Great options - Edit
Came here with my parents when they were in town. They were happy with the many meat options and I was happy with the many vegan options. Waitstaff was friendly and seemed knowledgeable. I’m from Texas originally and this the only vegan Mexican food I’ve had here that I’ve really enjoyed. They have a little fridge filled with different house made salsas- their verde was the best!

Delicious Mexican food - Edit
They had a decent vegan menu!! Burritos, tacos, nachos. We got nachos and a soyrizo burrito which was delicious. We also had chips and salsa and we were stuffed!! Would definitely go back. The service was also very fast.

Questionable - Edit
Food was mediocre and the place was dirty, wouldn’t eat here if you’re strict veg or want clean fresh food, only dive Mexican food.

Unique and delicious - Edit
El Borracho prides itself on offering unique flavors, which very much extends to the vegan portion of their menu. Fillings range from flavorful sautéed mushrooms, to potatoes and peppers, to soyrizo, all topped with optional vegan cheese and sour cream, not to mention guacamole and your choice of salsa from the salsa bar. Also, the drinks are cheap and delicious, if that’s your thing.

Dreaming of Nachos - Edit
They have a vegan section on their menu! That makes it easy. My husband and I split the Vegan Nachos with Soyrizo added. They were amazing: gooey, loaded, perfectly soggy like nachos should be. Then we each got a taco, but by that point I was full.
Read moreIf I remember correctly, they told us that the cheese sauce on the nachos is made from Daiya and nutritional yeast? There must be some sort of liquid added but I can't remember. I was asking because we were trying to avoid cashew, which we did.
I'd go back again just for the nachos.
Pros: vegan section of the menu, big portion of nachos
Cons: busy area

Great Mexican food, with featured vegan options - Edit
El Borracho is a great place to grab a filling vegan burrito for lunch, or to meet for margaritas and nachos after work. They have featured "vegan vittles" on their menu, which include burritos, tacos, and nachos - and not just the everything-but-the-meat kind, but they have three vegan options for fillings or toppers: mushroom, potato, and soyrizo. They also offer vegan cheese and vegan sour cream

Tacos! - Edit
Thank goodness for Happy Cow and for El Borracho near Pike Place Market in Seattle. I hadn't expected difficultly finding vegan items on the menu in Seattle, but I was mistaken in that assumption. I had the mushroom taco and the potato taco. The mushroom taco was a bit difficult to eat because it had mushroom juices, but was very flavorful. The potato taco was fine, but I would try another menu item next time. The atmosphere feels like a well-worn bar just shy of being a dive. The service was friendly and fast.

I Still Dream About Those Nachos - Edit
Hands down, the best nachos I've ever tasted! In a short stay, I went back to order the nachos a total of FOUR times!!! El Borracho makes vegan nachos and even my non-vegan dinner partner loved them so much she ordered some more! If anyone asks me what to do in Seattle, I recommend eating these nachos (I'm not joking!).

don't sell me a soyrizo taco with no soyrizo in it - Edit
Looked pretty vegan friendly with several vegan options. Fellow vegans, we need our protein. Don't sell me a potato taco masquerading as a soyrizo taco. It's far cheaper for restaurants to feed you carbs but I require a nutritionally balanced meal. When mentioned, the waitress took it off the bill; I hadn't taken more the 2 bites.

Vegan Friendly Mexican food - Edit
We stumbled on this restaurant by chance, and it is now one of our favorites. Very vegan friendly. It appears to be popular with locals and gets quite busy during happy hour. But go then anyway, the prices are a steal. We had vegan tacos and vegan nachos that were delicious. Can't wait to try their other choices.

great lunch - Edit
We stop in here with some friends and had a great lunch. My hubby & I enjoyed the vegan tacos. The mushroom tacos were by far the best. I enjoyed my potato one as well. And hubby also had the tofu taco. They have a salsa bar, but not labeled if they were vegan so that was a little bad. Chips and salsa were good and the pineapple jalapeño margarita was perfect. Great service. Our friends enjoyed meaty tacos and were very happy.
