Lively

Located in the trendy "SoFo" district its hard to spot amongst all the other cafes. Quite busy on a saturday. No English menu but the serving staff described everything for us. You collect your food and pay at the main counter unless you order a sandwich (ciabatta) which they bring to your table. There is a complimentary drinks and salad bar by the entrance.

Great Meals

Went to Chutney while visiting Stockholm two weeks ago and ended up eating there twice. The first time I went the food was amazing I got some vegetable bombay dish that was awesome. Second time I went I had the vegetable curry dish which was good but nowhere close to as good as my previous meal. Both meals were vegan but make sure you read whats in each dish. One was marked vegan but still had honey in it. I believe its honung since the whole menu was in Swedish. Also, a lot of their meals are gluten free and their entrees (the 150 krona dish) looked amazing. Wish I got to try it. As other people have stated you can go back and get more and bread, green tea and coffee are all free.

Pros: Good Price, Good Options

Cons: honey is some vegan meals

Worth checking out if you're around the area

I agree with the other reviews, do go for the daily menu, it's a really good deal. I had the curry, which was one of the two vegan options of the day. It tasted a bit "weird", not bad, just different from what I've had before. I loved the rice that came with it though, indian-spiced rice, yummmm! Also the free bread was good, so was the salad. Portions were big, but in case you feel like more you can ask for refill. Give it a try if you're around the area, personally I wouldn't go out of my way to come here.

Pros: cheap, big portions

Cons: location

Cozy little place

I went to Chutney on a Sunday afternoon (lunchtime) and was impressed firstly with how few people there were in the restaurant as opposed to the overcrowded foodcourts and restaurants in the centre of town. The place has a cozy feel about it, the food was pretty good (and organic!). The lunch menu had 4 choices to choose from, including vegan options. (Today's menu included 2 types of vegetable stew with rice, one Indian and one Lebanese, bean burgers with what looked like shallow fried potatoes and a baked pasta dish). Bread, shredded carrots with optional dressing, chutney, chilli paste, water and coffee were free. I loved the fact that I could go back for seconds (which I did, as the Lebanese stew I had was delicious), although portions are not ungenerous in size as it is. I also had a vegan coconut ball and a slice of apple pie, both of which tasted great (not very easy on the sugar though).Staff spoke English, which helped, especially when you want to know which dishes are strictly vegan. The main meal was a set price of 85 SEK, which I thought was very reasonable, especially since junkfood at shopping malls costs nearly the same. All in all, I was quite happy with the experience.

Pros: Good portions, Vegan options, Reasonably priced

Cons: Lack of healthy desert options

Great choice

Go for the daily menu, it's cheaper and it tastes really great. Has about 4 daily changing menu's to choose from, internationnaly inspired, eg japenese, thai, indian, moroccon... and you can actually ask for seconds! My favourite in Stockholm.

Pros: great food, cheap, can ask refill

Cons: none

not too impressed

yes, you got a lot of food and it wasn't too expensive, but aside from that fact it wasn't all too impressive. presentation was non-existent and good was pretty bland. go somewhere else!

Pros: large portions, not entirely vegan

Cons: food had no taste

Lovely!!

Really lovely little cafe. Served hot, healthy meals with generous portions- great value for money. Staff were very welcoming and spoke perfect english, explained all the dishes and ensured our meal was totally vegan. For roughly £8 you get a huge plate of food (which can be refilled!) bread, salad, dressings, coffee, tea and water. They also had two lovely desserts, both vegan. I would thoroughly recommend this place! Its also off a great road full of cute young designers and shops.

Pros: Great value., Hot, filling, healthy food., Almost 100% vegan.
