Good food but very expensive - Edit
Everything i found on the menu was vegan, everything was house made, and the staff was extremely friendly. The only bad thing is it was very expensive, it cost at least $10 for every meal and $2 for any extra sauce.

Wow! - Edit
This was so good!! Everything was so uniquely made with how they make their vegan cheeses and I’m so here for it! We ordered the vegan cheeseburger, the Mac n cheese with coconut bacon, and the roasted potatoes with nacho cheese sauce. We also finished it off with chocolate milkshakes. It was all amazing!!!

Great Atmosphere - Edit
I took several of my non-vegan friends here, and they all loved it. I’ve been several times, and I always enjoy what I have. The only item on the menu that I did not enjoy is the spring rolls. The dish isn’t what it seems in the description. I’d call it a wrap instead of a spring roll.

Protein free, expensive - Edit
There is no tofu, seitan, tempeh, or other common vegan proteins at this restaurant. There are a few dishes with some beans. Asked the server why there was no tofu, etc. Told that they are a plant based restaurant that doesn’t do fake meats?? Food was bland. Tried the Mac and cheese, ordered the buffalo cauliflower as an add on for $3. The dish came with 3 tiny cauliflower florets. Pretty much every dish that we ordered required doctoring as it was bland. Only high point was the “nachos” which don’t particularly resemble nachos but were at least tasty. To top it off, the bill was expensive and not commiserate with the quality of the food served. Would not eat here if it was the only vegan option in town.

Best vegan food in KC! - Edit
My wife and I have loved this location for years. During some health issues my wife had, this was nearly the ONLY restaurant in the city that always worked to accommodate her restricted diet and allergies. Many thanks Cafe Gratitude!

Delicious creative food. - Edit
This is actually an all vegan restaurant and not vegetarian. This is one of my favorite places to eat. The food is very creative and delicious. Their vision is to use locally sourced ingredients and everything is organic. It has many options as well. The cool thing about this place is that every item on the menu is pretty healthy and they make it taste amazing. Also, try the mint chocolate shake, it is the best I ever had.

Amazing fresh food and friendly service - Edit
I had a terrible cold and was fed up of eating sugary/overdressed food whilst travelling, so this place was heaven! Had a delicious fresh bowl of grains and salads, and a hot lemon and ginger drink that actually tasted like the ingredients that had gone into it. Friendly service was the icing on the cake.

Delicious food and great service! - Edit
There are many options to choose from at this entirely vegan restaurant (besides honey in a few dishes maybe?). Foods are labeled as gluten free, spicy or raw. We sat at the bar as that was all that was available but were pleasantly surprised by the friendliness of the bartenders. We each sampled leftovers from two milkshakes. All food was delicious. They also offer a heavy discounted meal to anyone in need.

THE BRUSCHETTA. my nonvegan sister who lives in kc is a regular just for the bruschetta. I also love the CLT. It’s not a direct replica of a blt but it is sooo good. Buffalo cauliflower is great as well if you can handle heat

Not good, a shadow of the real Cafe Gratitude - Edit
I have been here five times. This is not the same as the Café Gratitudes on the West Coast. The food is similarly listed in the menu, but feels like an over-salted caricature. I really want to like it here due to the limited vegan options in Kansas City, however I do not. After too many bad experiences, I will definitely not return.

Fancy meal out - Edit
I visited Cafe Gratitude for a family meal out for the one night we were staying in Kansas City. The place in general is a little pretencious, with silly food names and things. The portions are also really small and everything is really expensive. However they are really yummy!!!! I like that they didnt really use meat substitutes, just veggies n nuts n things. I probably wouldnt visit often but every once in a while for a fancy meal!! The staff were nice too.

vegan, fresh, but slow and inconsistent - Edit
juices, elixers, appetizers, and desserts are always good. Main dishes are inconsistent. I was happy to see so many creative vegan options. Don't plan to be in a hurry though. I've been there and had good service and everything delish, then I've had bad experiences like today. Loooong wait after we were seated before we saw the waitress, she served a couple that arrived 10 min after us first and chatted them up, before coming to take our order. After we ordered we waited another long time for food. after the appetizer we waited another long time for our main dishes When she brought our food the waitress said "thanks for your patience our kitchen is short." If felt judgy, we were not feelnig patient, we were about 5 min away from asking for our check and leaving. After all of that waiting my eggplant was overcooked & dry. I ordered the same thing last time and it was really good, so hopefully they get their groove back. From the time we were seated until we got our food we were there 90 minutes. (This was about 1:00 on Saturday when we arrived). After a few weeks to allow what I assume was new kitchen staff to learn the menu I would go again for dinner and maybe with a group when I have time, but it is unlikely we will be back for lunch. My Saturday afternoons are too valuable.
