Authentic flavors from Mexico - Edit
Kudos to a wholly plant-based venue! Awesome flavors and quality and we Ol folks even navigated the QR code ordering.
Read moreI tried the three tacos that were GF and would say skip the faux shrimp - we’ve had better alternatives (like hearts of palm) the Al Pastor taco was very good, the tofu chorizo almost as good. My partner had the Chipotle potato bowl and was impressed! I don’t think that was GF but it sure looked good! Next time I’d order black beans, rice, guacamole and one taco. Woo hoo GO PLANTS!
Pros: All plant based! Everything , Mexican without dairy cheese, yeah!, Dynamic location at lively pikes place mkt
Cons: Would have liked to have advice from a server

Good service, decent food, all vegan - Edit
We got the soyrizo, egg, and potato shorty, chips and salsa, and 3 tacos (chipotle potato, seitan barbacoa, impossible burg'r). The shorty was mostly potato, but still decent. The impossible taco had good seasoning though. Chips were also pretty good. Staff was friendly, and food was delivered quickly. Prices aren't too bad, it's about $4-5 for a taco, or $13 for a burrito. All vegan though!

Affordable and fun - Edit
I must always stop for a fully vegan Mexican restaurant. Many thanks to the owner for keeping this running during the pandemic. Everything was incredible and hit those cravings. Non vegan dinnet partner said the vegan queso was fantastic

NACHOS!!! - Edit
2021: I'm delighted to see El Borracho went all vegan. They have so many more options! I have fallen in love all over again!
Read more2016: They serve the best vegan nachos in town. The burrito is also excellent, but the tacos are skimpy. It gets pretty busy in here. Service is quick. If you're jonesing for Mexican, go here.

I hope this was just a fluke. - Edit
We recently came here after they became 100% plant-based. Maybe they weren’t 100% ready to open yet?
Read moreWe waited a very long time at our table because no one told us we had to order on our phones.
The food was OK, but it was served to us on to go plates even though we were dining in. It was almost laughable when we ordered another round of chips and it came in a small paper bag again.
One of my party didn’t get their food until everyone else was done eating.
There were no signs on the wall showing where the bathroom was.

Honestly one of the best fully vegan restaurants I’ve been too. Ample outdoor seating, innovate menu items, and simply delicious food. Strong drinks as well!

Large portions - Edit
After an afternoon of wandering around the city I stopped by here for lunch. I ordered the nachos and a lemonade. The portion was large and I could only finish half of it. I’d definitely return to try the other menu items.

Decent - Edit
Plant based vegan Mexican food and bar. Nachos were the best thing on the menu. All flavors seemed to have a bit of spice to them. Not huge portions.

Really good food apart from the burritos. They are much like a frozen burrito you would buy at a grocery store.

I really wanted to love it - Edit
Amazing menu, so fun to have an all vegan option in Pike Place. BUT, totally disappointed! First of all, no one explained to me that you order from the QR code at the table- kind of annoying for me to have to type in my credit card every time I wanted another dish but oh well, liked that it saved paper. Second of all the portions were TINY. The side of chips and queso was $7.95 and we were given an 8 oz paper cup only 1/4 of the way full, super bizarre and so sad because it tasted really good. The tacos were also very tiny, looking through pictures posted on here the ones I ordered came half that size. They were decent but nothing special. The “shorty” burrito and stiff margs were the highlight for sure. The prices are high for how small the portions were. Overall just really sad about this place, I wanted to love it! Side note: I get that’s it’s the pandemic but since we were dining in I wish we had been given reusable dining ware to eat off of, so much waste with all the disposable dishes (even though I’m glad they were compostable).

Excellent vegan choice in Pike Place area - Edit
Food and drinks were all good. Service was quick and friendly. Facilities were clean.
Read moreMy family stopped in here while on vacation. We got an assortment of tacos (chipotle potato, soyrizo w egg & potato, el pastor, and barbacoa), chips and salsa, and the barbacoa burrito. We also had some Chardonnay wine and the Pineapple Jalapeno Margarita.
My wife is a connesuer of chips and salsa and she said these were some of the best she ever had.
My daughter loved it but struggled a little bit with the spice level of some of the items.

Good service but pricey for what you get - Edit
The location is nice, and we WANT to love and support any plant-based restaurant. However, when the food was delivered it was a real mix for us. The shrimp taco was tiny and honestly wasn't very good. The shrimp burrito was bigger, but still their version of shrimp is just not good-tasting. The potato taco was a little better sized and much better tasting. We ordered the Horchata which was extremely good but very pricey given the amount in the glass. Overall I'd have to say I was disappointed based on other reviews. They told us they've only been reopened for 7 weeks, so I'm sure they are still ironing out some of the kinks. Service was very quick.

GREAT VEGAN FOOD @ PIKES MARKET! - Edit
While others were being somehow amused by dead and dying fish being tossed around at the market, I enjoyed a great vegan Mexican lunch right around the corner! Had the chipotle potato shortie burrito with chips and salsa - the portions were large and the food was delicious, fresh, and tasty! Check out the help-yourself hot sauce assortment in the fridge! Also, cool ordering system... just sit down and scan your table code, complete your order on your phone, and they bring your food right out for you! Cool place!

Great Mexican vegan food - Edit
Good quick place to grab a bite to eat while touring pike place market. With kids you must eat in the back dinning room. During COVID many places have added order at the table menus which takes a bit of the interaction away from a place. But the food is great.

Nothing special but very cool that the entire place is vegan. I ended up trying almost all the tacos and they were all very good. Side note: you order from a QR code on the table. This was a little confusing for newcomers ;).

Best vegan Mexican in Seattle - Edit
Never ate here prior to them being plant-based, but after learning they’ve gone 100% vegan, it was a must to visit. And the verdict is that the food is so delicious. It’s not greasy and good quality. It’s great that they have a variety to choose from. Love the jackfruit, seitan and tofu options.

Okay... - Edit
I was underwhelmed with my food. The chips in the nachos were not crunchy (may be due to them being drowned in toppings and getting it to go and not being able to eat them until 15 minutes later). Also I had a difficult time distinguishing the refried bean taste in the nachos (wonder if they were accidentally left out). Besides the jalapenos, the nachos were not that flavorful and the chips were soft. Besides nachos, there are tacos and burritos. Although there are only two flavors of each on the menu (although you can customize items - subject to an additional charge).
Read moreEditing my review as I visited in March and did not realize that they turned fully plant based (according to happycow), I'm assuming there are more options. I'm assuming the menu and recipes have had a revamp and I will pay them another visit.

Yummy burrito and cheap margaritas - Edit
I loved the vegan burrito! I wished I would be able to eat two of them! The portions are big though, so I had troubles finishing mine. It was really really great though. I was also very happy about the cheap and tasty margaritas. The place itself is not in a nice location and also doesn't have such a great vibe. Without finding it on happy cow I would have walked past it. That's a total bummer since the food is really tasty and worth stopping here!

A great multitude of vegan options! - Edit
We stayed at The Thompson Hotel nearby and had no vegan options at restaurants or room service (except booze)... but we felt fortunate to find El Borracho has many vegan options! Vegan tacos, burritos and the most amazing vegan nachos (with soyrizo, decadent vegan sour cream, and a heaping pile of guacamole and salsa)! We ordered take out burritos to bring back to the less than vegan friendly Thompson for dinner later (and they were delicious and hearty enough to soak up all the booze). The patio area is dog friendly and the staff was pleasant and attentive. They brought our huge dog a bowl of water and the service was quick. This place is insanely busy as this is located in the heart of downtown Seattle's top tourist destination.

Cons: If you dont like people watching and crowds, avoid
