Good bakery for sweets - Edit
This is a great little bakery located in the heart of Toronto (note that this bakery is more focused on sweets and not so much things like loaves of bread, although there are some breads). Always lots of exciting options, including oat-based soft serve ice cream, cinnamon buns and Nanaimo bars. All food is vegan and gluten free. The ice cream is so silky and creamy. I loved it. Some of the baked goods are a little too sweet for me. I also found that a few treats were more obviously gluten free than others (e.g. the cinnamon bun was a bit more crumbly than a flour-based bun), but every option is still delicious. Make sure you get a good mixture of baked goods when you go!

Great sweet treats - Edit
First thing I noticed was they were not full of sugar. I know it is a sweet shop but some cookies and baked goods in most places are just loaded with sugar and that is all you taste.

A little pricey but I mean not by much. This is not your local grocery store sweets.
Staff was friendly.

This place is an absolute gem!!!!! - Edit
We popped in to have a look. Ended up leaving with oats and blueberry muffin and the baby (cinnamon roll with frosting) - I wasn't sure whether to go for it as I am not a massive fan of frostings as they are way too sweet most of the time. But as I really like cinnamom rolls I decided to give it a go and omg this must have been the best cinnamon roll I have had. That frosting was sooo delicious, not too sweet anf very soft. Great consistency. Cannot wait to have some more when I am in Toronto next time.

Best Vegan Cupcakes - Edit
It's the best vegan bakery in Toronto. Amazing cupcakes and muffins. If you happen to be in Kensington market, don't give this a miss!

Great bakery - Edit
Always happy with their baked goods and gluten-free is a bonus for my celiac friend. I've been a fan of their desserts since before I went vegan, which is a testament to how good they are.

Summer soft serve - Edit
Sometimes they do 2 for 1 with the day old cakes. Their soft serve ice cream is genuinely one of the best I have ever had - incredibly silky and tasty (I think it’s coconut based?). Cookies aren’t great!

Good vegan sweets and a great selection (cupcakes, muffins, cookies...). For gluten free very good, but if you don't mind gluten there are better places to go in my opinion.

baked goods galore - Edit
Everything I've tried here tastes great, but if I were to choose I would get a baked good from Cosmic Treats just down the street instead. Cinnamon buns are good although I wish there was a way they could warm them up a bit.

Awesome sweet treats, but no seating space - Edit
I love their sweets - all those I tried were just great. I specially recommend their Josephine Louise and Bourbon Caramel Chocolate Tarts. Great that they sell also discounted day-old stuff. And I also tried some of their ready-made frozen meals such as butter chicken and mac'n'cheese, but I was not impressed.
Read moreUnfortunately, there is no seating so you cannot enjoy your cupcake over a cup of coffee, and the place is generally not very cozy. If you come in the afternoon, specially at the weekend or on sunny days, you might find out that most things have already been sold out. Staff seems to change often, I have hardly seen any employee twice.
Pros: All vegan and gluten free, Discounted day-olds, You can buy a cookbook with their recipes!
Cons: High prices, No place to sit, Often sold out in the afternoon

Just mediocre - Edit
Disclaimer: I only have one mini cinnamon bun to judge this place off of, so make of this what you will. While the place is cute and the staff are friendly, the pastry I got was overpriced, too try, and its icing sickly sweet. I'm glad I got the minibun because I would not have been able to finish the regular.

Needs improvement:
Bread loafs - these are made with gums instead of gluten and you feel it immediately, it will last a few days if you’re sensitive. Perhaps they can remove gums from the bread- they are really bad for both your gut flora and inflammation.
Pros: Savory Pockets, Chalk board messages, Great location
Cons: Bread needs recipe update

Expensive - Edit
We bought a variety of things to try: cinnamon buns, brownie, chocolate chip cookie, butter tart, Mexican scramble savoury pocket, cupcake. The cinnamon buns were just ok. The cookie, brownie, cupcake and butter tart were pretty good. The pastry on the pocket was too thick and I removed one side to eat it.

Not as expected. - Edit
I had a muffin, 2 cinnamon rolls, mac and cheese and the filled pastry with soy bits so quite a good start to properly review it. The rolls were kinda hard and not fluffy like I'd expect them to be, as I make them myself as well. But to be fair, I had them the day after so maybe they weren't as fresh anymore. The muffin (cinnamon chocolate) was pretty nice, moist and rich in flavor.
Read moreMac and cheese... not a fan.
The filled pastry would be very nice if the dough used is not the same as you would get on an apple pie. It would be better if it was like a pizza dough.
The girl working there... no interest to even say hi. I had to wait for her to even be willing to talk to me so I can make my purchase.
With a few tweeks it would be a pretty good bakery. If I'm back in Toronto I'd check it out again.

Amazing buns, good baked goods - Edit
I went here after heavy heavy suggestions from a gf vegan friend. It's in a great location, with lots of choice, and the prices are slightly on the higher side, but reasonable. They do a good job of gf vegan baking and I like that there is this option available.
Read moreThe staff were not that friendly, they didn't have anything pumpkin spice even though it was the season (the other branch had it but was too far away), and there isn't really seating inside.
On taste - the cupcakes were disappointing, as was the crumble square. The cookies were alright. But the caramel slice and cinnamon rolls were divine - easily the best I've ever had.

Vegan and Gluten Free - Edit
I happened upon this place by accident but was really excited by their selection. I bought a butter tart and a sandwich cookie which I can't remember the name of. The butter tart was what I was most excited for but unfortunately it tasted like apple. They must have used apple sauce in the filling and KT overwhelmed the flavour.
Read moreThe sandwich cookie was divine. The texture was entirely normal, which I wasn't expecting for a gluten free dessert. It was a chocolate cookie with a very creamy and smooth icing filling. It was the perfect sweetness. I would highly recommend, if only I could remember the name.
One aspect I was disappointed with is that it is only a to-go shop and that there is nowhere to stay and enjoy your pastry.
Pros: All vegan and gluten free
Cons: No seating, takeout only

The best bakery! - Edit
We were in Toronto for about 10 days and went here about 6 times... We tried everything from their cinnamon buns, to their pumpkin soft serve ice cream and it was all brilliant. My favourite was the pumpkin scone (but only available on weekends at the time). Luckily they also sell Bunner's cook books so I now make their stuff back home too.

My favourite vegan bakery - Edit
Bunners is special. Gluten-free baked goods have a tendency to be dry, but Bunners manage to make theirs very moist and toothsome. I have never had vegan gluten-free cinnamon buns as good as theirs. Their muffins are amazing. Unlike other gluten-free bakeries, they don't try to jack up the flavour with way too much sugar: these are definitely desserts, but they're not insanely sweet.

Fun little bake shop - Edit
Stopped in here awhile back and was impressed at the ambiance. It’s a cute place with and helpful service. I purchased some kefir and a morning glory muffin and a savory “meat” pie. The only thing bad I can say is the muffin, which I ate the next day, was sooooooooooo dry and boring. The kefir was yummy and so was the pie. I definitely need to go back to try more stuff!
