Great value for money, delicious vegan food

Quite cheap for what you get. Large portions, delicious food, not serving alcohol. located in hip Friedrichshain - Nice area where you will find plenty of cafes, restaurants, clubs and bars.

Pros: Cheap, Delicious

Great Vietnamese dishes

Both my (non-vegan) boyfriend and (fully vegan) myself were blown away. We had a tofu-rice dish to go, which was great! Prices were reasonable, service was quick.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Reasonable prices, Quick service

very tasty Vietnamese made vegan

We arrived rather hungry and wanted something flavorful and it didn’t disappoint. Unusual red curry Vietnamese style was very tasty but the seitan #33 killed. Starters were the weakest point of this menu. The fried banana with ice cream was insane. The problem with this place is that’s it doesn’t except cards so you need to pay cash and the closest ATM is in the galaxy far far away.... 5 min walk ...

Pros: very tasty , good portions , good prices

Cons: cash only, small place

tasty and cheap

I would rate it 3 and a half if I could. Food was good and cheap but service was not good even for German standards.
General atmosphere could be better too.

Pros: lots of options, cheap, fast

Cons: atmosphere, service

very nice food and cheap

Food was tasty and a good price. The waiter was very polite. Maybe the portions weren't big, but very nice altogether

Authentic Vietnamese Food

We visited here one lunch time just as it had opened and the owner was very friendly making us feel at ease straight away. We ordered the steamed buns, tofu curry, veg noodles and what looked like fried wontons for about €20 including drinks. All of the dishes were superb and packed full of flavour. The curry and steamed buns were particularly a highlight and I would definitely recommend a visit to Chay Village.

Pros: Tasty vegan food, Cheap, Friendly staff

Cons: Must state vegan

delicious

My friend and I ordered the curry and a dish with noodles, tofu and veggies. The curry was the best! We both loved it. The noodles were also very good but had a strong flavor that we didn't like that much (I think it was coriander or cumin? couldn't really tell).
As a dessert we shared the baked banana with coconut milk and it was soooo good! I don't even like bananas and coconut that much but this was just perfect. The meals were also cheap so I would recommend this place!

Pros: delicious food, cheap

Busy and reliable Vietnamese restaurant

Great food. Reasonably priced. Always busy but you can usually get a table at lunchtime. Evenings are more difficult (and impossible at the Eisenacher Strasse branch on a warm Tuesday evening!) and I'd recommend booking a table.

Pros: Good choice of food, Reliable, Reasonably priced

Cons: Probably need to book for evenings

delicious

This place was very reasonably priced with delicious food and nice staff. I had the coconut soup and then the tofu noodle salad. Both were incredibly tasty - will definitely go back.

I don't understand why this place is listed as expensive - it was very cheap (huge soup for starter €3 and main course €6)...

Pros: cheap, good food, nice staff

Cons: all dessert options involved banana

Paradise!!

Sitting here at Chay village and having Tofu with mushrooms while I write the review and I have to force my fingers to write instead of eating.
Delicious food, extremely nice staff and a superb choice of vegetarian (almost all of the dishes can made vegan!!) dishes.
Not just the "common Asian restaurant" but a level further.
Not the last time here, for sure.

Pros: Food, Staff, Variety

ahh-may-zing

I have a lot of favourite places in Berlin but this one is definitely right at the top. Incredibly friendly staff and the food is perfectly seasoned, fresh and well.. overall delicious. I'll come back for certain! Mains are all somewhere around 5-7€
(I don't eat non-fermented soy anymore but I just had to try the tofu in my no.22 and it was the best I've ever had!!!)

Pros: friendly staff , surprisingly cheap, frech and delicious

Authentic tasting Viet local dishes even when meatless.

One of my fav vege places to go in Berlin. Great authentic taste not compromised even meatless.

Must try: lemon grass soy fillet rice noodles. Super yummy with taste of roasted sesame "meat" and of course theirnphò.

Love it!

I absolutely love this place! The food is so different from what I had before, the spices.. God it's so original, tasty, well prepared (careful, not everything is vegan please ask and INSIST)
The bimbap is crazy and so good, I always have this soy Meat in a spicy mix and it's so damn good! They don't have so much desserts but the portions are really nice so you don't really need one :) They also have nice drinks. I will come every time I can!

Pros: amazingly cooked food, very original, nice loc

Cons: careful with the eggs in some dishes

Biggest variety of vegearian/vegan vietnamese food

You don't have to ask that they replace chicken for tofu. They offer a great variety of dishes with different styles of tofu and seitan. Everything was fresh and delicious!

Pros: vegetarian only, fresh food, good value

Fresh, Healthy and Veg*n

I was sure what to expect from this place as there weren't many reviews. Despite this we decided to go as we wanted something fresh and healthy - so thought Vietnamese food would be ideal. The menu is about 90% vegan, the rest vegetarian.

Berlin is a very cool city; however, the service is restaurants is woeful. Surprisingly our waitress was incredible. I guess speaking Vietnamese, German & English helps. Beyond this she was attentive but not over bearing.

The food was fresh and some of the best Vietnamese food I have had. The best part was the price and portions. We had a lot of food for very little. If you're on a budget this is well worth a visit. German food lacks spice which was why this place was especially appreciated. As such I had to effectively plead for my dishes to be spicy as opposed to 'German spicy'. Incredible restaurant.

Pros: tasty authentic food, cheap, great staff

Cons: it is not fully vegan

Delicious Vietnamese veggie food 2.0

I'm a fan of the food they do at their restaurant in Schöneberg in the west of the city (http://www.happycow.net/reviews/chay-village-berlin-32227) and I was glad to find out that they opened another restaurant further east, closer to where I live.

All the food is freshly prepared and there are some really interesting traditional Vietnamese dishes (which, according to my Vietnamese friends, was really authentic) as well as more Thai inspired dishes. Most of the menu is vegan and it seems that the only non-vegan items can be made vegan by removing the egg or honey. I'd definitely recommend it.

Pros: Delicious, Fresh, Authentic Vietnamese food
