Tasty waffles - Edit
Really good waffles, not too sweet and fluffy. Avocado toast was excellent, and the overnight oats were incredibly good on a hot summer day.

Expensive and fair tasting - Edit
I would suggest revising overnight oats recipe. Add stronger tasting fruits like cherries if not going to add sweetener to recipe.

Good but expensive - Edit
Was happy to have the option, but in the neighborhood there are options that are better and cheaper. If I really wanted to lean into the healthy options it’s good it’s there, but low on my priority list

Smoothie has little flavor - Edit
We had the quesadilla, mushroom pizza and a strawberry banana smoothie. Smoothie tastes like orange juice and the pizza mostly tasted of broccoli. I'd rather walk around the corner to hip city veg

fresh, vegan and delicious - Edit
My family is in DC for a vacation and we’re so glad we tried Fruitive! We enjoyed a clean and delicious breakfast made with the freshest ingredients. All plant based too. My son had the almond chocolate banana waffle and the berry immune liquid meal, hubby had the hail to the kale salad, and I had the avocado herb toast with a matcha latte. All dishes and drinks were excellent! Owner is super friendly and shared his story and love of vegan food with us. He then came back and gave us a slice of pizza to try on the house. Great experience. We are already planning our next meal there!

Vegan takeout near National Mall - Edit
Very convenient to Gallery Place and Metro Center metro stops, just walk a couple blocks and pick up some great vegan takeout and then walk a few more blocks down to picnic on the National Mall!

Chili and smoothie devoid of taste - Edit
We ordered the early riser wrap, which was very good. But the rest of the food, particularly the chili (which was soup and not actually chili consistency) and the warrior smoothie were tasteless. The avocado toast was also over salted. For the price point, it should have been much better.

The food is amazing! Avocado toast for the win! Also the bowls are awesome, too. - Edit
Everything we had was amazing. I want to go back for the pizza but the avocado toast was so delicious with the earthy flavor of the basil pesto on it. The PB & no J bowl was very good as well.

Nice food, like that it’s organic too! - Edit
Overall I enjoyed the food I had from here. I ordered takeout via Uber eats which made it super expensive though. $50 for a smoothie bowl and a sandwich. The food was delicious though and I like that it’s all organic.

Clean Eating - Edit
Was thrilled to discover that a full vegan establishment was near my hotel. Because of this, I stopped in for breakfast. I ordered the avocado toast and early riser breakfast burrito. The avocado toast was great - loved the pesto in it. They also do not short you on avocado. The burrito tasted wonderful but was a little to spicy for me. Yes, I know, completely subjective. Lol. Nevertheless I will likely return while I’m out here in DC.

Plant based fast/convenience food - Edit
Chain of restaurants with plant based convenience food. Well thought out concept and good food served in eco-conscious containers. Will definitely visit this and other restaurants in the chain in the future. Wish they had one in Baltimore.

Healthy vegan food - Edit
I worked here for a few months and I was not disappointed by the variety of smoothies and toast that they had. Fortunately, I got most of it for free because I worked there. Had I had to buy it, I probably would have gone broke. It's very geared towards yuppie yoga moms in central DC in the middle of a weekday, so understandably pricey, but still - healthy food doesn't need to break the bank.

Fruitive first experience - Edit
My daughter and I stopped by Fruitive because Happy Cow showed us that it was the closest vegan restaurant to us coming from the Apple store in DC. It’s a small quaint restaurant that I was very curious to try since they Lavell themselves as DC’s only “Certified Organic Restaurant “. I was a little shocked at how expensive EVERYTHING was. Almost everything was $10 and well over and this isn’t a full fledged restaurant. I’m fasting during daylight hours for Kwanzaa but I wanted my daughter to get something to eat. I got the Berry Immune smoothie (coconut milk, O.J., strawberries, pineapple, lemon & ginger) which was $12 JUST for the 16oz 😳. My daughter opted for the Cheese quesadilla. Unfortunately for her she didn’t realize it was a cashew cheese, which she’s allergic to🤦🏽♂️. It looked good though but we had to return it. Now I’m not sure if the prices were so high because it’s a so-called organic restaurant or because it’s in a high rent part of DC. Mind you, the quesadilla was on the childrens menu and was one of the cheapest food items $8. I am curious to stop back by but maybe in another location to see if the prices are the same

Food is prepared greatly and the menu looks amazing. My toast was a little charred though and for the money I expected my portion to be slightly bigger! I didn't leave with a full stomach
