!

Stunning - Edit
Fantastic food. I had the cold spring rolls and the lemongrass chicken dish (on two visits) - both were incredible and generous. The fake chicken was really special - delicious with a range of textures. The restaurant is big and spotless, with plenty of space to work at the table - the only minor issue there was no WiFi, but I’m grasping for any con there. As well as a huge range of great Asian dishes, there were a wide range of desserts like Oreo cake.

Wow - Edit
Ate here twice during our visit to SF. Very impressed. Clean, friendly and fast. The food was delicious and the faux meat was scary close to the real thing. Our faves were the Spicy Kung Pao and the Crispy Cauliflower. Had the Pot Stickers both times. Can't say enough good thing about this place.

Good Food, Gluten Free, Different Options - Edit
Love the black sesame latte! Healthy gluten free meal with rice noodles or organic brown rice, seaweed soup, and many more options. Ordered dishes where hubby enjoyed gluten items as they are very tasty.
Read moreLemongrass specialty dish with steamed broccoli would be much better and healthier less fried more of a quick stir fry less oily. Same with wonton soup. It would be better to have a steamed wonton not fried wonton.
Beautiful mural adds to the ambiance.
Definitely recommend but Uber/Lyft there not best area.
Pros: Tasty vegan food & hard to find grocery items, Several Gluten free options, Nice ambiance & desserts
Cons: Not in great area, Too many options are fried , Add more gluten free proteins

Super Very Good Noms! - Edit
Traveling from an area that has very little to offer in the way of vegan food, this was our first experience of full vegan dining in the Bay Area. Everything was extremely tasty & we left with empty plates, full bellies, & smiling faces! Very clean, beautiful restaurant with friendly & quick service.

Good though oily - Edit
This restaurant offers a lot of mock meat dishes, often fried with oil. What we had was mostly good but definitely not healthy or else. Perhaps other options would have been less oily.
Read moreThe menu is super long, you will find something that accommodates you. Service is super fast and friendly. Prices are low.
Last thing: the neighbourhood is packed with homeless people / drug addicts / persons which psychological issues. We went there at only 7pm, and were still feeling unsafe. We got a uber to come back. I would recommend anyone NOT to go there by foot.
Pros: Many options , Fast & friendly service
Cons: Oily / fat, Neighbourhood

Still excellent in its new location - Edit
We've been enjoying Golden Era for many years, and its current incarnation is at least as good as it has ever been. The menu has grown a few new offerings while keeping the old favorites and dishing them up with consistency. The chef's specials are a good place for first-timers to start.
