Takeout this time. - Edit
Ordered the burger for takeout. No tomatoes available but was able to add red onion and a pickle. Didnt like the dressing that came with the greens, would get fries. Would order the burger again. Atmosphere looked inviting, hope to go back again and eat in.

Several options - Edit
Casual but full service restaurant with friendly staff. Several vegan options listed on menu. We tried just a few of the Small Plates options. Black bean fritters, green beans, and bok choy. Good flavors and we enjoyed the experience. The all-veg restaurants in Burlington are superior but this is one of the better omni places.

Vegan-friendly, great atmosphere - Edit
Staff was quite friendly. Restaurant was lively while still had seating without reservation.
Read moreAppreciated that they had many vegan items, and they were clearly marked on the menu. Got the grilled sausage sandwich with Beyond Meat bratwurst and greens. Enjoyed the fresh ingredients and flavors!

Decent options - Edit
Their menu is clearly marked with vegan and GF items and they definitely have a handful of delicious looking vegan choices. I got the large plate of cauliflower but it was a bit under cooked and still hard in the stem parts (which I get takes much longer than the florets). All and all the flavors were good and it was a fair amount of food. Staff was nice but only as much as they had to be. For the price it isn’t out of this world but I’d be willing to go back to try one of the other vegan options.

Delicious food & Drinks - Edit
I would gladly eat here again! So many labeled vegan options with lots of variety of dishes. I got a more expensive cauliflower steak and my husband opted for a casual sandwich and we could pick our own dinner vibe! The drinks were also fabulous. I wish I could give this place 5 stars! Oh and the vegan nachos were DELICIOUS!

Decent vegan options - Edit
We had the burger and nachos. The sauce on the burger was a bit odd, not our favorite. The nachos had a house made cashew cheese, I would have preferred a regular vegan melted cheese instead. Not terrible, but menu could use some work.

Lots of vegan options with unique choices - Edit
The Daily Planet is one of the few omnivore restaurants that really puts some thought and effort into their vegan options, as opposed to the “here’s your plain salad and veggie burger, now get out” approach that so many other restaurants opt for. Instead, you’ll be a bit more warmly greeted by a menu that’s around 30% vegan or so, with those options clearly marked. They’re good options, too: cashew-based alfredo with vegan parm, cashew cheese sauce nachos, buffalo seitan, a vegan muffuletta (!), and others.
Read moreI went for the cashew alfredo and was really happy with it (can’t say no to anything that includes Brussels sprouts), and had started off with the seared cauliflower with pickled beets and tomato pumpkin seed hummus was also a solid choice. The cauliflower could’ve used a bit more crisping, but the hummus was so good that I can forgive cauliflower that isn’t exactly my preference. My omni company got something non-vegan I don’t remember, but they raved about it, so it seems like a great option if you’ve got a mixed group.
As for atmosphere, it’s somewhere in the realm of hip eclectic casual — a good fit for Burlington — without venturing over into hipster pretentious territory. The wait staff were all super pleasant and the full bar features a large and well-selected draught beer selection, plus a menu of cocktails and mocktails. Between food and drink, you’ve got enough choices to please most people without being too much. Certainly worth checking out if you’re in town!
