Best streetfood - Edit
The best streetfood I've tried.
Read moreThey had 3-4 different options, all of them a meal with various greens and rice with Ethiopian bread.
I was actually full, which I often don't experience with streetfood.
Pros: Great food, Great service

Vegan food stall near London Eye - Edit
The Southbank Centre Food Market is a five minute walk from the London Eye. While the stall may not offer the exact Ethiopian food you're used to in a restaurant, it was still tasty, healthy, and served quickly. The house special included okra, which I love!

Good food - Edit
I really loved the food. And it's quite affordable (£9 for the house special).
Read moreQuick service and friendly staff.
However, they do not give enough injera. They also cut it into small pieces. Injera is supposed to replace cutlery, but it's impossible to use it to grab food when it's cut that small.

Food market flavours - Edit
Although the Southbank food market stalls has lots of vegan options this is the only fully vegan one. Some great flavours and not as overpriced as other options here. Great flavours and great on this sunny day.

Delicious and filling - Edit
I had rice and couscous topped with salads and stews, plus slices of injera.
Read moreA delicious and filling portion.
Ask for the spicy sauce if you like spicy food!
It's not the traditional Ethiopian meal you'd have at a restaurant, it's adapted for a food market stall, so it's convenient to carry and you eat it with a fork.

Tasty but not Ethiopian - Edit
The food was tasty, but having eaten a lot of Ethiopian food (it's probably my favourite cuisine) this was not traditional, and apart from 1 dish was quite bland. The most disappointing part was the injera, this is a sour pancake used to eat the food with that your tear into pieces and scoop with. However they chopped it up into 1cm thick slices which although tasty made it useless for eating with. I asked to buy extra and they also chopped it up into tiny slices.
Read moreLike I said it was definitely tasty, but the people giving it 5* have all said they have never had Ethiopian food before, and this isn't quite what it should be. Shame as I purposely walked 30 minutes to go to a vegan Ethiopian food stand while on a day trip to London.
Pros: Tasty, Decent value , All vegan
Cons: Injera cut into thin slices, Not authentic Ethiopian food

Great selection of Ethiopian food - Edit
I always enjoy places where you can get a plate with samples of everything on it. For £9 here you can get a classic plate which comes with all the different delicious vegan Ethiopian foods at this little stall.

Average Ethiopian - Edit
Kind stall attendants/servers
Read moreThe food is average at best for Ethiopian, I have eaten Ethiopian food all over the world and had great experiences everywhere.
This was the first time I have seen cous cous mixed into the dishes which causes a “fusion” aspect I didn’t appreciate.
The injera servings were criminally small, definitely not enough to eat the plate in the traditional manner (scoping with the bread.)
All in all we wanted to love it, hunted it down due to the glowing reviews and were disappointed.
Save your appetite and solve your sweet tooth at the doughnut tent called “Galeta” in the same market that serves vegan donuts to die for!
(For far superior Ethiopan at much better prices visit Lalibela Ethiopian Restaurant in Camden/Kentish town.)
Pros: Kind people
Cons: Flavors are bland for the cuisine , Portions are small for 9 pounds, Location has no seating when busy

Not bad - Edit
A very high bar has been set for vegan Ethiopian food in London (Beza Ethiopian, Merkamo, Addi’s…) and honestly this place didn’t quite meet it. The portions were fairly small, and the dahls a little watery. You also get at least 50% of the meal as salad.

Pros: All vegan
Cons: Expensive , Small portion , Half salads

Happy Cow? Happy US! - Edit
Prior to a London visit to the South Bank with friends on 4/3/23 i searched Happy Cow for lunch options. Informal, outdoor, interesting vegan food while we took a pause in our walk along the SouthBank, Ethiopique did NOT disappoint! A tray dish of a variety of dishes with fresh interesting flavours, and amazing optional hot sauces really hit the spot.. Really glad i followed through and tracked this happy, vibrant street food stall down .. it was a perfect late lunch option to power us through the afternoon.. Thank you!
Read morePros: Fresh and delicious, Available at once, A different cuisine than those commonly offered
Cons: Bit tricky to locate on the Happy Cow app map, Tucked away tho was in a cluster of food outlets

Yummy Ethiopian Food - Edit
I popped by here after a long day at a conference, and this absolutely made my evening! Each individual dish was cooked and seasoned to perfection. So much love and care was put into every bean and grain of rice. Ethiopian food is one of my favourite cuisines, and this might be the best I've had recently. I went just before they closed, and there was still food available. It was packed up carefully for my journey home. Thank you!

Too Good To Go: Filling Food and Good Value - Edit
While browsing through Too Good To Go I saw Ethiopiques had a mystery box available which I decided to order for £5.
Read moreThe vendor is located in a popular market near the Waterloo bridge. When you walk up to the booth you can see a variety of dishes ready to be plated. The box came with a variety of dishes— I really enjoyed the salad but the chickpea dish and bean dish were not to my taste.
Overall Ethiopiques is a good value and I would return again.

Simply amazing - Edit
An all-vegan food stall located at the Southbank Food Market. Don't be fooled into thinking the food is simplistic. The flavours are AMAZING and the portions very filling. They have a dedicated following of people who work on the Southbank. Staff are chatty, very friendly and charmingly fend off any silly comments from passing carnivore punters.
