What a champ!

The small location was pretty busy, but we were lucky to get a table outside after waiting a few minutes; I suggest making a reservation if you want to eat inside. It's easy to order online, but I was disappointed to receive plastic utensils even though I didn't request them. I ordered the "Breakfast Slam"--"tofu scramble, sausage, hashbrowns, and seitan bacon with a choice of french toast or pancakes." It took quite a while for our food to arrive, but I think the restaurant may be understaffed. The server was helpful, and the food was tasty.

Pros: all vegan, tasty

Cons: busy

Lives up to the hype

Great food. Very expensive, so not an every day kind of spot.

My First and Favorite!

Champs was my first vegan restaurant. I started by eating the cauliflower Buffalo wings and I was hooked. Since then I have had the hamburger, different varieties of their pancakes, sandwiches, macaroni and cheese, French fries, milkshakes, and many other items. Everything that I have had at this restaurant has been delicious. Since I am new to the vegan lifestyle, I have judged many restaurants based on my experience at champs. Aside from having fantastic food, the staff is also amazing. They are super friendly and always happy to help walk you through their menu. I stop by Champs at least 2 or 3 times a week. They have lots of options, and the food is always satisfying. I will continue to eat here and try some of their other options. Definitely gets an A plus from me.

Pros: Lots of food options., Friendly staff. , Reasonable prices.

Place I dream of twice a week

This is one of the reasons I can’t wait for the COVID travel restrictions to be gone. Whenever I went there I could not order everything I’d like to try because the menu is just amazing.

Excellent

I’ve yet to have a bad thing at Champ’s. I moss being able to eat inside, but their outdoor area is nice and sunny. Super tasty shakes and great breakfast-for-dinner options.

Awesome Concept. Relaxed, Funky-Cool Vibes.

To me, a classic American diner is one of the places that is definitely not vegan friendly-- until you go to Champs Diner. The idea of a vegan-style diner intrigued me so much that I dined indoors at Champs, pre-pandemic. I loved my experience there.

My partner and I ordered the Belgian Waffle (with fruit and whipped cream), the Chik'n and Waffles (with breaded chik'n steak and maple butter), the Breakfast Slam (tofu scramble with hashbrowns, etc.) and the Girl Scout shake (mint flavored with vanilla ice cream). I loved each dish!

If you want to try many dishes at Champs, I recommend ordering food from here with a group of your friends, ordering many dishes, and then trying a little bit of everything together-- that way, you'll have room in your stomach for all the amazing food flavors.

Amazing

The second time I dined in the restaurant complete strangers at the next table were offering us a taste of their meals. That’s a sign of a place with good vibes.

Pros: Popular, Large portions, Delicious

Cons: Heavy on the oil

Yummy!

Had the breakfast slam (?) and it was really good! A bit expensive for the amount of food, but I guess that's NY for you.

Good but less then expected.

The chocolate pancakes were TO DIE FOR—tastes like a literal chocolate chip cookie! But Their Instagram looks so amazing..I might have expected more. Their overall flavors for everything was good. I felt the “chikn” was too bulky and could have held more flavor is it was a little thinner or maybe made out of something else. But overall a good meal 🙃

Pros: Amazing pancakes!

Cons: Not the best chkn at least for chkn and waffles

Incredible

Incredible buttermilk-like pancakes! I flew into NYC and right off the plane went to Brooklyn to have Champs! I had the sampler with Vegan sausage, Vegan bacon, hash browns, tofu egg scramble and these 2 delicious blueberry pancakes! Wow! I saved the pancakes for last. Probably the best fluffy pancakes I’ve ever tasted like IHOP. I couldn’t believe it was vegan. Their made to perfection! I never have had vegan mozzarella sticks so I ordered and they were super crunchy on the outside! I believe 5-6 came in the order. I also tasted
Their philly cheese and even that was incredible flavor! To drink I had their lemonade very refreshing and sweet.

Pros: Order on app & they let you know when ready, Everything was fresh and hot , Food is so good I’m coming back tomorrow

Cons: The mozzarella sticks comes with one side sauce , They didn’t have chairs set up outside (covid)

You cannot skip this place!

My number one place for weekend eating, whether it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner. If I had lived closer to the diner, I would probably have been there during the weeknights, too. I recently moved away from NYC, and I miss this place dearly. I never had a bad meal there, no matter what I ordered. If you want to go for brunch on the weekends, be prepared for a long wait! I used to put my name on the list and then walk one block down to Dunwell Doughnuts to snack while waiting for my table.

Pros: Food, Portions

The food is so damn good, the location is small and the prices aren't great but could be worse.

Favorite vegan place ever !

There’s just something about this place that makes it so special to me. From the black and white floor, to the shockingly beautiful wait staff. The decor is funny, and there’s finally a place where you feel like it’s okay to be yourself.

The food is diner food, indulging , drip sauce all over my clothes wholesome.

I miss this place as I live in MD. But I would eat here everyday if I could. My favorite things are the Cuban sandwich and the buffalo sandwich . The eggs Benedict and breakfast sandwich are hands down the best juiciest version of “eggs”. All the drinks you could imagine , all the nut milk options my little heart can handle . Soy too. If you’re vegan in NY, this should be first on your list .

Pros: Vegan favorites , Indulging - creamy , mouth watering food, Huge portions

Cons: Absolutely none -

The food was ok

I had the vegan mozzarella sticks which were really good but the Philly cheesesteak was so messy and the bun was soggy. I only could eat half. Probably wouldn’t return other than to maybe try a milk shake. Maybe it’s because I came during the pandemic but I think it’s overrated

Paradise

Been here a few times, and always the food is delicious. Im from jersey so its a bit of a travel to get here.. but it definitely is a must try. Place is so popular, but a bit small so there is usually a wait, so plan ahead if you are going to try this place!

Pros: So many delicious menu items, Retro look inside, very cool, Staff is very friendly

Cons: A bit pricey but so worth the experience , A bit small so it fills up fast

I LOVE CHAMPS!

I wish I had a Champs close to me and not across the world. Whenever I'm hungover I always crave one of their salads and whenever I'm not, I crave some of their other stuff. Haha.

I wish I could work there and try all their foods and eat nothing else.

Cool place!

I'm not a big fan of the food though. I mean it was good, but i wouldn't come back for it - for me it's too heavy, too greasy, junk food imo. Staff was super friendly!

All vegan diner, offering traditional diner foods but made vegan. A little expensive but worth it. Highly recommend the pasta Alfredo. Gender neutral toilets too.

Can’t miss

Champs Diner is a gem! I’ve been here numerous times, tried a different dish every time, and haven’t had a bad meal yet. looks like they’ve added a few new items in between. From the food to the atmosphere, nothing feels fancy, which is possibly what I like the most. The only thing I’ve found to complain about is the small size of the fried chicken in the chik’n and waffle plate. I wished it was the same size as the patty used in their sandwiches, but it was delicious nonetheless

Pros: 100% vegan diner, Comfort food

Cons: Occasional long wait

True Champs

The food here is excellent. I was introduced to this restaurant over a year ago and I always come back at least once a month. The staff is great and the food is surprisingly great. I swear the first time I came here I thought it wasn't vegan food, that's how delicious the food is at Champs Diner.

Pros: Friendly staff, Great Music , Excellent food options

Cons: Long waiting periods on weekends , Small tables

Satisfied my cravings

I had the breakfast slam(?) - pancakes, tofu eggs, hash browns, sausage, and bacon. This was my usual order when I ate meat and it did not disappoint as a vegan. SO good.

Order the mozzarella sticks... crunchy exterior and melty gooey interior = perfection

The cannoli was also great but I ate it before I took a pic.

Pros: All vegan options, Kind waiters
