Part of buffet restaurant group in Portugal, this one est. 2015 and converted to all-vegan in 2018. Self service, all-you-can-eat style. Offers an all-vegan spread with a variety of of dishes for lunch and dinner. Beverages and dessert are separate from the buffet price. Open Mon-Sun 09:00-23:00.

Amazing buffet - Edit
Daterra is a restaurant which offers a vegan buffet. Drinks and desserts are not included but can be bought for extra money. I had three plates of fresh vegan goodnesssss!

We both ordered the chilly burger and it did not disappoint, it was really good! The only con we have from our experience is there was a miscommunication with the kitchen and we ended up waiting a long time for our food. The staff did informed us and apologized. Otherwise we will be coming back for breakfast since there menu looks amazing!

The venue is a clean, simple space that creates a positive setting for the healthy, tasty, yet often simply prepared food. The buffet items are varied and delicious, from simple salads to more complex dishes, such as vegan Wellington.
Read moreThe array of dishes changes frequently, topped up by efficient staff, and you can go back as many times as you wish for the flat price - the only problem is knowing when to stop.
Desserts are separately priced but just as lovely - the brownie and banoffee pie ( more of a banana cream pie) impressed.
Good value.
Pros: Delicious and healthy food, Reasonably priced, Good location in the city's old town

The buffet offer a lot of options and they keep bringing new things, so everytime you finish your mal and go grab something more you’ll be surprised with something new. The drinks and desserts are off the buffet price, but it’s worth it checking out the desserts (at least the chocolate pie, which I tried and was delicious).

The vegan dream - Edit
I went here after finishing 1000km on the Camino de Santiago and this was definitely the best reward I could wish for! They have a great variety of food and everything is healthy and vegan. I felt deeply nourished afterwards and will go again for sure.

Camareros muy amables, comida muy rica, un montón de opciones veganas desde ensaladas diferentes a elaboraciones menos típicas pero muy ricas también. Tiene un precio muy económico para todo lo que ofrecen, el buffet de día sale 9,5€ y el de noche 11,5€. Comida sana en mayor medida, bastantes fuentes de proteína a elegir como seitan, tofu o legumbres.

Food was great! Our waiter was unfriendly when he found out we were American. - Edit
When our waiter found out we were American he became very rude to us. Claiming he didn’t understand anything we said. Meanwhile we watched and heard him speaking English to a British couple. We even did best to translate into Portuguese for him. He ignored my granddaughter and while bending over backwards for the other tables next to us. Again the food was fantastic. Rest of the staff seemed pleasant.

Read moreYou pay for drinks and per people, you can load up your plate repeatedly. I think it is open Monday to Sunday, and there was a queue of people waiting for a free table to be seated on Sunday, does it need to say more?
Clean interiors, outside seating, modern furnishing, friendly staff.
Perhaps a bit unclear when visiting for the first time, we visited twice.
There is a daTerra in Gaia but this one is much better!
