The best place to eat lunch in Funchal - Edit
My family and I visited for lunch. We ordered a variety of food (wraps, hummus, burger and soup).
Read moreThe menu has a mixture of vegan and vegetarian options -they also offer a daily soup of the day (which is usually vegan) and dish of the day.
We all enjoyed the food (including my parents who are not vegan), and returned for a second time.
The portions are good, the prices are also reasonable and the staff are friendly.

OK vegan falafel in a cozy environment - Edit
I ate the Middle East falafel tortilla and it was ok. The plate included french fries with mayonnaise, but is not to be eaten by the hungriest as the dish was kinda small. The flavours didn’t get me a wow-experience and is not on my top 10 best falafel I’ve eaten. However, the restaurant has a charming location and provides an inner garden where you can enjoy your meal.

We had the soup of the day, hummus and different wraps. Everything was very delicious, the staff was kind and we enjoyed the atmosphere in the sitting area outside.
Read moreOnly thing: I ordered the chocolate mousse which is made with orange. I don’t like this combination and it wasn’t mentioned in the menu otherwise I wouldn’t have ordered it.

A must for foodies on Madeira - Edit
Hip place that not only offers yummy vegan food but multilingual friendly staff. Very much enjoyed a vegan carrot soup with peanut butter, vegan Chinese style sweet and sour rice with veggies as well as a vegan sweet chocolate mousse. If you are really, really hungry, make sure you have delicious fries as a side.

Great falafel for good price - Edit
One of the few full vegan places in Funchal. Serve mostly falafel based food, like bowls/wraps and salade. Also small dips like hummus, baba ganoush and guacamole, and chocolate mouse or pans cotta as dessert. Taste is really good, just like their prices.

Finally found a good vegan/vegetarian option in Funchal. The service is nice and friendly. The soup of a day (carrot peanutbutter) was delicious followed by a asian falafel (with kim chi). Interesting snd tasty idia to put kim chi into Falafel wrap. I liked it ☺️ #Veganuary

We stopped at Fala Fala to have lunch. It is a cozy place in some supermarket area. The menu is short and consists of vegan and vegetarian dishes. It looks like they always have some soup of the day and dish of the day as well. We had dish of the day - Brazilian style black beans with rice, avocado, tofu and vegan chorizo; soup of the day - broccoli; and chocolate mousse. Everything was delicious, especially black beans, so soft.

So far this is the best food that we’ve tried in Madeira.
Went there the second time to try their wraps. Ended up having Madeiran and Asian falafel wraps and dish of the day which was rice with cauliflower and chickpeas. Everything was great!
3rd time @ Fala Fala. We tried dish of the day: vegan bean burger with vegan cheese on their home made bun. This was definitely the best burger that we’ve tried in Madeira. To top that off we had vegan carrot cake, I’m not a fan of carrot cakes in general but I did enjoy eating this one. Super tasty!
The waiter said that the cake was on the house since we had to wait for our food longer than usual. That was a very kind gesture.

We had two wraps (the Asian and the Madeiran one), both came with fries and vegan mayo. Liked both wraps a lot. We also had the vegan dessert (chocolate pudding) which was delicious as well. The service was nice, too. We will most certainly come again😄#Veganuary

Overeating in Fala Fala - Edit
This place was AMAZING!!! We’d just arrived at our hotel in the Old Town in Funchal and desperately looking for food! Thank you Happy Cow for sending us here! This place filled a HUGE-travelling hole perfectly. The wraps were amazing - came with fries - and we ordered more fries because we’re pretty greedy. The staff were amazing too and really attentive! #Veganuary

Secret gem downtown Funchal - Edit
Really delicious Middle Eastern / Madeira fusion food. Almost everything on the menu was vegan. Had the beetroot cabbage soup which was soo yums and the Madeira falafel wrap for the main. A refreshing Madeira tonic with rosemary and orange and for dessert a light and fluffy chocolate mouse. Great hidden gem downtown Funchal.

I visited this restaurant in Funchal as a vegan, and absolutely loved the delicious food. The staff were kind and welcoming and the outdoor seating area is very warm and comfortable.
