Epic hangover food! - Edit
I had the worst hangover on Saturday but eating at the amazing Desert Island Dumplings definitely made me feel TONS better!
Read moreDesert Island Dumplings is housed within the legendary Affleck's Palace in Manchster, and is well worth a visit, highly recommend!
We shared a Hungry Heart Big Boy Combo Box, which contains 4 dumplings each (we had the hoisin mock duck dumplings and the salt & pepper chikn flavour dumplings) 2 sides and 2 drinks. Chips & vegan gravy – yum yum yum!!!
Pros: 100% vegan, Fun friendly vibe

A unique dumpling experience! - Edit
I really like that the fillings are completely different from your regular dumpling offerings. We got the cheeseburger ones which were super tasty. The menu is full of deep-fried delights. A little on the pricey side for the size, but definitely worth a visit.

Worth the trek to the third floor! - Edit
So good!
Read moreVisited here for my boyfriend's birthday (very kindly letting me choose the venue ha!)
We chose the 'Come Together' Combo box in which you get 8 dumplings, salt and pepper chips plus salt and pepper hash browns!
You get to choose the dumpling fillings so asked for 2 of each from the menu. We somehow got 12 dumplings instead of 8 but I wasn't complaining! Some of the flavours weren't too strong and it was occasionally difficult to determine which was which, but the Hoisin Duck and the Cheeseburger ones were incredible! Next time I will definitely get these ones! Looking forward to trying some of the other menu items too!
They also do breakfasts which is interesting! They have a nice little setting with board games to play and you can also graffiti some of the tables if you so wish!

We got the Hungry Heart, definitely enough for 2, well worth £24. Poutine chips were amazing and the Kale was really good, could eat a full tray of that !

Mmmmmm, dumplings - Edit
It's a Simpsons-themed cafe that sells tasty scran, what's not to like! It's located on the 3rd floor of Afflecks, which is a really cool spot in Manchester with lots of quirky shops. We got the Hungry Heart combo box between the two of us, and we were FULL afterwards. We had the Hoisin Mock Duck dumplings, which were very nice. The Drunk Udon noodles were insane, and the salt and pepper chips hit the spot. Staff are friendly and helpful too. Highly recommended!

Delicious dumplings! - Edit
My omni siblings and I went here for lunch and we all loved it! The dumpling fillings were all really unique. We got the shawarma, hoisin duck, cheezburger and the special, which was ham, cheez and pineapple. Would have loved to try the salt and pepper chik'n but it wasn't available on our visit. We also shared a portion of poutine and salt and pepper chips between us. The staff here were so lovely and chatty. Sadly they told us they had to remove a lot of their Simpsons branding, which was part of the attraction for us. They did still have Simpsons Hit and Run on the Wii, which was very nostalgic and we had a lot of fun playing. As we went on a Sunday, it was quiet (half of Afflecks is shut on a Sunday) but I can imagine it gets extremely busy. The place is tiny with only a few tables and it was very hot in there too.

Pros: Incredible dumplings!!, Amazing staff , Simpsons Hit and Run
Cons: Very small space, Uncomfortably warm in the height of summer , Most of the Simpsons branding has bee removed

Well worth the climb to the 3rd floor - Edit
I'm a dumpling virgin, no, not the nasty type that stuffs the railways and the NHS.
Read moreDumpling, to me, is a suet ball, how wrong can I be!!
Very light and flavoursome, a true delight.
As other people have said, rather small, but plenty big enough, as there were only 2 of us.
I had a mixed box of 10 dumplings, far too many to eat in 1 sitting, so they are for tea tomorrow.
I'll return next time I am in Manchester
Pros: The weely specials make the day, Very nice people serving behind the counter, 3rd floor of Affleck, what a view outof the window
Cons: The serve drinks from the Coca-Cola company

Queen of dumplings has a permanent home - Edit
Desert island dumplings have been a popular popup in the north of England for a few years and now have a permanent home in Afflecks Arcade. Amazing dumplings in a wide variety of flavours, with regular specials. Lots of sides such as deep fried kale, and hash brown poutine which was amazing! Definitely heading back for breakfast dumplings in future!!
