Fantastic food, lovely atmosphere. A must-go! - Edit
I don't even know where to start with this place. We had dinner here and we LOVED it.
Read moreForget all about the fact that this place serves vegan versions of German food. They do, yes, and if you want to try some traditional German dishes in vegan form, go for it. But they serve *delicious* food, and that's the real thing you should take away from this review.
It is recommended to book in advance, I believe, since it's quite popular and their opening hours are a bit weird. Starters and mains were all very creative and excellent.
I'm confused by some of the other reviews. I had the mock duck and it was outstanding; great flavours and textures with a lovely blend between the different ingredients. Is it duck? No. But if you want actual duck, maybe you shouldn't be vegan.
Good selection of drinks, staff is nice, the inside is super cozy.
I'd eat here every day if Iived in Berlin.

Fancy place, great service, but disappointing main course - Edit
Pretty fancy restaurant with a focus on making vegan versions of traditional German cuisine.
Read moreAs a starter I had the pumpkin soup. It was delicious but I wished I had gotten some bread with it.
For the main course I had the fake duck, which was a mistake. I did not like it and the others I were with did not really either. Might've been my fault for picking something that tried to replicate a German dish so much.
I would not mind going back here and trying something else, like the lasagna.

Ich habe noch nie bessere deutsche vegane Küche gegessen. Ich habe fast jedes Gericht probiert und kein einziges hat mir nicht geschmeckt. Hervorzuheben sind die Käseecken und das Tiramisu.

A lot of good sorted, well made cocktails. The food was very good, with lots of local and seasonal products. The menu isn’t that long, but with all the dishes you’d need.

Nice German food experience - Edit
I went there alone because I could not make a reservation for 2. I had to make a reservation, and even if I did a few days in advance, the only spots available were all before 18:30 or after 20:00. I must say, the food was really good.
Read moreHowever, I was disappointed with the service… I was alone at a table four (but could not book for 2?) One of the waitress was really friendly but a little overwhelmed it seemed. I felt like The other waitress was just ignoring me and was a bit rude when I was talking to her.
The food was great, portions were big (the starter was so big I could not finish the main).
Still, I felt that it wasn’t worth the price.
Pros: Great starters, Good location
Cons: Unfriendly staff

The chefs day off? - Edit
We looked forward to some german vegan dishes, but were a bit dissapointed at the end. We both ordered the small soup of the day (pumpkin) as starters, it was okay but not WOW. The portion was big though.
Read moreMy husbond ordered the schnitzel with potatoes and red wine sauce.
I ordered the roulade with potato gratin and red wine sauce.
The roulade tasted like nothing else, coulnt barely eat it!? The sauce was clumpy and tasted like it was burnt. Something I wouldnt serve if I was the chef...
Anyway the gratin was great and tasteful!
Staff was nice and the seatings was not crowded :-)

Great food - horrible service - Edit
I wish I could give five stars. The food was excellent - the service was absolutely poor.
Read moreWe had a reservation for 7pm and arrived 15 minutes early. We were shown to a table, a few minutes later we were asked to move to another because they had made a mistake (no problem).
It took a while until we could order. We chose two main courses (no starters), the Schnitzel and the "Roulade". Both dishes were fantastic.
It was 7:50 when we were finished and asked for dessert. The answer: They would have to check with the kitchen if they could serve us dessert since they had another reservation for our table for 8 pm.
Seriously? What?
The waitress came back after a couple of minutes and told us, no, they were sorry, but they couldn't serve us dessert since it would take too long to prepare.
(Other guests obviously didn't have the same problem, they had desserts and seemed pelased.)
We were basically told to leave since they needed the table.
What would they have done if we had ordered starters? Thrown us out in the middle of the main course?
We were really disappointed. Another waiter talked to us and apologized. He offered to pepare some take-out for us on the house or maybe we could still have the table for another while if the awaited other guests were willing to sit outside (it was about 15 °C outside, so not very likely).
We declined and left. We weren't in the mood for their dessert anymore.
The food was great and I would have absolutely come back for it, but the bad service experience totally ruined it for us.

Everything was great. We booked a table beforehand (recommended, you can do it through their website).

the fried cheese appetizer was really good. It is something you don't get somewhere else. The staff was really nice and changed our dish because it was to bitter. The restaurant is super nicely decorated and they have a seating area outside. Definitely would come again and eat the cheese appetizer again.

Great food, and German! - Edit
Really nice atmosphere and German food veganised. The prices are a it high but it reflects the area and quality. Only resvation was that it was extremely formal which is a bit un-Berlin, but it's definitely a place to bring omni family members for a nice time. Especially grandparents!

Also.
Cons: Etwas höhere Preisklasse, Wechselnde Gerichte -> Nicht sehr planbar!

Yay for Schnitzel Mondays! 🙌 - Edit
Monday is Schnitzel Mondays (the original is served everyday), and there are a variety including Hamburg style with fried "egg", Vienna Style, Cordon Bleu, etc. It took a few bites for me to get to the cheesy part of the cordon bleu but it was worth the tease. Wish the cheese was a little more spread out throughout the patty (although may be difficult to). Also my friend has the original schnitzel and enjoyed hers.

Schnitzel love - Edit
Really cool to see a fully vegan restaurant that also does German cuisine as you can‘t find that very often. I had the schnitzel with potatoe as well as cucumber salad. It was soooo good! Would get it again next time. We also tried the goulasch, which was the weekly special. It was okay, but not great. The “meat“ was not tender enough to remind you of goulasch and the sauce was a bit too thin. The tiramisu we had for dessert was delicious. The girl who served us seemed to be new and slightly inexperienced, but she was very friendly so we didn‘t mind. Some dishes are slightly too expensive in my opinion, e.g. the tiramisu for 8 € and also some of the mains. Also, it was a bit strange that they had run out of their daily special soup at 7 pm. Overall pleasant experience and I would definitely come back to try other dishes or just get the schnitzel again. Worth mentioning the very clean bathrooms.

High-Quality Dining Experience - Edit
I've eaten here several times and always the food is delicious and I'm always satisfied. Last time around, among others, I tried the cheese wedges and seitan steak and if this wasn't a vegan restaurant, I would have wondered whether somebody in the kitchen may have slipped me real cheese and meat by accident. The taste was just incredible. I would recommend this establishment to anyone.

Better have a reservation - Edit
Many times tried to go there, no space. Finally I booked a table and event then I couldn't go there without a test. There was no information that the table was reserved inside. I would have booked it outside. I wanted only to seat outside, but there was no information that I need to tell that during booking. There will be more tries.

Best vegan cake in Berlin - Edit
While the food at Försters is amazing and should definitely be tried, their cake is what really blows my mind. I would recommend a specific flavour, but I don't think you can go wrong by trying any of their cakes. It's a bold claim, but I believe they've got the best cake in town!
