Better Dessert than Food - Edit
At this restaurant I had the delicious original waffles and a really spicy spaghetti. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves spicy food and sweet desserts.

Very enjoyable experience - Edit
I really enjoyed the whole experience of dining here. Although more than my budget, it was worth it and you can see that every dish is given great attention. I chose a Taiwanese meal option to enjoy the local cuisine in vegan form. It was a delicious array of items to try. Don't forget the establishment's entrance is at the back of the building.

Great food, amazing atmosphere - Edit
First a word of warning: as of February 2019 the entrance has moved! The address is still valid and the restaurant is still at the same place, but the entrance has been moved to the back of the building. Also, the menu changes regularly. Several of the meals reviewed here are not available anymore. According to the staff, the Taiwanese like change in their menu so they keep coming back regularly.
Read moreHaving said that, Blossom Rena is a welcoming restaurant. The decor is beautiful and the staff is by far the most welcoming I have experienced during my stay in Taipei. The menu offers everything from Western to Asian food. I went for a Taiwanese special, because that's why I am there.
The waitress suggested the "Stewed veg ball in vegan crab butter". This is a set menu of a bowl of soup with three big balls, two glasses of vegetables, clear soup, a bowl of rice and a small dessert (sweet plant based milk pudding). Everything is well made and the set menu brought a nice variety of flavors.
When I said that I was here to experience an authentic Taiwanese taste, the waitress brought me the vegan shrimps. They are amazing! I don't know how they compare to animal-shrimps as I never ate one in my life, but the texture, bite and spiciness of these vegan shrimps was almost addictive.
Pros: helpful, welcoming staff, wide variety of foods, fair prices
Cons: confusing entrance at the rear of the building

High quality vegan cafe - Edit
Read more in this vegan Taipei guide: https://itravelforveganfood.com/vegan-taipei-guide/
Read moreBlossom Rena is a fusion vegan cafe serving high quality food. It’s walking distance from Minquan West Road Station.
The Taiwanese mince rice is especially impressive in taste and texture. It uses peach gum (桃膠) which is an orange color resin from peach trees. When it’s cooked, it mimics the fat of meat very well because of its soft and melty texture. Other ingredients like mushrooms, water chestnuts and soy meat give it a satisfying mix of texture. Other choices include pasta and Japanese rice bowls.
They also serve delicious desserts like this creme brulee. It has a toffee caramel flavor, but could be a bit sweet for some. They also have ice cream waffle that seems to be a popular dish.
Pros: All vegan and delicious , Taiwanese minced meat rice is great

Pretty good vegan options - Edit
Enjoyed my meal here. Slightly above average prices. Nice space, but a little tricky to find since it’s actually on the back side of the main road.

Good Desserts - Edit
Was here July 2019. Saw this place listed on happycow and gave it a try. Here's my Blossom Rena Review. It's a cute little European style cafe. From the menu the staff recommended that we tried the fried stuffed eggplant (tasty), a curry flavored risotto (spicy and more like mixed rice than Italian), a spicy spaghetti (tasty). We also got a waffles with fresh fruit and chocolate sauce and the dessert creme brulee. The sweets were the stand-outs. Be sure to specify if you don't want spicy or just don't order the spicy dishes.

So lala experience. - Edit
The taste of the food was good. We had Thai salad, curry spaghetti and waffle. But all came to different timings. They have no professional time management like in a restaurant. And it was 3 people serving. 2 more at the kitchen and counter.
Read moreA bit unfriendly. Only one waiter kind of smiles. The rest got a blank face.
Pros: Nice food, Nice atmosphere when it’s quiet
Cons: A bit pricey, Service charge for that kind of bad service -.-, Smile and time management not good.

Been the for a couple times. Mostly the foods tasted great, I personally recommend Vegan Braised Pork Rice, which is new to the menu, enjoying this veg braised pork rice tastes like "real braised pork rice" without any suffering!

Okay meal, not good service - Edit
This is a very cute cafe with lots of space and pretty designs. The menu has lots of options, but that's about it. I ordered a Chinese soup and an iced latte, and my husband ordered a rice bowl and an iced tea. The waitress came out with a bowl, but could only tell us that it was tofu. We both ordered a kind of tofu dish! So we thought it was what I ordered since it was soup. We were waiting forever for my husband's dish, so I started eating. Meanwhile, we still hadn't get our drinks. The next dish came out when I was halfway done with the soup, and we then realized I had been eating his order! Luckily we have the same taste, so he was okay with eating my meal. I was already done with my dish by then though. After a little while longer, I got my latte, and then we still had to wait for his tea, which didn't arrive until he had finished his meal!
Read moreSo clearly the service is terrible. They staff was nice, just very poor with their timing. The food itself was pretty good. The soup that I ended up eating was decent. Not really worth the price though!

Good atmosphere, the owner is also the used-to-be only fully vegan restaurant in Taipei back then - Sophie's Garden. Good presentation, food is alright but the portion does not match the price you pay though. Service could be good and bad, they should really focus to improve on the service. And bigger potion pls!

Ok before you head out to this place...You should know that the pin here is wrong. We had to walk back several blocks to be able to find it. Look for BURGER KING. The entrance to the restaurant is between that and Hang Ten Outlet. *check the photo of the entrance that I uploaded here.

March 2018 Visit - Edit
It has a fairly nice interior with a relatively warm woody type of atmosphere. It has quite a few tables so it should be able to accommodate larger parties.
Read moreHowever I probably wouldn't go here again:
-The service seemed slow
-They forgot/took too long with part of my order
-They brought the food out in what I'd consider the wrong order (I consider this a minor issue)
-The English menus have no descriptions, pictures, or prices.
-The taco (sort of tacos?) was ok, but seemed quite expensive for the size
-The salad was more reasonable but it was still pricey and wasn't very good in my opinion. It had a strange slightly sweet fruity taste and seemed to have too much fruit (I think?) and not enough hummus (it was a hummus salad). I don't normally order salad but i"m pretty sure the Salads I've had at a restaurant like oh cha cha were much better.
It was simply too pricey for the amount of food and how it tasted (and the quality of the service) in my opinion and I think there are better options.

Depends on your taste - Edit
First of all: the happy cow map pin is in the wrong place! You have to copy the address into Google, otherwise you're not going to find it.
Read moreThe interior is quite nice, it's a very cozy place to sit for a while. I was there with two people, they ordered the curry steak and the oyster mushrooms as set menus. The curry stake was fantastic, the oyster mushrooms are nicely prepared, with a crispy crust of thyme, but I'd say they're not for everyone.
The sides are partly oily and cold, not in a really bad way, just in a I'm - paying-400NT-per-set kind of slightly unsatisfactory way.
I had the waffles and a smoothie. The smoothie was delicious, but too small for the price. The waffles looked quite fancy, tasted nice and crisp, albeit a bit dry.
There is an English translation for the menu, but without prices, so it's easier to have the staff explain you the Chinese menu.
All in all a very pleasant discovery if you know what to order.
