Fantastic food - Edit
We have been looking forward to having a meal here since we enjoyed several of their meal boxes during lockdown!
Read moreWe had the 11 course meal on Saturday evening. The restaurant is lovely, you have plenty of space between tables and are not at all squeezed in as you are at some upmarket restaurants.
The staff were excellent and the food was outstanding.
This was definitely the best tasting menu we have ever had and a bonus that the restaurant is totally vegan.
Pros: Fantastic food, Tables well spaced , Excellent staff
Cons: Expensive but very special

What an experience! Granted, far from cheap, a wonderful experience. From start to finish, count on about 3 hours.

Outstanding dining in the heart of London - Edit
We were in London for the weekend and had booked here as a special meal out. From the beginning it is a fantastic experience. I think eating it as an experience rather than just a meal is how this should be approached. We opted for the 7:30 sitting which is the Grand tasting menu. Each course was great although my partner who has been vegetarian since a teenager didn’t like the 3D printed fake meat course. Reminded her too much of meat which is a testament to the advances in technology I suppose. The waiting staff are very keen to hear views on this course and may inform future menus. Every other course was finished and enjoyed. We were eating for at least 3.5 hours and it flew by. Each course was well explained by the waiters and the paired wine was also equally well explained. A great experience.

Cons: 3D printed meat too realistic for our liking

Outstanding and Inventive Fine Dining Experience - Edit
Gauthier Soho was created by French chef Alexis Gauthier and has received high recognition from the Michelin Guide to The New York Times. As the name suggests Gauthier is in the Soho district of London. The restaurant is inside of a Regency townhouse which according to the Gauthier website has undergone complete refurbishment.
Read moreTo enter the restaurant there is a buzzer to press upon which one of the friendly staff greets you. The restaurant features a small dining area which is nicely decorated. The flooring feels high end and the tables are draped with high quality cloth.
I went for the Petit Dîner, a shorter 5 course menu for £55, which is only offered for 5 o’clock sittings on Tuesday to Saturday. With a service charge the cost is around £63. All the staff here were friendly, attentive, and personable.
Once I was seated the staff brought me tap water on request which was refilled throughout. The canapés where a BLT tart which was delicious and unique as the BLT flavor was infused into a clear orb. Next, a warm brioche came out seated upon rocks along side a vegan feta with pico de gallo. The brioche was nice but nothing mind-blowing. Then I had the roast fennel which was served with a fennel and black currant tea poured over, table side. The fennel dish was tender and made a great use of texture with the pickled blackberry. The truffle risotto was my favorite savory dish and topped with black truffles.
If you plan on the dining here and don’t want to spoil the surprise course, don’t read this paragraph. On the menu was a secretive item listed as “Tomorrow,” which was a surprise from the chef featuring a 3D printed vegan lamb— this tasted nice and was shockingly close to what I remember meat tasting like. Overall this course was very unique and a novel experience. Each dish was well described by the staff.
The dessert began with peaches with lime sorbet then out came the Norviegienne Brulèe (aka baked Alaska) which was torched at the table. The Brûlée was one of the best desserts I’ve had featuring fresh strawberries, a crisp chocolate layer, and two types of sorbet inside. Finally, I was given the petit fours which looked nice with gold leaf. The macaroon was a bit to sweet but the meal overall was one of the best I’ve had.
I’ve been to vegan fine dining restaurants before that have disappointed me but everything about my experience here was stellar. If you enjoy fine dining than Gauthier should be at the top of your list when in London.

Vegan fine dining is finally here! - Edit
A wonderful mouth experience that everyone needs to try! The black truffle ravioli (Black Antipodean Melanosporum Truffle) was possibly the most delicious thing I’ve ever had in my mouth, period. The whole menu was an adventure in flavors I never knew I could experience. It’s pricey, but not insane (£99 per person, with a separate £75 wine pairing). I can’t think of a better way to celebrate an occasion than coming here.

A memorable experience - Edit
We spent 3.5 hours enjoying some of the best vegan fine dining we've ever had. We've tried a few places around the world, and this place is a real stand out. The wine pairing is worth the money too -- the pours are fair and of course the quality of the wine is amazing.
Read moreSome of the highlights for me were the dumplings with fresh Australian truffle grated on top, a 3D printed piece of 'lamb' which was closest thing I've tasted to real lamb in many years, a baked Alaska whose cold center was protected by a thin layer of chocolate with the exterior meringue blow-torched at the table, and in general, just the marriage of seasonal vegetables in various sauces and underutilized ingredients that I hadn't heard of until this meal. The service was impeccable.
If there was only one criticism to make, it would be that some of the dishes were noticeably salty and I ended up drinking 1 litre of water which I don't normally do with dinner. Anyway, I'm looking forward to the next time I'm in London to try the next seasonal menu.

Run Do Not Walk - Edit
We had no idea what to expect from this restaurant. Neither of us is a big French food fan (they're vegan-hostile!), but we decided to give it a try. WOW. We were amazed and blown away by the food. Every dish was distinctive, and really got at the essence of the food (i.e., asparagus, mushrooms, etc.). This chef really knows what he's doing. We had the pre-theatre menu, which is 3 courses shorter than the regular one. I don't think we could have gotten through the larger one, because we were totally full. There were THREE dessert courses, all amazing. The menu changes once per season, and we were there at the tail end of spring. Can't wait to return for summer, fall, and winter. Also, the price was reasonable, perhaps even on the low side, given the amount of food and the amount of preparation that went into it. A great value. Thank you!

We booked a table for the petit dinner, which featured a fantastic spring tasting menu. Delicious flavours, very nicely presented, great service. Overall a very special experience. What I really liked was the fact that the different dishes highlighted tasty seasonal veggies, rather than trying to copy traditional meat or fish ones. The chocolate dessert at the end? A show stopper.

At home box is spectacular - Edit
We had the Northern Italy at home box and it blew us away it was so delicious.
Read moreThe menu was beautiful, our favourite courses were the minestrone and the barbajuan. It was all really easy to put together and each course only took a few minutes. Such creative and delicious food, it really is another level. I cannot wait to visit the actual restaurant one day!
We have also ordered the faux gras this Christmas and they've all been so so amazing.
The only thing we struggled with was heating the gnocchi as a block, with the leftovers we chopped it first and fried them
Individually and we thought the results were better.
