tasty but a little pricey - Edit
Okay while the food here is really good, I had to give this place four stars for the portion size to price ratio. They mostly do gourmet sandwiches and mac & cheese and that sort of thing; I had a reuben last time I went, which wasn’t bad but also probably wasn’t the best thing on their menu since it had way too much mustard for me, so I’ll have to go back to try something else and confirm my suspicions. But, they have a chocolate lava cake that you can get with vegan ice cream on top, and I think I could singlehandedly eat like fifteen of those things.

Amazing cheese! - Edit
Delicious food, cute venue and friendly staff. However prices are a bit steep at £7 or £8 (£10 for breakfast burrito) Good selection of toasties and sandwiches. Baked goods also available (including sad looking cheesecake not in a fridge). Only have filter coffee, and milk is 30p a splash! Take cards. Sit in, takeaway, or delivery.

Always awesome! - Edit
We have never had less than amazing food from Faceplant, and often it’s just sublime. Really creative owners who are always trying new sandwiches and other vegan delights. Too many great options to mention here - you’ll some in the pics but the cheeze and bakon they make themselves are just droolworthy and you will never go wrong with one of their toasties, including one piled high with mac and cheese (what will they think of next!) and the most amazing vegan tuna melt on the planet. Only drawback is we have a half hour drive but if anything is worth it, Faceplant is!

Sooooo good ⭐️ 🌟 ⭐️ 🌟 ⭐️ - Edit
The best grilled sandwich we’ve had in a long time. We both opted for the club med which was absolutely delicious and I already want to go back and work my way through the rest of the menu. Everything about this experience and food was exceptional! If you are nearby I really recommend going

Vegan junk for the soul - Edit
A well known name on the Edinburgh vegan food scene for good reason! Delicious Mac n cheese, toasties and other dishes they have made over the years. Okay prices for what you get and their own made vegan meat alternatives are also really nice.

Mac and cheese - Edit
I came across faceplant foods at the vegan market in 2019 and loved the macaroni so was excited to hear about the premises opening in town.
Read moreI tried the pesto macaroni which was £6.50 for a medium sized portion. It came with sun dried tomato, bacon bits and crispy onions on top which really added to the flavour. It isn’t always open so check opening hours before going. Will need to return to try a grilled cheese sandwich.
The staff here are really friendly and passionate about their venture which is fantastic to see as you don’t get that everywhere.

The perfect vegan treat. All made from scratch. Staff delightful. The mac n cheese with bacon is to die for. If you manage to catch them at Leith Market then you need to try their chicken burger too.

Happy to see they opened in Leith! - Edit
I had tried food from FacePlant Foods in vegan festivals and other events. So it was great to see they opened in Leith. Their sandwiches are always amazing and the shop is really close to Leith Links, so you can get some takeaway to enjoy in the park. Worth going back every now and then to try new things from their ever changing menu.

Delicious! Can’t wait to try more! - Edit
We came here today after we heard that they were having a soft launch opening of their new shop in Leith today and it was amazing! We had a croissandwich to share, a Reuben hot sandwich and a Hawaiian hot sandwich. Everything was delicious and particularly the vegan cheese. We’re really looking forward to seeing the full menu once they’re ready and trying some more of their delicious food. A great addition to Leith and handily situated close to the Links to sit out for a wee picnic with your food.

Great addition to the City Centre - Edit
I’d already tried FacePlant Foods’ offerings at a few festivals and at Mayze, but it’s exciting to be able to pop into the Colab location whenever I need to pick up a lunch during the week. Small but perfectly formed menu. Loved my toastie!

Cheeze Toasties - Edit
If you ever thought that what Glasgow needs is a take out place specialising in vegan cheese (or cheeze) toasties, you were right! Located in the Savoy Centre, when I visited this pop up there was a big queue but my Italiano cheeze toastie was worth the wait.

So much faux meat... - Edit
You can get some sandwiches for 4-5 pounds here which seems like a great vegan lunch option in the city centre. However, the amount of the faux meat (and cheese) on the sandwiches is huge and way too much for my taste.

Most fantastic caterers and food we have ever tasted - Edit
We used FacePlant Foods as the caterers for our wedding and that is one of the best decisions we have ever made in our life. The food was not only varied and incredibly delicious and might have turned people vegan overnight, but the service FacePlant Foods provided was so professional and exceptional that people are still talking about it. FacePlant Food deserve all the praise there is! Could not recommend them any more! Thank you you wonderful people!
