Very friendly staff. The vegan options are labelled. There are things like burgers, pizza and tacos on the menu and they have a vegan desert on the menu. I had a chickpea burger with a homemade bun. It was freshly prepared with tomatos, avocados and green beans in it and a salsa on the side which was good as the burger was a bit dry (but I liked it anyway).

Cheap home-style vegan food. - Edit
We tried the daily set menu for 5000 CLP. It consisted of a creamy soup as a starter, chickpeas and chard fritters with roasted potatoes as a main, and a banana cake for dessert. It was all really good, well seasoned and it filled us up enough. They also had other options for both starter and main, as well as many other dishes such as empanadas, tacos, salads, pizza, burgers etc. Staff was polite, quick and attentive, however it was quite busy and you could tell they could use an extra pair of hands. They also offer breakfast, alas we couldn't try it, as they only open at 12 on Sundays.

Only vegetarian place in San Pedro de Atacama so I'm happy it exists. It was just okay though and several of the items on the menu were not available. The woman that served us seemed neutral to us being there and didn't make much of an effort to make herself understood even though it was very obvious our Spanish was far from perfect. Before we visited we thought this would be the only place we'd go during our stay in the village but we ended up seeking out other places.

Lovely place with great vegan options!!! We originally planned on eating out only once but because "Estrella Negra" offered such delicious menues (consisting of starter, main and dessert), always with a vegan option and with great value for price, we ended up eating there three times in total. The staff was also very welcoming and helpful. Would love to come back and would definitely recommend!

We ate here for the majority of our meals in San Pedro de Atacama. The empanadas are HUGE and tasty. Definitely good value. We even got some to takeaway to eat while we were at the airport the next day and they were still good. The pizzas are yum. The vegan pizza is cheese less but has a really good sauce and heaps of yummy veggies, it’s served with a fresh salsa and a vegan garlic sauce which take it to the next level.

Once a time when we were there, we had the plata del dia and as desert some chocolate thing. It was amazing. When we asked if we could buy a little bit apart, we got a second bowl and after asking how much it costs, we found out we got it for free. Very good service of the cook.

The interior looks nice, although you should not look to the side, for there is an other restaurant that is just very simple and regular. Not bad, but not so interesting.

We usually rely on happy cow recommendation. This is the first time we have been so disappointed with a restaurant recommended by happy cow. The kitchen was unclean and the dishes tasted vile.

Very nice vegetarian restaurant with plenty of vegan options. Menu del dia at 5,500 pesos (5000 but you need to add 10% for service) was very good and 100% vegan.

I went there sometimes as it was the only veg option in San Pedro, but service was always dificult, it took long time for someone to notice you. The food was ok, sometimes poorly seasoned.
Read moreOne day I ordered an expresso which was charged nearly twice the price on the menu. We complained about it, but the waitress said the menu was out of date and that was the new price, even
though we had no prior warning. She acted as it was our problem that the menu was wrong, refused to correct the bill and was really rude. I had never experienced something like that, so outrageous!
Go somewhere else and avoid a headache!
Cons: Rude waitresses. Don't respect prices on menu.

I really enjoyed the vegan pizza, it was really simple but fresh. The vegetable empanada, on the other hand, had a fried veg filling that was off-the-charts oily! I'm not normally sensitive to excess oil either...

The vegan menu has several options. I had the corn soup, vegan lasagna and rice pudding. It is a deal for the priced fixe menu. I think it works out to $8. I am here for a few more days will be going back.
