Healthy vegan food - Edit
Kudos on being a pure vegan restaurant! Portions were generous and the sambal was to die for. However, I do wish they offered more noodle options aside from thin beehoon.

Yummy Dumplings - Edit
A small cafe at the basement of Havelock2. Mostly local delights, not much choices for sharing.
Read moreLaksa and Nasi Lemak is ok, the Bak Kut Teh is disappointing as it didn’t come in claypot that it should be and not much ingredients, so didn’t take a picture. The dumplings are very nice.

Nasi Lemak & house-made sambal - Edit
a 𝒇𝒖𝒍𝒍 𝒗𝒆𝒈𝒂𝒏 𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒕, offering both Asian and Western cuisines. 🌸 Though they are not an alliums-free establishment, most of the dishes (90%) are alliums-free. In fact, only the western dishes contain alliums and not omittable. Asian dishes are all alliums-free, including chilli!😄 Remember to inform them of your dietary preference when placing an order, so that they will swap all the chilli to alliums-free version.

Their Lagsane blew me off and kept me coming back (has alliums though). Chat with staffs if you have special ingredient to remove, they gladly recommend.

Excellent flavor and good value - Edit
Genesis serves delicious vegan takes on local cuisine, including plenty of healthy fare (greens, brown rice, non-fried items). The nasi lemak is particularly recommendable, and the dumplings are good, too.

Good food and service - Edit
The menu clearly marks which items have garlic and onion. There are less choices for those who don't eat garlic and onion but the remaining choices are still good. I had olive rice and sushi. Both are great.

Solid Place With A Variety of Options. - Edit
If you're in Singapore, the food at Genesis is worth trying. The atmosphere is an intimate one, with warm-glow lighting, vibrant-colored chairs, and a smaller space for a restaurant-- this is the type of restaurant you'd want to hang out at, in the evenings / Friday nights. When I went during lunchtime hours, it was empty, and nice to enjoy the space all to myself!

nice - Edit
decent (not huge) selection of all vegan western food and also familiar Asian dishes. price is kinda mid range around $10 for most mains. tried the laksa which was pretty good & satisfying, with a meat substitute thats actually quite realistic compared to other ones I’ve tried. atmosphere is simple, cozy & cottage-y as it’s a small shop. they also sell a small selection of bread/pastries at the front. owners are friendly & can alter spice levels if you can’t handle very spicy food

Cons: little bit pricey?, small shop, might have to wait for seats

2019 review: Ordered Fish head vermicelli ($8.90), Claypot rice ($8.90) & Seaweed rolls ($5.50). Take note that they are moving from Owen road to 2 Havelock Road #B1-01, near CQ mrt! Old location end 25th Sep. New location will start in mid Oct 2019

We have ordered Dumplings ($6.60), Nonya Laksa ($9.30), Lemak Fish Rice ($12.90), Bakuteh Rice ($11.90), Claypot Rice ($10.90), Chicken Rice ($8.90) and drinksss for total of $89.80. I had Cranberry Lavender ($4.90) and love it! Love the cranberry taste in this! [note: this cafe also serve alliums free options]
I had bakuteh rice and likey it! Portion is generous, soup is comforting and it came with a lot of ingredients such as tofu, veges, mushroom and mock meat. It was also served with brown rice 😋. Dumplings for sharing is a good idea too! I didn’t have the rest so can’t comment much hahahaa can only say they look decent!!! 😋
After the meal, I have bought cinnamon rolls pack for $10. It came in 4 and I had 2 muahaa. Love it and will buy again next time. Cinnamon taste is strong. A little sweet pastry but all good for me. Highly recommended to buy their cinnamon rolls home if you go there~
Pros: A lot of options, Staff friendly

Lovely staff, wonderful food - Edit
We arrived as a group of 5 just after 8pm and were told that they were closing at 8:30pm, so quickly ordered a bunch of food before then. We were so grateful that they prepared the food so quickly, and continued to take our order when we wanted to order more (and more and more) food, despite being after closing hours. We wanted double orders of EVERYTHING! We ordered the lasagne, which was truly sensational and felt healthy too; the bak Ku teh which was divine; two orders of dumplings because the first order was not enough! These dumplings were out of this world delicious! Nasi Lemak with mutton and fish - the sambal was perfect. Olive rice was so nice, we wished we ordered two. Seaweed rolls which were lovely and refreshing and the sausages, which reminded me of those pork sausages you get at a Chinese New Year festival on a stick. Yum!! We also had to finish off with vegan Magnums, because it would have been rude not to! AND we bought a tin of vegan love letters, which were honestly better than any love letters I've tried (they were on par with my Ahma's love letters, so they were AMAZING). Definitely coming back here again so we can take our time and try everything else on the menu. Happy bellies, happy hearts.

Good vegan food with both local and western dishes available. Local food could be a bit more spicy (I feel it was a bit wetsternised) but overall tasty and portions are decent.

I guess I had my hopes up visiting this place, and was kinda disappointed by the quality of food served here. Had the Bak Kut Teh, dumplings and olive fried rice, none of which wowed us in any way. Dumplings were our favourite out of the three as we thought the rest of it was pretty bland. Olive fried rice could use more olive in it for sure!! Maybe this place and their food just wasn't for us😒
