Sweet & savory

I tried a couple menu items, some savory and some sweet. The sweets we got tasted better than what we got from their savory menu, the brownies in particular.

Pros: A lot of options, Great brownies

Cons: Some items are pretty pricey for their size

Fantastic Flavors!

We were in the area and wanted lunch. Turns out they have amazing soups and pot pies. The dishes were so delicious! Would definitely come again. We got a couple breads to go and finished up our meal with a scoop of mint and Daim delicious ice creams. Both wonderful.

Pros: Nice atmosphere , Extensive list of bakery items, Friendly staff

Terrible customer service and honestly terrible cake!

I ordered a cake approximately 2 weeks prior to Mother's Day as a surprise for my wife who is allergic to dairy and therefore would think a vegan cake would be perfect. I placed an order for a red velvet cake with raspberry jam filling and what I received was not anywhere close to red velvet. I am not entirely sure what flavor the cake was, but most likely it was their Swedish spice cake.

I contacted the bakery through email several times notifying them of the situation. Because it was not the cake that I had ordered, I requested to receive a refund. After 72 hours, I have not heard anything back from the bakery. Not even a simple apology for the mix-up. At this time, I am out $55 for a cake that I did not order nor did we enjoy.

In regards to the cake itself, we were only able to get through one slice. The frosting honestly was not too bad, but the cake itself was actually quite disgusting. It was dense as a brick and lacking in any particular flavor, which was why it was hard for my wife and I to identify whether this was an off-colored red velvet or the Swedish spice cake.

I am disappointed as this was one of the only bakeries that had a wider than normal selection of vegan or dairy-free cakes around town. Will stick with more reputable bakeries.

Cons: They made me the wrong cake and refused a refund!, The cake just honestly was not very good, Can't give this place 1 star due to site rules

Super cute, really good

The almond cake was so good! And so were the biscuit and meat pie. The samoa was disappointing but it was exciting to go to a swedish restaurant that doesn't smell like fish haha. Excited to go back and try their sandwiches.

Get the almond cake!

There really are no words to describe how incredibly delicious the almond cake is. It doesn’t look like much, but it is perfect. Moist, not too sweet, with a crunchy-chewy exterior and a soft, fluffy interior. I couldn’t believe it was gluten free. We lucked out and got some that were still warm out of the oven. There is a huge variety of other vegan (deceptively) gluten free goodies as well.

A veritable cornucopia of vegans treats

So many choices of fantastic sweet and savory vegan offerings. Very rich and filling, I like the chocolate hazelnut cake and the carrot “lox”. Caring service with a wonderful story behind the business. Feels good to support these folks.

Pros: Plentiful options, Ethical company

Charming bakery! Pastry case loaded with delicious looking options

Huge variety of pastries and beverages. I had a delicious Matcha latte made with oat milk and a breakfast sandwich. The best part of the sandwich was the homemade biscuit it was on.

So good!

Since I don’t live on this side of town I wont be able to go in frequently. All I could say is that mushroom shmeet pie and cardamom roll was amazingly good. With so many different options I wanted to take one of each but got what I could at the moment. I will be back to try everything on the menu.

Pros: Lots of options , Real good , You wont regret it

Cons: Its too far away from me

My Fave

I absolutely love Carina's. I always go for one or two pastries and end up with a box of them. There are always dozens of things I want to try and it is nearly impossible to make a decision. I apologize for holding up the line.
My sweet favorites are the Scandinavian almond cake, Swedish cake balls, and the seasonal fruit danishes. They occasionally have some marzipan/Swedish princess cake-type thing which is my extra extra favorite! On the savory side, I love the biscuits and biscuit sandwich.

Pros: Great sweet and savory treats, Supports people with disabilities

Carina Cares

There were so many choices, but I picked a Scandinavian almond cake. It had a lot of flavor packed into that little loaf. I appreciate they offer food most other bakeries and cafes do not. Also, they employ people with disabilities.

Pros: all vegan, employs people with disabilities, uncommon offerings

Yummy all-vegan bakery and Cafe

Thoroughly enjoying our sweet potato salad and open faced sandwich. There's nothing healthy here that appeals to our 3 year old, but she'll be overjoyed with the pink cupcake.

Pros: Plenty of vegan dessert and quick meal options, Can grab and go many items, Healthy food options along with the desserts

Try and find what works

Stopped in and tried a cheese/scallion biscuit, a bean sausage wrap and a chocolate almond bon bon. I really liked the biscuit and spouse liked it more that the biscuits from off the griddle. The bean sausage was interesting because it had a sausage-esk feel, but ultimately tasted more like beans and felt on the dry side. For me the best was the little chocolate bite, perfect moisture and sweetness. I think there is enough to try to find what you like, just may not love everything.

Pros: Great story, staff and doggie

Delicious Options

The store is adorable and has a very heartwarming story behind it. I’ve gone her for coffee and a few treats which have been pretty delicious. Even ordered cupcakes for my birthday. I had a wide variety of allergies to avoid and they were very adaptable to my needs which I greatly appreciate. The combination of chocolate cupcake with berry frosting wasn’t my favorite. The frosting was extremely sweet and the batter was almost like a brownie (not a bad thing to me). This all could have been due to the allergy restrictions. Wonderful staff as well!

Pros: Amazing staff, All vegan, gluten free available, Wide variety
