Cute Little Cafe - Edit
I came here for breakfast one morning, I had the haggis and tofu scramble breakfast roll, plus a pot of peppermint tea ☺️ It was so delicious and it was such a nice warm place to be on a winters morning! I even got a biscoff cruffin to go (which was lovely too 😄)

Cozy and Friendly - Edit
My mom and I visited in the evening to get a few treats. We got a chocolate mint (cupcake) and a Cranachan. They were both absolutely delicious!
Read moreWe also bought an almond croissant and a chocolate croissant for tomorrow's breakfast. The owner kindly told us how best to preserve it and warm it up.
We loved the interesting coffee mug designs as well. Would definitely recommend to stop by and try what they have to offer.

Popped in for a hot drink to warm up from the winter chill while walking around Edinburgh’s many bookshops. Will definitely be back the next time we visit the city.

Quick brunch - Edit
I wanted to see and try something from top Happy Cow bakery/cafe in Edi. My intention was to sit down and enjoy coffee with something from menu. That morning they were full so I decided for takeaway option. They made my bagel in front of me so I could see that they are making really filling bagel for me with great ingredients. I really enjoyed my bagel and definitely will come again to try something sweet. The owner was great, calm and quick.

Amazing food and friendly service! - Edit
I had the bacon and egg roll which was incredible!! So tasty and came with a lovely celery soup. My partner had the double tofu Benedict which he was very very impressed by (he couldn’t stop going on about it all day!). I also had one of the biscoff brioche knots which was basically perfection. The staff were so friendly and it was a super cute cafe. Will definitely be going again!

Absolutely amazing! - Edit
We visited the black rabbit and we wanted to try everything as the menu looks great! We had the hungry rabbit and it was absolutely delicious, we also tried the tofu Benedict with bacon and it was the best thing I had since going vegan! We also shared a cruffin and it was truly amazing! Sadly we live far away but the next time we visit Edinburgh we’ll definitely come back!!

Not for me. - Edit
Went in for lunch on a busy Saturday with high hopes, based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews.
Read moreOrdered the quiche of the day and I have to say, it was virtually inedible. Horribly gloopy and stodgy with a pretty poor side salad.
My friend had the hungry rabbit sandwich and was even less happy than I was.
I honestly can’t understand the five start ratings. Maybe it’s the cakes. For me, this business needs to do better.
I wish I could have liked it but I can’t recommend. Sorry.

Hi, thanks for your feedback.
Read moreWe are genuinely sorry you did not enjoy our food, the hungry rabbit is one of our best selling sandwiches and the quiche is another well received dish, also we do check on all the food we send out and that day we had no complaints, so I can only encourage you to share your feedback in person with us or the staff working next time you come in and we will be happy to make things right for you.

All the food here is good, but I swear their baked goods are made with some kind of wizardry. Try the cruffins. Try everything, but definitely try the cruffins.

Awesome food! Friendly vibe! - Edit
Award winning savoury scones with homemade cashew butter. Vegan egg and bacon roll is delicious, as is the quiche of the day with kale salad. Egg Benedicts with bacon was out of this world! The biscoff cruffins are original and so good! So much to choose from this is my new favourite lunch spot and after work hang out. Nice vibe with good music and they care about the environment too!

Sensational, magnificent, sublime - Edit
It's not often you're left speechless after a breakfast meal but that's just what happened on our recent trip to Edinburgh. The tofu royal and tofu benedict dishes were sensational. The hollandaise sauce was magnificent and the salmon and bacon were sublime. We savoured every bite and wished for more. We also visited again the next day but this time just for a shared cruffin and two spiced lattes (pumpkin and ginger bread). Again we were not disappointed. Staff are friendly and we will definitely visit again next time. You should too...

Wonderful spot - Edit
Incredible choices served with love and passion for vegan food. Had a ‘salmon’ and ‘cream cheese’ bagel that was out of this world! An almond choc croissant made on the premises and we were offered so many tasters of cheese and even a pastrami style meat option! Will definitely head right back there next time we are in Edinburgh 💚

Really excellent food! - Edit
A complete find. So many vegan options we wanted to buy everything. The rabbits horn is excellent and the bacon and egg roll is the closest I’ve had to the real thing. The cruffins are excellent and great coffee. I can’t fault the food and the staff were so friendly and chatty and welcoming. Shame we aren’t local as i would be back in a heartbeat. Great to support a small vegan business.
