Creative vegan cuisine, warm service - Edit
Vegan Inc serves creative food made with fresh ingredients, ranging from light dishes to hearty and satisfying meals…. And probably the biggest slice of cake we’ve ever seen.
Read moreThe meal starts with a small chips-and-dip appetizer - not a spicy salsa here, but more of a hummus-type creation made with pumpkin seeds and tomato.
The “ceviche” appetizer (made with chickpeas and mushrooms) would make a good meal in itself: simple, wholesome, and fresh.
We tried two of the Mexican dishes that were mentioned as faves: the portobello chicharrón and the battered tofu tacos. Both were tasty in a simple and understated way — that is, until we added the potent salsa that was served with them, which contributed some flavor and kick.
We also tried two of their pizzas by ordering a pizza with half mushroom and half “three cheese.” You might like the pizza if you prefer a very thick and bready crust, but for us it was too bready and dry for our taste (we prefer thin and crispy crusts and more sauce or something to counter the dryness).
The hibiscus lemonade was delicious and refreshing (and gone too soon on a hot day).
Having worked up an appetite wandering around Chichén Itzá for five hours, we thought we’d give the chocolate cake a try. It was the best cake we’ve had anywhere in Mexico, but so huge that even two hungry people could barely finish half of it. If you order the cake with fewer than four people we’d advise bringing a reusable takeout container!
Service is warm and helpful. The location has some charm, too, on the corner looking across at the square. The place is gently air-conditioned. Both English and Spanish are spoken well, and there are menus in both languages.

My fav spot in Mérida - Edit
This is fav all vegan spot in Mérida for vegan breakfast. The Chilaquiles are phenomenal. My non-vegan friends said they were the best so far! The smoothies are also delicious! The service and atmosphere are top notch and they open at 8am. I can’t wait to come back for dinner!

Vinyl records, large mural on the wall, good community atmosphere great vibes in this restaurant. I loved how they make eating here a bit more of an experience, you don’t often get vegan food served on a sizzling plate, but you can here with there cheesy potatoes dish. We went there with a party of four and ordered various things. The best was the gluten-free pizza with mushrooms - and the rest was missing anything particular. Lowlight: the vegan tacos were with a block of white fried tofu… how to roll the taco? The vegan Ceviche was just a salad and the mushrooms were forgotten…

De reviews die ik had gelezen over deze plek waren erg gemengd, dus ik wist niet goed wat ik kon verwachten, maar het is me heel erg meegevallen! Het was wel wat duur, maar ook echt goed eten en mooi gepresenteerd. Onze ober was erg vriendelijk. De ginger lemonade was ook super lekker! Onze ervaring was erg goed hier!

Was mir zusätzlich aufgefallen war, ist der Service der Kellner. Sie sind äusserst hoflich und aufmerksam. Das gibt dem Restaurant fast einen gehobenen Touch.
Unbedingt probieren. Meiner Meinung nach, das beste vegane Restaurant in Merida.

Not the best, not the worst... - Edit
I found the service to be the best part of this cafe. Servers we're quick and well trained. The location is perfect located at the mid point between Pasao and Centro. The cafe has AC which is the only vegan cafe in Merida to have this luxury. The food quality is good which is what I would expect for the prices as they are one of the highest priced vegan cafes in the city so you pay for the location. The first time I visited the food was tasty. When I came back a week later I was shocked at how fast the food seemed to change. The cafe is still new and trying to figure its techniques but I think they microwaved the rosted cauliflower on all our dishes as it tasted mushy and tasteless and my salad was so dry with hardly any dressing. I look forward to revisiting after some time to see if the food improved and I hope to change my star rating to 4 as I found the owners and staff to be so lovely.

Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about the food.
We started with a plate of wedges which were air fried and served with 3 different sauces, all of which were very nice.
We shared 3 mains among 3 and all were incredibly fresh and tasty.
Forgot to take a picture of the cauliflower tacos which were superb!
We then had a mushroom pasta and a pizza pastor.
I also suggest trying the ginger mineral water 👌
Both dishes were super tasty.
It’s a little more expensive than most places, but certainly worth it.
Definitely worth the 5 star ratting ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We’ve been to Vegan Inc in Puebla and Tulum before and like this one in Merida a lot more. The food is the same but the location is great and they also did a good job on the interior.
