More than a restaurant, more than a bookshop - Edit
Even when the kitchen is closed Brac remains open, serving up delicious coffee with vegan milks and vegan cakes, biscuits and panini. A cool and relaxed oasis away from the mad crowds and great. We have been coming twice a day

Tasty food in a fun and quirky spot - Edit
Fresh, vegetable-filled food with interesting flavor combinations, like potato & ginger in the tortelloni. Fun to try 3 different smaller portions (a salad, primo, and special) on the plate instead of just picking one, although because only about half the menu is vegan, it’s tricky to get the perfect combination.

Amazing vegan food - Edit
Lots of vegan dishes on the menu, I tried the homemade pasta with artichokes and spinach and the chocolate cake and both were very delicious! Also eating in a bookstore is just so cool and unique.

Tasty modern Italian food - Edit
Heard things about reservations would go, but walked over and they sat us right away without them. Had a picky kid, and they made plain pasta for them no problem. Food for others was very good, though rich. Having the combination of items was good so you can balance flavors. Ambiance is nice. Some light jazz and bookshelves. The courtyard tree with fetters was neat. Would try here again, though maybe not every day.

Great place for lunch - Edit
Wife and I decide to go to Brac Liberia. Slightly off the beaten track and What a GREAT decision it was. Food was outstanding. Service “par excellance”. Wine - the lady of the house suggested and brought me an absolutely delicious glass of an Italian Chianti.

Amazing food in cute bookstore - Edit
We loved our lunch at Brac, they offer a vegetarian/vegan menu with many fresh options. We took the option where you could pick three dishes that were served on one plate. The food was creative and flavourful. The staff was super friendly enough it was a joy to have lunch at this hidden gem!

Beautiful setting, kind of disappointing - Edit
This was on my list of places to visit whilst in Florence and was also recommended to me by one of the ladies who worked in a nearby shop!
Read moreThe location is amazing and very unique however I thought the food was lacklustre. Unfortunately we missed them serving hot food so was only offered the baked goods and hot drinks, there was a few vegan cakes available but nothing mind blowing. I had a cookie and a smoothie.
I felt the staff were not very accommodating and a bit stand offish, maybe because we looked a bit lost and confused as to where we could sit and what food was vegan but I thought they would be used to that working in a tourist city. Just simple things like not helping us by opening the door with hot drinks etc .. just the little things that make your experience more enjoyable!

Great food - good staff - Edit
They have several vegan options available (all labeled). All the items we tried were quite good.
Read moreThe staff seemed nice but a little lethargic when we first arrived for our reservation, taking a full 20-25 minutes to even get us the wine menu (after having to ask).
Would still recommend for a nice dinner experience!

Amazing food in a cozy book store - Edit
My husband and I were led to Brac by positive feedback of some friends and the interesting concept of a restaurant in a book store.
Read moreIt absolutely exceeded our expectations! Some of the best vegan Italian food we've ever had. For 18€, a full plate with a pasta dish, a main course and a salad, with 2 to 4 vegan choices per course.

Perfect spot for a coffee & treat - Edit
Such a peaceful space! We stopped by here to grab a cup of coffee this morning & read for an hour. I enjoyed a soy cappuccino (unsure of what other milks they have) and a slice of vegan banana bread with a soy-based whipped cream. Both were delicious! There were three cake/pastry options that were vegan and the brunch menu seemed fairly easy to veganize. We ordered at the coffee bar & took our drinks to sit in the patio space outside. Really lovely & the staff was so helpful in telling me whats vegan.

Yummy and quaint and inexpensive - Edit
I don’t know why it’s vegetarian and not completely vegan. The vegan food was delicious. And a very quaint little shop with good wifi. A little hard to find. There are no signs out front so be sure to have the street number at hand so you can find it.

Best meal I've had so far in Italy, and that's high praise indeed! Beautiful venue, really interesting menu, friendly knowledgeable staff who gave great advice about wine pairing, but best of all was the fantastic food. If I wasn't leaving tomorrow I'd go back again!

Good food, silent restaurant - Edit
We each chose different to cover as many options as possible and really enjoyed everything we ate (photos attached with descriptions). The wine we were suggested was also very good, I advised ‘dry white’ and the wine was great.
Read moreWe arrived just after they opened for lunch and we’re sat in the restaurant by ourselves for most of the meal in complete silence - does detract a little from the experience, but still giving 5* and would suggest you visit for dinner instead with a booking for a better vibe

Cute place, OK food - Edit
The establishment is a dream come true; an art bookstore with a vegetatian cafe, delightful interior design. The food however was a bit disappointing. I opted for the menu and I will fully admit that part of the reason my review is not so positive is that i failed to consider how my three course choice would pair together. Some things were way too salty, i found the seitan dish overpowering. The avocado carpaccio was mainly avocado, and it was too much. Overall, I have mixed feelings

Lovely place with good food - Edit
Lovely, from the outside inconspicuously looking place away from the heart of tourism. The homemade tortelloni were delicious and they have many vegan options on the menu to choose from. You can order a mixed plate including a salad, main course and one of their specials of your choice to try multiple dishes. They also offer a great selection of wines. The staff was very friendly. Unfortunately you only can be seated outside if you are only ordering drinks. I didn’t enjoy the starters served (carrot sticks with a bit of oregano and two slices of unsalted bread).

Very stylish and interesting café/restaurant - Edit
The best part about this restaurant/café is the atmosphere and location. It has a very stylish and pretty book store inside and overall is just really pretty!
Read moreThe food therefore doesn’t match the high expectations the location gives you. They offer a variety of vegan dishes and the option to order three of them as a combined plate version for 18€ in total. I tried the plate version and ordered avocado carpaccio, some kind of potato falafel and ravioli filled with plums (all vegan).
The biggest disappointment was the appetizer being (slightly dry) bread with just plain and dry carrot sticks. For a first impression at this place that was not good.
The food I ordered was okay but a little bit underwhelming according to the presentation and price. The pasta was too thick and too Al dente, overall all three dishes on the plate lacked some flavor. Maybe I would come back just for the café and the atmosphere but not the food itself.
Pros: Atmosphere and location , Variety of vegan dishes , Presentation and service
Cons: Food doesn’t match up the location and atmosphere , Appetizer was dry and boring

Creative veganized Italian dishes - Edit
Loved the amazing menu with many vegan options like pastas and salads. The tortellini was good, the sauces in particular. The seitan masala was insanely good, the texture of the seitan was incredibly meat-like, I almost got worried. Avocado carppacio was excellent! Get the single plate for EUR 18 so you can choose two or three dishes to try (one salad, main and special).

What a nice place! - Edit
Not far from Piazza della Signoria we’ve found this restaurant that offers a mainly vegan menu. Vegetarian dishes are veganized on request. the restaurant is located inside a bookshop that offers a selection of books that speak to the conscience, spirit, information and evolution of human beings. Very interesting. There are also many nice veg cookbooks. We went for lunch and got the combo but with only two dishes. We then tasted two types of stuffed pastas that were very very good and aromatic. Together with the pasta we’ve ordered one Kofta and one Dosha. The kofta were the most anonymous dish among the ordered ones, good but not special, while the others were really good, with a great knowledge of herbs and spices. Indeed every plate was accurately thought to have a complexity of flavors. It was not just an Indian style taste or Thai, that is quite recognizable. There is something more in what they offer. Nice portions. No vegan certified wines available. The staff was super friendly. We spent really good time there far from the crowded city center, but yet in the city center. We’ll go back soon. Recommend.
