Vegan francesinha is worth a try

Not as soggy as I thought it would be. Vegan meats were very good! The fries dipped in the accompanying sauce was incredible! Would come back just for the fries!

vegan francesinha

I went there exclusively because of their francesinha. Not my favourite. If you like mock meat that is really similar to the real stuff, then you'll probably like it. To me it was just too similar, and I'm not a big fan of the sauce. Staff was friendly and I believe their other vegan options will please me better!

Pros: a variety of vegan options, friendly staff, the best priced vegan francesinha I know

Cons: unfortunately, the francesinha was not to my taste

Wonderful evening

I found them on happy cow and contacted them on Facebook. They answered on the same day and were very kind. We made a reservation by arrival two days later they remembered we are vegan. The french fries were homemade and the francesinhas were absolutely delicious. Afterwards the waiter offered vegan dessert (crêpes or ice cream) and the crêpes was also great. Unfortunately I can't rate with 5 stars as these are reserved for completely vegetarian/vegan restaurants because casanova would deserve it!

Pros: Very kind, Great vegan portuguese food

Best Vegan Francesinha

Casanova has got the best vegan Francesinha in Porto! If you want to try this traditional dish in its cruelty free option, this is the place to go! By far the best choice you can make.
It is located near Marquês underground station. You can also walk to the city center after a great meal :)

Pros: Tasty food, Good value, Friendly staff

To eat and... to repeat...

Casanova is a very cozy space, the people who work there are very friendly and the food... that is even better. I'm a fan of their vegetarian francesinha and I'll come back almost every week.

Pros: Vegan Francesinha, Home made fries, Vegan Hamburger

Best vegan Francesinha in Porto

This is a family restaurant where everyone is extremely nice and caring. The vegan Francesinha is amazing, they use violife cheese and the sauce is very similar to the traditional one. You can also try other vegan dishes, such as the Portuguese alheira (but vegan :)). Also, fresh vegetable soup every day. The prices are also very reasonable. The Francesinha with the fries and a beer will be around 9 euros.

Pros: At least 2 or 3 vegan options

Excellent Francesinha

This is a cozy place with a nice outdoor seating / garden.
It's a snack-bat specialized in porto's top dish Francesinha and recently implemented a vegan version with everything safe (from the sauce, bread, sausage + chouriço + seitan + violife cheese).
It's the best francesinha I've eaten in a restaurant so far because the sauce is one of the best I've tried, the ingredients are really good, the seitan has an incredible texture, and the potatoes are home-made and fried.
The price is really good for this kind of dish in a vegan version, usually places ask you for more.

Defenitly a must go place for a francesinha.
It's a shame they are not a vegan restaurant, but they might had more vegan options in the future.

Pros: Sauce , Potatoes, Ingredients

Cons: Not a vegan restaurant
