Good but overrated - Edit
Dishes were good, but small. Cheese balls could've included a sauce, baguette could've included some lettuce maybe.
Read moreFood was tasty, but overall we think it does not live up to the hype.
Pros: Chocolate mousse dessert, Garlic fries, Interior and atmosphere

Lovely food and service - Edit
We all had the stuffed tortellini and it was amazing to have a creamy sauce that tasted better than I remember cheese ever had! The service was lovely and the staff were all friendly and happy to give recommendations.

Vegan food and bar - Edit
I came here on a Friday evening, and things were pretty calm. There were just a couple of tables filled, but otherwise, the place was pretty empty, which was great for me. I had finished a long week at a conference and just needed somewhere to relax and read/write for a bit, so this was perfect.
Read moreI had a glass of beer and the vegan cheese plate. It came with 4 cheeses, pickled beets, and a handful of breads/crackers. It was really tasty. The place is a bit of a trek from the more frequented parts of town, but I would come back to try their other offerings.

Amazing food and bar - Edit
Since I haven’t been vegan for longer then 1,5years and been abroad a while I have a lot of restaurant to try out in Gothenburg, my hometown. I’ve already heard a lot of good rumors about Black Bird and it sure lived up to them! The food was a-mazing! The people working there we’re lovely and I will sure be back, if you have the chance to go there; DO IT!

Nice chilled out place - Edit
A nice place to spend an evening, although slightly lacking in atmosphere somehow. I had the cheese plate, which was pretty good. The IPA was very pricey, but I guess that's Sweden for you.

Good restaurant! - Edit
I have eaten there many times since I live in Gothemburg and I think it's a cool place to go with friends. Tasty food, not the healthiest but still worth try! Nice music and helpful staff. They also have good beers and wine, amazing desserts. Close to the tram stop Stigbergstorg. Reasonable price for being Sweden.
Read moreOne of my favorite dishes is the soup I tried last time I went there. Unfortunately I forgot what was on it! I shared a picture in the gallery anyway.
Remember to book! It's quite popular and often full.
Pros: Delicious desserts, Cool music and place, Helpful staff
Cons: Not the healthiest option , I recommend to book in advance

well made seitan - Edit
Homemade seitan fajitas was very good, spicey and really tasty. Banh mi' was good too, crispy, spicey and a good mix of flavours.

My favorite restaurant - Edit
Blackbird never disappoints. I can come here and pay a reasonable price for absolutely delicious and inspiring entrées, appetizers, and desserts.
Read moreThe rotating menu with new dishes all the time is awesome!
What's not to love? Nothing really. Would be amazing if they went all organic. I'm in love with this restaurant, so I write this critique with care.
Also a real testament to kickstarter funding of a restaurant. Inspiring.
Pros: great food, great staff, great atmosphere
Cons: could be more organic ingredients?

Göteborg's best vegan restaurant - Edit
Blackbird is a the ideal place for a vegan. Everything they serve is vegan, so you don't need to worry about ingredients (and that's a calming feeling).
Read moreThey have a rotating menu which comes with changes every now and then. They try hard to create tasty meals that are both generous in size and taste amazing. After 10 or so visits to this place, we've always left the place with a big grin on our content faces.
Only negative thing with the place is that it can sometimes be difficult to get a table, since the place is so popular.
We've tried vegan and vegan-friendly restaurants in many countries and Blackbird has set the standard when we compare other restaurants. So far no other place has topped this place.
Bring your veg and non-veg friends here and they'll guaranteed be satisfied with the evening. Strongly recommended!
Pros: Everything
Cons: Sometimes difficult to get tables

A bar with a nice name and good food - Edit
An all vegan bar with great cooks in the kitchen, what isn't there to like! And unlike most bars they change the menu and tend to experiment with the food which i can appriciate. I'd like if the could get more food on the plate and it's a bit pricey for me but besides that, I'd gladly go there again.

Amazing place! - Edit
One of the best restaurants I've been to in Sweden! The food is pretty cheap, and the place is really cozy. We came on a Friday night and waited 5 minutes to get a table. For starters we had the Sweet potato fries and chili cheese tops, everything homemade and not greasy at all. As main course I had the Seitanschnitzel with potatoes, tasted better than the "real deal". Would definitely come back!

This is a nice place that need a little bit more healthy options. The first time I was there two out of three maindishes were deep fired. The food was pretty bland with deepfried cheese with deepfried potatoes and some grated raw beetroot. Staff was friendly, the place was packed, on a tuesday.

Perfect for everybody with a sweet tooth - Edit
Me and my company (both non-vegans) had chocolate truffles and a passion-fruit meringue tart and we were blown away by the awesomeness of their tasty food. The tart crust was probably the best short pastry I came across in my whole life. The toppings of the truffles were smartly chosen and fitted the taste of the chocolate very well without drowning out the cocoa. We only had dessert so I can't make any remarks about the savory dishes they serve, though the plates for our fellow guests looked wonderful.

Wonderful little vegan restaurant. - Edit
I went here based on the Happy Cow reviews and I was not disappointed. The menu is in Swedish, but my server explained all the options to me in detail. I ordered the fried tofu and bok choy. It was the best dish on my Scandinavian trip so far. It was very tasty with a bit of a kick. I had a wonderful vegan cheesecake for dessert. The alcohol offerings were slightly limited since they want to ensure that they're vegan. My server was extremely friendly and my orders came out very quickly. As far as prices are concerned, they were cheap for Sweden, but comparable to the US.

A Great Bar In Gothenburg - Edit
I finally made it to Blackbird, and I was not disappointed. It is a bit of an alternative atmosphere, so it wont be for everyone. That being said, the staff were great and the food was really good. It's a bar, so don't expect the healthiest options.

Amazing seasonings - Edit
Were there for the first time yesterday. We booked the last table available :-) We chose 2 of the 4 maincourses. Amazing good well seasoned food. I was disturbed by the music but then Me and my husband were the oldest in there. Might be a generation thing. Looking forward to go back and try the other dishes.
