Nice dinner! - Edit
We had great service. I asked for some oil free options. Our servers went back, talked to the kitchen, came back to our table and offered several oil free options. We were even given the soy protein on the side because it contained a small amount of oil. I’m thankful for the staff going out of the way to accommodate our request. The food was delicious.

OG Vegan Spot in the TL - Edit
I love their new location! It’s so airy and allows plenty of light, I remember when it used to be one of the only vegan spots in The City - and now it’s a well known gem!
Read moreSuper glad I stopped in after placing a takeaway order. Plenty of indoor seating and personnel were super friendly!
I was even complimented while walking back to my fur pal - friendly folks everywhere!
Ordered the Spring Rolls and Chowmein w/Faux Chicken and broccoli. Since I was with my fur pal, I decided to enjoy it picnic style along the shoreline.
Pros: Fully Vegan/Plant-Based • Delicious and Savory, Great Portion of Noodles • Easy Ordering Online, Friendly Personnel • Streamline Layout
Cons: It’s in the Heart of SF • Parking May Be Limited, Parking Garage Nearby (Pro)

Yummy food! - Edit
In the area and HC delivered again. Friendly employees, great food too. The spring rolls and Asian wraps were the best. My wife liked her flan and my chocolate cake was a little dry.

Fresh and Vegan - Edit
We were in the area of the Asian Museum and decided to have lunch and lucky for us Golden Era was nearby. The restaurant is very clean and neatly decorated inside. My husband and I ordered the spring rolls and Asian wraps to share. Both were nice portions, favorable and yummy! We appreciated that the rolls were served with a large serving of a delicious peanut sauce. We finished off our lunch with dessert, we had the mocha cake and the caramel flan which satisfied our sweet tooth's. Everything was really fresh and tasty, the service was good and the food was reasonably priced. So glad we stopped here for lunch! #Veganuary

Super Delicious Comfort Food! - Edit
What can I say that hasn't been said about the amazing Golden Era. I've inspired many meat loving coworkers to embrace vegan cuisine because of Golden Era. Their food is fresh and delicious, the place is super clean, and the wait staff are fast and friendly.

Food was ok, nice service and lots to choose from. As a vegan it’s always amazing to have more choices than the usual meat restaurants. Fairly priced but dodgy neighborhood

Could have been better - Edit
Man! I wanted to love this place but it just ain’t it. I ordered spicy noodle soup and spring rolls. The spring rolls tasted good but the wrapper on them was tough. I had to bite my teeth down real hard to get the piece I was biting to separate. I’ve never experienced that in my spring roll career.
Read moreThe broth of the spicy noodle soup tasted great but I wasn’t a fan how all the typical accompaniments like basil, jalapeño, and bamboo shoots, were already placed in the soup for me. That was very different and also the first time I’ve seen something like that in my Vietnamese noodle soup career.

Underwhelming - Edit
Unfortunately the food we ordered (spicy Mongolian delight and lemongrass deluxe with mango sticky rice for dessert) last night was too bland. May be it was a one-off bad day. Spicy was not spicy in the Mongolian delight. Lemongrass deluxe was missing the classic lemongrass one would expect.

My wife loves this place - Edit
This is my wife's favorite place to get meat "immitations" that taste good. We often go here for special events. It can be a bit pricey and parking can be very difficult given it's location.

Had 1 of our best meals here. Great food at great value with really decent sized portions.

Excellent Experience - Edit
I visited back in June but just now writing a review. I had Spring Rolls, Papaya Salad, and Vegan Spicy Shrimp. I opted for greens instead of rice with the spicy shrimp. Spring rolls were ok—a little difficult to eat without falling apart and the peanut sauce was a little weak. Green papaya salad was excellent—perfect amount of sauce and freshness, and it even comes with soy protein so it’s enough for an entree. The spicy shrimp was the standout. The exterior of the shrimp was crispy and flaky and the inside really resembled shrimp. The spicy sauce was just the right amount of spicy. Lots of chucks of green pepper also. I had lots of leftovers between the green papaya salad and the spicy shrimp and they were just as delicious the next day. I went during a slower time of the day and the service was excellent. Obviously a popular place given the amount of delivery/pickup orders that were being picked up.

Very tasty - Edit
We had some drumsticks as starters, damn good. Followed by the special beef and chicken, beef had a very good sauce. Chicken was also good, more like fried balls, friendly staff and quickly served. Would definitely recommend, no hesitation when it comes to this type of cuisine.

I have been in the US for a few weeks now and have really struggled to find any good food. This is some of the best food I’ve found since arriving here, although that isn’t saying much (as apparent through three stars). The portion sizes are generous and the texture and flavour is quite good, it’s just lacking comparatively to other similar places I’ve been to elsewhere. By standards of other places I have eaten in the US, it is very good, by global standard, it is quite poor. I hope that makes sense.

No 2nd Thoughts - Edit
The dishes that I tried were phenomenally filled with flavor, jam packed. The rice, hands down, has been the best I’ve tasted thus far as vegan and before I embarked this journey. No 2nd thoughts, I’d visit San Fran just to try them again. Gave it 4 because the Mongolian was a tad bit salty for me. Everything still was good from texture to taste. Satisfied and exquisitely delightful. Golden Era is worth is & brings a signature stamp to evolving vegan

I order from here almost every time I go to San Fransisco. I love the gourmet fried rice! Their desserts are amazing too. I like getting takeout and eating it across the street at the beautiful city hall, although the restaurant also has a great atmosphere if you decide to stay indoors.
