Closed but no sign to tell you

We tried to eat here twice, a big sign said open on the 02/11/2019. We turned up (3rd) no update on the sign, tried again the following day as the 3rd is a Sunday. Still closed no update. Tried to call no answer.

Great food

Great homemade taste 100% vegan food. This is the only vegan restaurant in the Haad Rin area and we totally loved it! We ate there every day and hence, tried almost everything from the menu. Main thing to note, this place is not only about hummus — apart from enormous variety of it, they also have scrambled tofu, vegan omelette, meatballs and sausages, burritos, pies, salads as well as other european food. The House of Hummus chefs work on the menu and they tend to introduce some new positions, one of which is shawarma that was very and very good — ask for it when you are there! As regards our other favorites, these are Indian hummus and shakshuka hummus, “Gallery vegan” (a scrambled tofu with tahini, Israeli salad and pita on a side), burritos and falafel. Also, they have amazing vegan deserts — chocolate balls with different toppings, our favorite is the one with peanut. Those who are on a diet — you cannot skip it, this is definitely a must try. Overall, we very much recommend this place!

Great food

As the only vegan place in Haad Rin, it does a good job. Lots of variety in the dishes, despite it appearing very hummus and falafel based!

Falafel was very good, as was the Greek baguette. My favourite thing off the menu was the potato/cheese pastries. Which also come with a really refreshing salad. Prices aren’t too bad for the area as well! Owner is also a lovely guy, cares a lot about what you think of the food😄

Pros: All vegan, Good mix of dishes, Tasty

Cons: A bit pricier than authentic Thai

Hey, thank you for your beautiful review!
The owners are 2 sisters who also Owens the green gallery restaurant in srithanu area on the island which is also 100% vegan and where the menu is twice as big.
Highly recommend to visit there ?

Delish and good value

I have eaten here twice and plan to come back because it’s one of the only places you can get fresh veggies! The portions are good, but you do pay more than the average Thai restaurant (each meal is about 200 baht) but it’s well worth the splurge if you’re looking for something yummy and healthy as a treat! The salad is make-your-own so you can decide whatever you like in it with no limits and it’s a good size. The tandoori roll is so good too.

Pros: Yummy, Relaxing atmosphere , Good portion sizes

Cons: Expensive

I think this is the only vegan restaurant in Haad Rin

Located away from the beach in a very plain setting, this restaurant makes up for it all with its food. The menu is not huge but has enough choices to satisfy most vegan appetites. The woman who does the cooking here serves up nice tasty portions. If you have eaten at Green Gallery in Sri Thanu, you have probably tasted her food since she prepares most of it for that restaurant and then sends it to them.

Pros: Good size portions

Hey, thank you for your lovely review :)
This restaurant and the green gallery in srithanu is the same owner therefore some of the food is the same :)
However in srithanu the menu is much bigger and have many dishes you won't find at house of hummus.
Highly recommend to visit our green gallery in srithanu?

Not where Happy Cow shows on map

I did not actually eat here but wanted to say that it is NOT where Happy Cow’s map says. I believe it is connected to Green Gallery up on the northwest part of island! Will edit post if I actually try this restaurant because it looks amazing!!

Hello dear, thank you for your review. You are right to say that this restaurant is connected to green gallery :)
I would like to mention that the happy cow map is connected to Google map and Google map is not updated with the unorganized addresses in Koh phangan. I'm aware of the problem with the map and working on salving it however due to the Google confemation requests it takes a long time (they are asking confirmation via post and post takes long time to get to Koh phangan).
To assist you getting to house of hummus in the meantime I would suggest you to search for "Maddy's hostel Koh phangan" on Google map, it is right next door to house of hummus, that way you can easily find it?we sure hope to see you soon.
Sincerely yours

So good I came back the next day

We brought some non vegans to this place and they loved it! The food is delicious and so fresh! They literally make everything in house including their fresh pitas, and vegan mayo! Some of the freshest and most delicious food you’ll eat on this island. The owner and the people that work here are so nice. The service is great! Since they do make everything fresh and in house it may take a bit for your food to come out but it’s absolutely well worth it. We also enjoyed their homemade popsicles very much.

Pros: Fully vegan , Fresh food, Tasty

Fresh delicious food with loads of options

I had the create your own salad which had so many veg options as well as nuts and tofu for 200 baht. This was well worth the price as it was absolutely huge and was enough for my lunch and dinner. My friends had the vege burger and pie and both lived their food too. The shakes were also so good!

Pros: fresh food, loads of vegetables

Delicious falafel and hummus

My vegan friend and I were on the island for a few days and so happy to find House of Hummus! We had the falafel sandwich two days in a row which is really good and really fresh. They serve it with chilis and garlic in olive oil which elevate it that much more.

I also had a delicious tropical fruit shake.

This is the only veggie spot in Haad Rin and it is good!

Great place to have in Haad Rin

Nice place on one of the several alleys in the maze of Haad Rin. The only vegetarian restaurant there (I only saw some old signs of some place that might have been one). There is some Israeli food available in other restaurants, but hummus was better here.

Pros: Good food, Nice staff, Also a hostel

Amazing food, big portions, good prices!

Really really great food & big portions for good prices when compared to other places. And the only place we found that had vegan bread (whether for a burger or baguette sandwich). They also do really good 'milk' shakes as well as smoothies, I had a few. Oh and you gotta try the vegan 'bounty' - it is so yummy! Defo recommend this to everyone!
P.S. Really good location too which always helps.

Cosy option if you need humus.

It's homey little place with nice food.

The many humus options are tasty, the pita bread was not to stodgy and fat and it was fresh with nice pickles and chilli sauce. The Vietnamese spring rolls were subtly baked with a good flavour.

Loco Coco shake vegan like everything in here was yum with honey and coconut milk.

Pros: tasty , good options, cosy

Cons: slow service
