Great Food in Chinatown 地道的中国菜 - Edit
The staff was super friendly and the food was really good! I got to have some of my favorites from China that I don't get at most Chinese restaurants in the States, like siji dou 豆豉茄子四季豆。

Terrific Chinese Food - Period! - Edit
Got the orange vegan chicken with broccoli. The orange sauce was delightfully fresh-squeezed orange tasting. The broccoli was crisp and fresh. A terrific lunch!

I can't even say how wonderful this meal was. Everything was spot on, and better than imagined. LOVE it here, I canceled other stops on my trip to eat here multiple days, happily. I wish Portland had one here, and I can't wait to visit again.

IT'S OVER! - Edit
Yes folks, it's over! Let's hand Enjoy Vegetarian (Vegan) the 👑 for Bay Area Veganism. I got a few posts on here with my nostalgic bench marks for Chinese food on what I looked for (growing up eating in Oakland Chinatown), specifically chow mein & fried rice. The slight char from the wok, hint of sesame oil, perfect amount of soy sauce. Enjoy Veg EXCEEDS them all. I want to come back immediately and try their mock meats. If I had to choose between the two to go w/ the mock meats, probably the fried rice. The char on the "pork" was superb. Price point? It's up there with "City" prices. But food ratio, quality, and taste matches the price. EASY 5 stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

All vegan Chinese restaurant - Edit
CNN Travel named Enjoy Vegetarian Restaurant as one of the top 50 Chinese restaurants in the country! M-F from 11am to 2pm there is a lunch special for $9.99 that includes an entree with brown or white rice along with a spring roll. Complementary tea is served yet didn't have it as I avoid caffeinated beverages.
Read moreEnjoy Vegetarian Restaurant is the second all vegan Chinese restaurant I've been to recently in San Francisco's Chinatown. The biggest challenge here is too much choice as there are 50 items to choose from for the lunch special & all of them are vegan so it is truly a vegan heaven!
One of my favorite things about Enjoy Vegetarian Restaurant is that the menu has pictures of each of the entrees so this gives you a good sense of what you order. I've often gone to other restaurants & what I think I'm ordering turns out to be something quite different.
I decided to order- L37 Kung Pao Tofu w/ Pepper & Broccoli宮保豆腐
As the picture menu showcased this entree had lots of broccoli & bell pepper which was what I wanted along with a good amount of tofu. The Kung Pao Tofu entree also comes with peanuts.
The Kung Pao Tofu was listed under the spicy section yet didn't find it that spicy yet the flavor was great & you can always ask for it to be more spicy. If you want more of kick there is hot sauce on the table to make it more spicy yourself.
Portions here are hearty so bring your appetite or bring a friend to share or bring your own tupperware to take home leftovers. Eating lunch here will give you some plant powered fuel to conquer the surreal epic hills nearby that makes San Francisco so famous & fun to explore.
Also worth checking out nearby is the oasis in the city & one of my favorite bookstores on the planet "City Lights Bookstore" which is just a four minute walk away.
I look forward to returning to Enjoy Vegetarian to try out some more of the 50 entrees. You can almost come here once a week for a year getting a different entree each week!
Pros: many choices, hearty portions

Great place if you’re looking for vegan Chinese food. Lots of options making it super hard to choose. Get the hot tea when you sit down 🫖🍵
Read moreWe got the golden boat appetizer, general Tso chicken and orange chicken with a side of rice.
Both were pretty good, and came in big portions. The golden boat was way more food than we thought. Took two takeout boxes home.
If you’re sensitive to wheat products they have GF options.
Pros: So many options

Comfortable restaurant in the heart of Chinatown. I ordered a "pork" dish that I wish I had taken a picture of as the presentation was so appealing. Good food, good service, good vibe. Reasonably priced.

Interesting Veggie Duck - Edit
The restaurant was clean and true to its cruelty-free mission. There were signs reminding you to not bring in any animal products and it felt like a very modern restaurant for those not wanting to dine in mom-and-pop shop settings.
Read moreMy partner and I tried ordering a few appetizers that we could take to-go since we weren't super hungry. They sadly said they were out of the Veggie Glutinous Rice which broke my heart, especially since we got there early afternoon.
Instead, we went for their Chili Dumplings and the Veggie Duck, the later of which intrigued me the most. I didn't know quite what to expect when we opened the box and saw the duck. It was essentially bean curd roll with a tangy sauce on the side, so nothing about it really screamed "duck" as I remembered. I definitely say this will be a pass for me moving forward. However, our dumplings were pretty solid as you'd expect from any Chinese restaurant.
Overall, a good spot to check out for vegan/vegetarian Chinese options but definitely stick with the main dishes.
Pros: Animal cruelty free mission is on point, Good takeout options

Great Vegan Chinese - Edit
Despite how busy they were, service was quick and friendly. The waitress was really helpful in choosing our dishes, which were steamed dumplings, taro pumpkin and fatty “pork”, tofu knots, and eggplant and string beans. Everything was delicious, but the stars were the flavorful eggplant and the tofu skin knots, which were sort of like eating chicken skin. The fatty pork was also really good and very different from anything we’d had before.

Delicious! - Edit
The fried tofu was way more salty than expected. The orange chicken was really good, and the vermicelli noodles were interesting but good covered in curry spice. The place smelled of cleaning products but I guess that means they cleaned at least.

Great food, many many options - Edit
We visited recently and really enjoyed the food. There were so many options, it was kind of shocking and difficult to pick entrees for a vegan who is used to few to no vegan options.
Read moreWe were served immediately and didn't have to wait too long for food. One of the waiters was a bit rude, but we weren't bothered. We look forward to being able to visit next time we're in the area.
