Delicious vegan food

Great vegan food, very friendly staff! We had the v steak, amemex burger, Garvey wrap, and rotisserie chickun - all delicious! Also offer vegan cupcakes and several flavors of vegan ice cream. Cupcakes were great and so was the vegan butter pecan ice cream.

Excellent Eats

So far this is Delaware's only vegan restaurant. The restaurant is located in front of the beautiful Riverfront. The owner, Abundance, is very very very friendly and even offers vegan cooking classes. My favorite meal is the V-Steak and the raw cheezecake (its delicious). If you are ever in the area definitely stop by and try this restaurant out.

Pros: Great Food, Great Atmosphere, Great People

Cons: None

Delicious

I'm making this my 1st review on happy cow because it was so good! I checked the app on a road trip and this restaurant came up. It was hard to find because it's actually inside of an ice cream shop that's hidden away behind planet fitness. I was pleasantly surprised with the food though! I ordered the dsk deluxe sandwich which is a seitan fried "chicken" sandwich. I had to order another for the road it was so good! My boyfriend ordered the fried "fish" and greens and potato salad special. The fish was made out of hearts of palm and tasted delicious as well. If I'm ever in the area again I'll go back!

Pros: homemade , friendly , best vegan soul food place and it's up north?

Cons: hard to find

rude

When I walked up to the counter the female told me to order at the register and continued to talk on the phone usually in specialty restaurants the staff will ask if you have any questions I then proceeded to sit down to look more at the menu and figure it out on my own then my husband went up to the counter and was trying to pronounce something on the menu it felt like the female was trying to correct my husband then my husband said can we have two waters she directed us to the cooler I wanted a glass of water but not a bottle but I guess that was not an option me and my husband work hard for our money and didn't feel like this establishment was somewhere to spend our hard earned money me and my husband did not feel welcomed at all I only gave 2 stars because that was as low as I could go

A friendly place with good food

My wife and I ate at Drop Squad on a Friday afternoon. There is no problem finding the place if you follow the signs to the ice cream parlor at the back of the building along the river. Look in the printed menu for the vegan food; pay no attention to the items on the blackboards. We had the falafel sandwich and the Amexan burger. Both were very good and come with sweet potato fries. Try the hibiscus tea; it has the right amount of ginger and sweetness. For desert we had the raw Apple crisp which was also very good. The food is made fresh and the staff is very friendly and helpful. In addition, there is a wide range of people coming into the restuarant from students to office workers so the people-watching is interesting while you enjoy the food.

amazingly tasty and friendly

We found Drop Squad Kitchen while on a road trip and made a special stop just to visit. We were so glad we did! The entire crew was amazingly friendly and I think we met every single person as they brought out different items. First, try their hibiscus tea--it's lemony and gingery and just perfect. We tried the V-Steak and the DSK Deluxe. The V-Steak sauce is a cashew-nutritional yeast-based sauce, which I loved. We liked it so much we ordered a second one to go. I also got the Deity Salad, which had a flavor-filled dressing. I'm not sure what was in it, but it was fresh and bright and lemony and amazing. I was incredibly impressed with the rich flavors in each item we ordered. Finding it is not that hard--just follow the signs to get the correct address. It's inside the ice cream parlor at the same address.

Pros: amazing flavor, healthy, that tea!

Cons: kind of hidden location

Room for Improvement

Being that this is the only 100% vegan restaurant in Delaware, it deserves support. However, there is certainly room for improvement.

I ordered the DSK Delux and the V-Steak. Both items came with sweet potato chips.

DSK DELUX:
A fried faux-chicken patty on a wheat bun, with lettuce, sauce, red onions, and tomatoes. I don't like tomatoes so I requested they be withheld. I received tomatoes. No big deal; I simply removed them. The sandwich was decent, but there was nothing that stood out particularly as far as flavor.

V-STEAK:
Personally, I didn't like it. I think it may have been the sauce, which I was hesitant to get, but decided to try anyway. I wonder if a vegan mayo would make this better (for me). Served on a fresh ciabatta-like mini bun with onions and red & green peppers. The "steak" was like seitan bits. I couldn't get past my dislike of the sauce so any other flavor was lost on me.

The portions are very small. Think happy meal size, which would be perfectly fine if it wasn't $10 ($9.95) per item.

The owner's daughter was very pleasant, friendly, and helpful.

It is located inside of Molly's Ice Cream, in the Wilmington Riverwalk area. It cannot be seen from the main road/ street. You can park in one of the lots near the Planet Fitness & Boy Scouts store and walk behind that building, where you'll find the Molly's Ice Cream store & a Drop Squad Kitchen sign in their window.

I wish this place well and hope they improve and grow. I would be willing to give them another try.

Pros: 100% vegan, only vegan option in DE

Cons: small portions , over-priced for what you get, hard to find if you're unfamiliar with the area
