Vegetarian cafe turned vegan in 2014. The lunch menu consists of a few set meals plus baked goods and espresso drinks. Menu includes bagel with hummus, risotto, salad, curry, soup, and vegan cakes. Emphasis is slow food using local produce. Quiet for the noisy Shinsaibashi area, on a side street off of the main drag. Cafe is located on the second floor, above a shop currently under renovation. Reported closed, Dec 2019.

Very nice - Edit
This little place is tucked away just off the main drag and on the second floor. It's a really cute cafe run by a nice friendly couple. Myself and boyfriend both got a creamy veg soup dish with salad and hummus, all was fresh and tasty. We were in need of this type of meal and it didn't disappoint. We finished off with a strawberry cheesecake, raw nutty style which was very nice.

DELICIOUS, DELICIOUS, DELICIOUS! - Edit
The tastiest meal I have had in Japan to date (After being here for two weeks). The curry set was full of flavour and the fresh juice and smoothies were amazing. Even my omni friends couldn’t complain (For a change).

Great Ambience & Food - Edit
Although going to Japan is usually all about trying to find whatever vegetarian-version Japanese food we can, Cafe Atl puts up a good fight. Particularly good are its rice served with tomato broth. The staff do speak English and the place offers non-onion/garlic options. Serving can be a tad smaller than usual but maybe that's just extra cravings for their amazing food😉Cafe is cosy and offers a nice view of the street from upstairs; has a restroom.

One of my favourite places to eat when I'm in Osaka. The food is always so tasty and the service is very friendly. I always leave feeling very full but not heavy.

The place had very little options of vegan food. - Edit
I had a dish of rice and tofu which were ok, nothing special. My girlfriend ordered the chocolate cupcake/muffin and it was HORRIBLE!! Tasteless. I’m very ashamed and disappointed because it was my girlfriend’s first time trying vegan food and the muffin was disgusting.
Read moreThey didn’t have a big menu so not many options for desserts either. I ended up having a toasted bread with peanut butter and banana on top (nothing special again) and the highlight was the cheesecake. I believe that if it wasn’t for the cheesecake I’d have given the place a 2 stars.

Misleading and barely any options - Edit
We looked at the photos on the app and we were very excited to try this place. Until we arrived... barely anything on the menu and pretty expensive for average food and small servings. We found it very misleading. They also put pressure on my partner to order something. He didn’t want anything after realising the disappointment.

Nice retreat - Edit
The area is very busy and this place was peaceful to get lunch. Jack Johnson music playing, a good vibe. We both ordered the Curry Set out of the three options available. The spice/seasonings were good and the meal was filling. Would definitely return.

Very tasty place in the tourist must see area of Shinsaibashi - Edit
Never had a tastier double soy latte (with homemade brown sugar syrup), really delicious. Came here every morning while in Osaka to get my cuppa. I recommend the iced latte, comes in a tall glass, pour in the syrup and be ready to taste greatness haha

Really delicious food but a bit expensive considering the portion size, although understandable because they use organic ingredients. Excellent service and so close to the main shopping district!

Delicious food. Great environment - Edit
The food is all organic and vegan and delicious. Prices similar to other Western vegan restaurants. I'd recommended the set meal with the spicy lentils and the cold soy latte. The interior is nice and perfect for a nice sit down dinner or a date. And, the owners are super friendly and know English! Note: this is not street food. This is a very cool sit down restaurant.

Delicious Vegan Lunch Set - Edit
Really cute place near Dotonbori in Osaka, completely vegan. They do a lunch set which includes and appetiser, main meal and a coffee or tea for 1500 yen (approx £10). English menu and staff spoke great English too. Options today included potato quiche, tomato risotto and homemade bagel with humous and vegan coleslaw. All were delicious! I highly recommend if you are looking for a break from traditional Japanese food!

The menu is set so you can't pick individual food items, but it's worth getting. The beet and tomato soup was so good. I ate the curry and bagel with hummus as the main course on two separate occasions and I would recommend either one as they were delicious. The matcha banana cake for dessert is 500 yen extra but so worth it. Be careful though, if you go at night it might already be sold out. Chocolate cake was nothing special. Also, the soy latte, hot or cold, was very good.

Good food and friendly staff - Edit
I went here on a Sunday, around 1 pm and the place was empty (a few other customers entered later). It's a very small place which seats about 15 people I think.
Read moreYou choose from a set menu, where you have 3 options for the starter and 3 options for the main + a choice of coffee (or latte, espresso etc.) or tea for 1.500 Yen. For 500 Yen extra, you can also get a dessert.
Portions are average "Japanese size" I would say, so not very big.
Pros: Good food quality, Friendly staff
Cons: Not many options, Slightly more expensive than other restaurants

Sleepy cafe - Edit
This was a lovely cosy little restaurant that we found but it was quite expensive for what they offered. You had to have a set menu (if you wanted more than a cake or a snack). It was Y1500 for a starter, main and drink. Included drinks were only coffee or black tea (you paid extra for a soft drink). The portions were small and the service was really slow considering there were only 3 options for each of the two courses. I would suggest a snack here but if you are starving hungry, in a hurry or on a budget probably not the best choice for you!

Super tasty bagels and hummus made fresh on site each day. Everything i've had has been delicious. and there are even some great organic ingredients available for purchase too! eg. lentils, flour etc
Read moreBUT I've been here a few times and twice I had to wait 45 minutes for a table for one. It's very small and gets to full capacity at around 12 people. So my advice is to go as soon as they open for lunch.

Great spot in the heart of the city and near the touristy spots. We had the restaurant to ourselves for dinner. Everything was delicious! A little expensive though. Felt like it was a place better suited to lunch or coffee/snack rather than dinner. Friendly staff :)
