Good vegan cake - Edit
I tried their lemon berry cake and it was delicious. It was moist and had a good texture. It’s hard finding good vegan cake. I also received a big portion.
Read moreAlthough I liked the cake, I felt the frosting was too sweet. Perhaps they can add less frosting on the cake or use less sugar? This particular cake also had berries baked into the cake that I felt should have been left out. It didn’t really add anything.
I also tried their cheesecake. The crust was out of this world. Instead of just using a graham cracker crust, they added walnut pieces which added a nice crunch to each bite.
Their red velvet cupcakes remind me so much of the non vegan version before I became vegan. They nailed the creamed cheese frosting taste. I wasn’t too crazy about their hazelnut flavor though. It was too bitter for my tastes.
Their goods were on the expensive side, but I felt it was worth every penny. I’d definitely buy from this bakery again.
Pros: Good cake
Cons: Frosting too sweet, Expensive

Burritos and bagels, yum! - Edit
I had the "Everything bagel w. dill cream cheese $4". Simple and sweet. My bf had the "Breakfast burrito" $11. He liked it but it was a lil' bit pricey.

Great communication, delicious cake - Edit
We looked for a place to bake a vegan bday cake for a 2yo who loves trucks - especially a backhoe. We contacted many bakeries in NYC and many of them didn't respond and if they did they didn't offer 3D backhoe fondant. Clementine bakery responded fast, I talked with Tiffany over the emails, she had some great ideas and in the end we decided for 6" chocolate raspberry cake with chocolate frosting and edible 3D fondant backhoe. We got cake delivered and it arrived in perfect shape. Last night was a success and baby boy was very happy. Cake was delicious, non vegan friends couldn't believe that it is actually vegan cake.

100% vegan bakery and cafe with AMAZING food. Had the Autumnal sandwich, which was so delicious. The bakery itself is beautifully decorated, has WiFi and a bathroom, and the staff are all super friendly and helpful.

Delicious food, unfriendly - Edit
We had a pretty unfriendly counter helper who let us know upon walking in at 625pm that the kitchen was apparently closing in 5 mins, that they wouldn’t make anything fried at this point in the day, and that the entire place was closing at 7. Not a friendly welcome to a place with delicious food, and the hours don’t match the HappyCow hours. Boo, Clementine Bakery.

Amazing vegan cafe in Brooklyn - Edit
New York City wasn't as vegan as I thought it would be but this lovely cafe was a delightful exception!! It was a miracle that I found this place few blocks away from my cousin's appartment and went there EVERY morning during my stay!! Everything I ate was soooo good I wish they'd have a branch in my city in Japan!! I'll definitely miss this cozy soooo New Yorkish atmosphere and amazing bagels and sandwiches with tofu cream cheese and fakin tempeh's!!!

quaint and delightful - Edit
Love the vibe. Awash in light, natural wood, and potted plants. Kind, helpful staff, and good music. Very relaxing on an early morning when I visited and it was rather empty. The drip coffee was a delight, from a small batch roaster. The cinnamon bun was exceptionally sticky and delectable, not heavy or greasy at all. There are also some food and craft beer options. Sit down, stay awhile, enjoy the wifi, and save on using some disposables, I'm sure you will enjoy it.

For your sweet tooth - Edit
I absolutely loved the vibe I encountered when I walked through the door. The music and ambience was just my speed and so was the vast selection of vegan sweets. I opted for the Lemon Lavender cupcake and a slice of Strawberry Vanilla cake. Both were sooooo good! It was just what I needed to end the night.

Best lunch ever! Evrythings vegan so I had a hard time choosing but the waitress was a total sweetheart and let me take all the time I needed. I got the Curry Bowl and the Brownie, for around 12$. Since the place was pretty busy, the same waitress gave me a free choc chip scone to make up for the wait!! Food was delicious, especially the brownie -glad I noticed the last one and asked them to set it aside for me ;)

Cute shop for vegan goodness - Edit
Clementine is a cute little shop in Bed-Stuy that sells all types of bake goods, sandwiches, ice cream, and I believe they are also expanding into larger size dishes. I've always encountered extremely friendly service and pretty delicious food. I even ordered a cake here once for my husband's birthday and they did an excellent job, not only taste wise, but also decorating it with a cute cat face (he really likes cats). Great place to stop by for a snack or meal. Many of their bake goods are sold throughout Brooklyn at non-vegan cafes as well.

Was I There on an Off Day?... - Edit
I expected to be in cake/cupcake/brownie heaven, except when I arrived, there was no cake, a couple of yesterday's cupcakes, and no brownies. I settled on a blondie (very oily and bland and not worth the calories), a banh mi sandwich (not bad, but not terrific either and way too spicy to actually enjoy), and "biscuits" and gravy except they only give you ONE biscuit with gravy. Yes, one, and it was around $6 for that one biscuit and gravy. It was really, really good though. I'd drink that gravy from a canteen if I could afford to buy it every day. And I asked how many biscuits you get and they confirmed that it was only one, so this was not an anomaly or a mistake. So, it would have been nice to get that biscuit pluralized, especially since they put an "s" at the end of the word on their menu.
Read moreThis was a Thursday at 11 a.m. Not sure if that's a bad time to come, but I at least expected to see a lot more baked goods. I mean, it's a bakery, so...yeah.
Service was okay but a little on the somber and curt side. I don't think I'd return here or recommend this place but maybe I need to try it on another day and time. If so, I'll amend my review and see if it gets any better than what I came up with the first time.
Pros: Gravy is bomb
Cons: Expensive , Limited selection, Small but expensive portions

This place taste like heaven - Edit
I've discovered this place thanks to happycow and I went there at least 4 times during my new york stay. I've tried a lot ! And the only think I can say is everything tasted like heaven. The dessert of course (I've tried 3 differents cup cakes and my favorite was the tiramisu one) but also the salad, the daily specials and the bowl. The portions are not super generous though.
Read moreThe place is also very nice and quiet and one of the girl working there is super welcoming.

There are only few things holding me back from rating this place higher. The music is turned up way too loud, the bake case could use some organizing and labeling and the staff could be a little more informed. If those things are improved, it would be 5 stars!

Tasty Desserts! Not a 100% Vegan Bakery Though. - Edit
I was very pleasantly surprised by the large selection of items at Clementines as well as the great prices! They offer a variety of goodies from cupcakes and cakes by the slice to sweet and savory scones and sandwiches. I indulged in a mocha cupcake and chai tea with almond milk while I was there. I also purchased my friends drink and slice of cake for her. In total everything came out to less than $14, the prices are extremely fair compared to almost any other place around and the flavors are on point. I plan on coming back to enjoy the outdoor seating on a nice day and try out their breakfast offerings. I definitely feel like Clementines is a bit under the radar consider how great everything they carry is. Definitely a must try if you are in the area!
Read moreThe big downside to Clementine is that they are not a 100% Vegan bakery as I had previously thought. They do offer whole milk in their cafe for the drinks they make. This sort of made me question the vegan-ness of their items considering nothing in the bakery is actually marked "vegan" and none of the sandwiches state vegan cheese they just say "cheese". I plan to inquire further when I stop back in and would recommend others do as well. Better safe than sorry!
Pros: variety, price, taste
Cons: Offers Dairy Milk, Not 100% Vegan
