DoppleGanger

DoppleGanger is a nice 100% plant-based restaurant that seems very instagram-friendly. You order your food on an iPad at your table instead of ordering from an employee. This is nice because they have many options to choose from with pictures and mostly helpful descriptions included. The food is beautifully presented; however, I felt let down when it came to the taste of the food. My dining partner and I ordered the Quack Fries, Spicy Chirp Burger, and The No Bob burger. The quack fries was probably the best of the three, but there was a flavor that didn’t work for me on top of the delicious air baked fries. The chirp burger had a strong vinegar taste—my dining partner ordered this and hated it because the coleslaw had cilantro/coriander in it (he really hates the taste of this herb), we’d recommend they list this ingredient in the description since there are a lot of people with an aversion to cilantro/coriander. My burger was good but the patty was off-putting since it tasted mostly of herbs. Because of this, I wasn’t able to eat half of this burger. So in sum, nice place for Instagram-worthy food but the taste could be better (and they should consider listing all ingredients).

So good!

A day out to Cambridge so we needed somewhere for lunch. Happy Cow came up with this place so we decided to give it a go. So glad we did, the place was really clean and bright, the staff were friendly and informative and didn’t ask us eight times if we were enjoying our food (I absolutely hate that). We could see the food being prepared and were amazed at the amount of ingredients used for each burger. I can highly recommend Not Bobs Burger it was perfect. We were eating an early lunch and, even though I was not even particularly hungry, I devoured the lot 😋I would definitely recommend eating here, we’ll be coming back to try the loaded fries!

Pros: All vegan so no juggling components , Excellent food and delicious crispy chips, Non Vegan husband loved it too

Cons: Not the cheapest but totally worth it.

Best Vegan Burger I’ve Eaten!

I think the title says it all !
This was hands down the best burger I’ve had to date loads of nice balanced complementary flavours going on in the sauce and tasty Seitan on top Yum Yum ! Nice air fried fries !
Loads of other things to choose from wish I lived closer ! X
Burgers are massive and really saucy would be hard to eat if you have a big beard 😂

Pros: Tasty, Friendly

Over-the-top but delicious vegan burgers

Love this place! It's all vegan, and their burgers are loaded with toppings. Even though everything is air-fried, I still found that I was barely able to get through my entire burger because it was piled so high. The loaded fries are also amazing, and I love that they do a limited edition special burger that's usually something creative.

Pros: All vegan, Burgers loaded with tons of toppings

Cons: Not much seating

Food actually only deserves two stars

We came here on our day trip to Cambridge and I was really excited to try out that place as there aren’t too many fully vegan restaurants in Cambridge. What can I say? The food was just disappointing. You order at a tablet and staff was super friendly and helpful on the day. We ordered two burgers, the loaded fries and the famous brownie shake. The Bbk burger was good, but the Dopple wasn‘t nice at all. It was soaked in some super heavy orange sauce (ranch sauce?), that killed all other flavours. Same with the loaded fries, soaked in the same sauce. Unfortunately, we couldn’t eat the fries at all. They need to be crispy and not completely soaked. Can‘t understand why so many people love them. You do have the option to offer less sauce, but I didn’t know that it’s that bad. The shake was actually super nice, but ridiculously expensive. I wanted to try it, but £7,5 is too much for a drink. Make it half the size and half the prize and people can actually enjoy it. It just get‘s too much. In general prices are quite high. Definitely similar to London. Couldn‘t spot any restrooms.

Over priced

Me and my partner came here, with my dad and brother (both meat eaters) last night. I was really looking forward to it as I have been on a diet and this going to be a treat. My brother and dad really enjoyed their food. However me and my partner didn't. I don't know if for me there waa just too much going on in the burger, but I did feel aa though it was to compensate for the bland burger patty itself. The burgers a choc full of ingredients which makes it difficult to eat, and quiet frankly way overpriced. We paid £50 for 2 burgers 2 loaded fries and 2 drinks. I also feel like ordering on an i pad at the desk a bit gimmicky and makes you feel rushed into choosing so people behind can order too.

Overall would not recommend.

Pros: Staff very friendly

Cons: Overpriced , Over complicated to order , Cramped

Delicious Burgers with a Fresh Flair

Ordered the Hot Chirpy, Quack Fries and Real Kombucha. Partner ordered the BBK and Salted Caramel Chocolate Brownie Thick Shake. It was all delicious and also had its own flair e.g. full brownie blended in the thickshake and pieces of pear on the BBK. All the flavours worked very well. Would definitely recommend.

Pros: Burgers, Comfort Food

Cons: Cost is a little expensive

Tasty and original

Fantastic little vegan burger place where you can order on iPads. Called the Doppelganger as the burgers are very realistically meaty! Delicious flavours.

A step ahead!

It's a trendy place with a great menu and loads of options. It's a brilliant fast food alternative, with decent portion sizes too. The staff were very friendly and helpful. On the other side it's fairly pricey and the patty taste was not as good as I expected and very rich in flavour.

Pros: Vegan commited , Great staff, Wide range of options

Cons: Expensive , Taste of dopplepatti

Very friendly staff, many options of different burgers, brilliant place!

I could barely believe that a place like this had opened up. The staff were really friendly, smiley and knowledgable about the food. There are a few different vegan burgers to choose from, including the BBQ, which I had and the LOL burger which my partner had. You choose whether you want fries or not (they are good) and sources come at request with no extra charge. My partner has a very sweet tooth and decided to go for the cherry and wine brownie which he adored! There are plenty of drinks options, including milkshakes, juices, wine and beer, with bottles of fresh tap water by the till for you to take free of charge. The portions are really decent, and the atmosphere was good, with some of my favourite tracks being played on the speakers! Would definitely go again.

Pros: Loads of vegan options, Condiments free of charge, Lovely, happy staff

Cons: Not cheap, but worth it

Slightly disappointing

Very friendly staff and nice set-up. Lots to choose from although some items on the menu were not available. The burgers looked great when they arrived. The disappointment was really in the taste. There was too much sauce and the flavour/texture was ok. The fries were very tasty. Maybe expectations were too high based on previous reviews but for me it was only ok - not great.

Pros: All vegan , Friendly staff, Looks great

Cons: Too much sauce, Taste was ok

Fantastic helpful staff

Popped in on a recent visit to see my family in Cambridge. One of our party has some mobility issues & extra support needs & would struggle with the high seating that makes up the majority of the available seating. The staff could not have been more helpful in preparing a lower table (the only one!) so that all the party could sit together. They also bought over an iPad so we could order from the table and sensing how hot we all were (given it was the hottest day of the year to date!) quickly bought us over some water. It felt like nothing would have been too much trouble. It is also incredibly easy to personalise the menu items yourself so can add or leave out particular ingredients or have items with or without the bread without feeling fussy or like you are being a pain. The burgers were delicious too. Definitely recommended!

Pros: Vegan & delicious, Tasty

Cons: Not in Birmingham!

Amazing food and amazing service!

The salted caramel brownie milkshake is one of the best things I’ve ever eaten in my life. You could probably take a milk drinker here and they wouldn’t notice the shake was vegan.

Simply delicious food

Small but perfectly formed eatery, iPad self serve and pay, and menu selection shows the actual dish (to start your mouth watering). The burgers are exceptional, beautifully presented with great flavour combinations (one had pickled pear garnish). Highly recommend the Quack fries and the Jack fries - two of the BEST loaded fries that the family have ever tried. If you have room try the ch*esecake too. Gets busy, so reserve seating ahead of time if possible. Also on Just Eat/Deliveroo I believe.

Pros: 100% vegan, friendly & happy staff, open prep area

Cons: Needs more restaurants!!

Great burgers, great sides, great place!

This place is fantastic. The menu is top notch for vegan burgers, with a really broad range of styles - the hoisin BBK or the wakame Surf n Turf. The menu always seems to be improving with new extras. I also adore the sides, especially the quack fries - it's a bit reminiscent of duck pancakes but guilt free!

Also the cheesecake is really rich and sticky, with strong fruity flavour - lovely stuff.

Pros: Variety of styles, Quick and friendly service, Great local beer (Calverley's)

Cons: It isn't cheap (but it is worth the price IMHO), Sometimes no tables free

Fast food style space with self service menu. The food here was absolutely amazing - all vegan. The quack fries were enough for two, and each burger had a bunless option available. I love this place and will be coming back again and again and again.

The best vegan burgers in town

Absolutely delicious burgers, and some great innovative flavours if you catch them on a "Dopple Taste Off" night. The mushroom balls are also to die for!!

Staff are all very friendly and efficient, and the place is modern and well decorated. The fancy ipads used for ordering are quite exciting too if you're not used to it!

Pros: Delicious food, Nice vibe, Friendly staff

Cons: Quite expensive
