We walked 40 min to get there and found out they were closed even though everything says they are open. Apparently they are open for appointments only.

I really liked the sausage, cheese and jalapeños kolache I ordered with a side of hot sauce. The bread was a nice consistency and the fillings were tasty and ample. Their cupcakes look great! You can't go inside at the moment, but once you order, you can sit outdoors in the front yard and enjoy your treats.

Great Cupcakes and Kolaches - Edit
These are some of the best vegan cupcakes I’ve ever had, you can’t go wrong with any flavor. Both their sweet and savory kolaches are delicious too, especially the Buffalo chikn. The confetti cookie sandwich is also amazing as are their mini pies. One time they had an incredible strawberry shortcake special!! Unfortunately the icing can get kind of hard on their layer cakes compared to the cupcakes, but celebrating with cupcakes is just as good. I wish they’d bring back their banana cake flavor!

As of mid-February, they were only doing take-away via online ordering. That info was not clear to me until we arrived (oops, my bad), so we sat in the car and placed our order. Even though we arrived just after opening time, the website said the fruit kolaches were "sold out" but the sausage kolaches were available. I haven't had a kolache since going vegan 6 years ago, so I reeeeally wanted a kolache lol! We ordered a couple of sausage jalapeño kolaches (even though neither of us like jalapeños). We also ordered two lattes and two cupcakes. The website said the order would take 10 minutes, so after 10 minutes I called to let them know I "had arrived." She said she needed a few more minutes to make our lattes, so after a few more minutes I went up to the window (being careful to step over the missing board on the ramp 🤦). I waited at the window for another couple minutes (in the freezing cold) while they finished throwing my order together. 🤷♀️ Sooooo... the lattes were lukewarm 😒 and the kolaches were good, but THE CUPCAKES WERE PHENOMENAL! Oh my gosh!! The cupcakes earned them an extra star. I bet their cakes are phenomenal too. I would not hesitate to recommend their cakes and cupcakes.

Best and most decadent cake - Edit
We got the cookie dough cake and it was incredibly tasty - possibly the best cake I’ve ever had. To start it was absolutely beautiful in appearance and came out perfectly. The chocolate cake itself was very flavorful, moist, and delicious. The icing was not too sweet, but was no doubt a jolt of sugar. The cookie dough was also spot on and the fact that there was cookie dough on both the top of the cake as well as inside it sealed the deal.

The workers were very friendly and helpful. There were so many cool dessert options: cupcakes, kolaches, cookies dough, etc. The cupcakes were delicious we went back for seconds. The sugar cookies had a good flavor and were really soft; I am used to crisper sugar cookies but I enjoyed them! If ever in Austin again I will definitely come back💗

I visit Capitol City Bakery every time I visit Austin, and it has not ever disappointed me. Their baked goods are so delicious that TSA tried to confiscate them from me when I flew out of AUS the last time I was here, haha!! The cookie sandwiches are ON-POINT and the cupcakes are DELICIOUS. I love the creativity in their flavors. The staff is always super-friendly, solidifying this place as one of my Austin favorites!! :)

Too many good things to say about capcity! They made my wedding cake and did not disappoint. None of our omnivore guests wanted to believe it. Their flavors rotate often but they do have some permanent stars like the strawberry cupcakes. They can make any cupcake flavor a cake, from my understanding. I also live their cinnamon rolls. The frosting comes on the side which is an excellent idea.

Finding an all vegan bakery is always like finding gold to me and this is absolutely one of my favourites I’ve ever been too! Such cute decor and seating area, super fun and homely! The food is insane! I had some cupcakes (the key lime was insane) the sugar cookies, the smore brownie and the confetti cookie sandwich and loved every single thing!!! Wish I lived here so I could go all the time and really well priced!!
