We had a carbonara and home made tortellini. It was very good! The carbaronara was very creamy. As starter we took the thai rolls. Yummie!!! Only vegan food.

È un ristorantino che offre piatti originali e di qualità, belli da vedere e ottimi nel gusto e negli accostamenti. Se passate per Cagliari non potete perdervi questa esperienza. Unica pecca: costicchia un po'.

Fantastic Vegan Restaurant - Edit
Had the lasagne and carbonara and they were absolutely sublime. The red wine they serve in glasses only was also incredible; sweet and goes down easy.

Excellent and delicious - Edit
We had an excellent experience. The pasta carbonara was rich and creamy and the lasagne was delicious as well. Service was super friendly. A definite recommendation for vegans and non vegans! Will for sure revisit if we’re back in Cagliari again.

Went twice during a single weekend… - Edit
There is just so much to try at Gintilla! The entrées, the pastas, the desserts, oh my!
Read moreRisotto - the risotto was texturally on point, saucy with the rice cooked to perfection. The flavours of tomato, aubergine and cheese were all there and it was one of my favourites I’ve had here. The portion was also huge, in the best way!
Tortellini with spirulina - as I was delighting in my risotto, my partner was having only a handful of tortellini, I want to say 5? While very delicious, this was an incredibly small portion and he was seriously considering getting a second pasta dish. It’s the only small dish we saw but it’s one of those where I would happily pay more to get an adequate portion because it was delicious (I only had a small bite so as not to steal his and I wish I could have had more to form a better opinion) and it obviously requires more time to form the shapes.
Strudel - delicious blend of apple and spices, and an effective plating too! It wasn’t a layered Austrian style one, more of a pipe that held the delicious filling. It worked very well with the chocolate sauce.
Tiramisu - this was the only dish that we found disappointing. The coffee flavour was mild, and the cake was dry. Some areas were even drier than others. This would have needed a lot more coffee seeped through for both taste and humidity. It was fine, but I couldn’t recommend it.
3 tomato tagliatelle - this pasta was an absolute delight. Fresh, juicy tomatoes that come alive on the plate, perfect ratio of pasta, sauce and tomatoes, would highly recommend. Naturally, al dente pasta cooked to perfection.
Carbonara - quite salty for my taste, but then again it is a salty dish for omnis too. It wasn’t my favourite because of this plus the fact that the guanciale in the original recipe was more of a shawarma here. They were strips rather than cubes so the texture had to suffer. It was tasty enough that it scratched the itch for carbonara, but not the best rendition I’ve had.
Cheese board - this felt very plentiful for a starter which was great! The size allowed to properly taste all the cheeses and accompaniments - the sundried tomato pate, the aubergine one and the mango chutney were all delicious, and the truffle, herb and spicy cheeses had a nice texture and flavour as advertised. I’d really recommend this one and I haven’t seen any other vegan cheese boards in Cagliari!
The staff was also very friendly and offered good service. I wish the accompanying bread was more special.
Pros: A plethora of dishes to try, Delicious pasta, Delicious risotto
Cons: Only one local Sardinian wine by the glass , The bread was very standard , The drinks menu has no sodas or cocktails

Great vegan cuisine in city center - Edit
Gintilla is a vegan restaurant in the most important street in Cagliari. It has a full vegan menu, I personally preferred first course instead of second, but everything was great. You can find this restaurant on TheFork app and change your 2000credits for 50€ discount, not bad at all.

Beautiful and delicious Italian food! - Edit
Gintilla is the best vegan restaurant I’ve ever been to and mine and my partner’s favourite place to dine when we are in Cagliari. We live in London so we have been to MANY great vegan restaurants but none can rival Gintilla for quality, price and creativity of dishes. They also feature traditional Sardinian fare on the menu like the Seadas (dessert) which is such a treat. Always hoping they might open a branch in East London soon!

Vegaaaan Steak!!! 🤤 - Edit
We had the soya steak and the kebab pinse with seitan. The food was delicious! Everything was organic and for the first time in my vegan life I felt like my nut allergy was being taken seriously. The lovely waitress (unfortunately we forgot to ask her name) dealt very carefully with my allergy and advised me on the food. Thanks again for that!

Another Reason to Return to Sardinia - Edit
The Tofu with roasted fennel and Mirto sauce was so delicious I was inspired to purchase Mirto and bring it back to the states. We also had Eggplant Parmigiana with brown rice risotto and Thai Rolls with Wakame seaweed and citrus sesame sauce. Although I don't usually eat fried foods, I am glad I made the exception for the Thai Rolls! Unbelievable flavors and I could have had seconds on the seaweed salad. The Eggplant parmigiana risotto was not my favorite, but still was good. It was more like a tomato based risotto with a dollop of pureed eggplant. Chiara was an excellent server and was knowledgable about the area as well as the cuisine. I wish we hadn't found Gintilla on our last night in Sardinia.
