Not the best - Edit
There are so many great vegan/vegetarian restaurants in Chiang Mai that I would skip this one. I ordered a smoothie and a veggie burger. The veggie burger was okay and the smoothie was warm. Not just not cold, but literally warm. Probably won’t go back.

lovely healthy food - Edit
I love this place, the food they have feels very healthy without being boring at all. The salad bowls are huge and served with a very tasty sauce. Not everything is vegan, but a lot of things are, there's definitely enough choice. The one downside is that some staff members don't seem to care much about service, though some other ones are great so it's a bit hit and miss really. Don't go when you're in a hurry as food is known to arrive slowly.

Amazing Food - Edit
I don't know what is with all the reviews about waiting time, I've been here over 10 times this month alone and I've never waited more than 15 minutes for my food. They make everything from scratch, no oil, msg, or other additives. Super healthy and delicious food. There veggie burger is the best one I've found in chiang mai

einfach lecker - Edit
Sehr gemütlich. Statt Stühlen gibt es Matten, auf denen man sitzt. Das Essen ist sehr lecker und auf Wunsch vegan zubereitet. Zudem gibt es einige 'raw'-Gerichte auf der Karte.

Extremely tasty vegan Thai food! The curry was just delicious and so were the juices and salads (even though I prefer Som Tam with crushed peanuts in top).

Passable sustenance - Edit
After stopping curiously one busy night but being warned by a woman there she'd been waiting an hour for her food, we went back the next day and had the big salad with nuts and the vegan burger. Happily, we only waited about ten minutes.
Read moreLess happily, the staff, while not actively bad, wasn't the best. It might have been nice to be warned that the big salad was essentially the same as the salad served with (and also essentially on) the burger. The meal was largely shredded cabbage and carrots.
Kind of nitpicking now, but we shared both items and were just given a second bowl to dump half the salad into. That kind of salad isn't easy to manoeuvre without proper tools! The guy serving us was kind of fumbling over himself the entire time too.
We took the last of it home as we got tired of eating the same thing, and bagging it up somehow took several minutes. Can't really recommend this one sadly.
Pros: Thai and western dishes, Relaxing space
Cons: Pricey, Some dishes uninspired, Staff left something to be desired

Excellent food, Staff so so - Edit
The different dishes there are really very yummy and you can choose from a great variety. But unfortunately the staff isn't that friendly, rather conservative.

Excellent vegan food - Edit
We had a free day on Saturday so decided to take a walk around the Old City. The Bodhi Tree was the nearest vegan-friendly cafe so we headed over there. Am so glad we did as the place was so nice and serene and the food was excellent.
We tried the following:
1. Red Curry with mixed vegetables & tofu 80 THB
2. Tom Yam Soup with mushrooms, vegetables and tofu 100 THB
3. Burmese Tea Leaf Salad (raw) 100 THB
4.Rice (we wanted brown rice but they ran out so we had sticky rice and a bit of brown rice) 20 THB
5. Apple & celery juice 80 THB
I liked how they had an entire page of raw food on their menu. All vegan options are clearly marked. In fact, they state on their menu that all dishes can be turned into vegan dishes - YAY!
Highly recommended
From their FB page: "All ingredients we use for cooking like soy sauce, oil, sugar and salt are also exclusively organic. We do not use fish, oyster or any other animal product based sauces to cook our meals. We try to do as many things as possible ourselves like drying our own herbs and fruits for our sweets, making our own mayonnaise, nut milk, yoghurt, salat sauces, dips, sweets etc.
Any preservatives, additives, MSG, GMO, refined sugar and salt etc. are strictly banned from our kitchen."

Hippie/yogi cafe with ok food. Service was good and was relaxing sitting in the peaceful cafe but lots of other veg places with better food. Had to add chilli and soy to my morning glory and fried rice for the first time during my travels.

Wasn’t a fan - Edit
Drastically overpriced food which isn’t justified by the sub-par quality or small portions. Owner was friendly the first time I came for a small breakfast, and I didn’t realize what a rip-off it was, however the next time I suggested to my girlfriend that we actually try a meal here I was pretty disappointed not only by the food, but by their crazy prices. Serves egg, and clearly a place that uses the term “vegan” to make money from unwitting tourists. This spot was a let down.

I came here once - I ordered the "pancakes", only to be disappointed to be served just one pancake. Although the serving size was small, the pancake was actually really well made! It would've been nice to get a stack of three.

I am staying in CM for a while and had a cooking class with lotus. The attention to detail she has for flavor, products and cleanliness was amazing. Besides this she has a lot of knowledge on health and what herbs you need for what.

Yes, they moved to a lovely place in a quiet Soi (street). Beautiful and clean teak place where you can have an outside shaded thai vegan cooking course. I loved it.
This is the new adress untill the listing updates:

Tucked in a back ally, beautiful old woman cooking each meal by hand. Service is slow because she makes it herself and then brings it out to you. Bodhi tree roots hang from the open aired ceiling and is very serene. Salad dressing is so yummy

not the best :( - Edit
We might've just been unlucky with this one but it was not really the best experience, food-wise. My mom and I were actually going to the original Bodhi Tree Cafe for breakfast but it was closed, so we just went here instead. We both ordered the muesli and fruit with vegan yoghurt and it wasn't really anything special :(( I ordered a juice as well and it was kinda warm when I got it and the taste wasn't too good either

Our food took forever to come out despite the place being quiet. The sandwich was fantastic, the raw banana ball was good, but the avocado soup and som tam were average at best. Don't think I would go back to this restaurant.

so-so food, nice people - Edit
I ordered the glass Noodle Salad with mushroom, Tofu and veggies which had way too much onions and green spring onion. The dish also felt like it was not very attentively friend, with the glass Noodle a bit overcooked and somewhat lumpy. The lemon juice with peppermint was very refreshing on a hot afternoon. Staff were nice.

Disappointing - Edit
The menu at Bodhi Tree Cafe looked very appetising with many vegan options and the description of the place as warm and welcoming sounded great. Unfortunately not my experience. Ordered iced coffee with vegan milk of the day, tasteless. Also ordered the raw vegan cheesecake which was frozen and again pretty tasteless. There wasn't a welcoming atmosphere. Really nothing special 😞
