A delicious lunch out of the sun - Edit
This is down an alley but easy to find. Friendly staff. But they didn't properly understand the order so we got something different. But it was tasty and no problem! It was really lovely and quiet and cool after the bustle of the temples.

Pad Thai too oily - Edit
The restaurant looks cute and the staff was nice. Sadly I ate the only not delicious food of my trip here. The pad thai was my first one ever and i thought I do not like this dish in general but I loved it in other restaurants. So maybe do not order pad thai

VERY tasty Pad Thai - Edit
Pad Thai has never been very interesting for me but Began Vegan’s Pad Thai was TASTY! I would happily order it again and again. There are many Thai options on the menu, and not just the basics, there are some interesting options. There are Western options too.
Read moreI did ask for my dish without plant based “crispy pork” but the people at the table next to me seemed to enjoying theirs. I think the balance of dishes with fake meat and without is good for a mixed group of vegan/veg/omnivore. Everyone will be happy. I’m going back to Bangkok and look forward to trying more things on the menu!
I will add that I had the blueberry cashew cheesecake and didn’t like it, edible but not delicious.
Pros: Tasty, Pad Thai, Location

Great coffee and brunch spot - Edit
We were regulars at Began Vegan while we were in Bangkok and it was pretty much our local coffee and brunch spot. In the air conditioned space you can summon the staff to your table with a remote device. Their smoothies were fantastic, specifically the blueberry/strawberry/banana combo that became my staple. Coffee was good both iced - which I had most days - and hot, and, while I had one made with so good - in my experience the most commonly used vegan soy milk in Thailand - I came to choose their own house milk regularly. I tried some of their traditional Thai dishes, which were pretty good and interestingly presented, but with smaller portions and not as cheap as you might get at a less upmarket place. Generally the sweets were very nice but some better than others. The cinnamon roll was a little doughy. Staff were lovely and all-in-all this was a nice place to come for a relaxed coffee in the morning.

Disappointing - Edit
I really wanted to love this place and have the most amazing meal. Maybe I made a mistake ordering the burger (pricey at 250) which didn't have much flavour and what it did have tasted odd. I was expecting a faux meat but it was weird beige thing in a bun. Smoothie was good. Maybe other dishes are amazing but I won't be going back just in case they aren't.
Read morePros: Great location, Nice staff , Good philosophy
Cons: Bland, Odd taste burger, Expensive
Began.Vegan
We are so sorry to hear that. Our bun is homemade with unique recipes so it’s may odd for some customers. We will improve our recipes and check the burger again.

Tasty food near wat pho :) - Edit
I highly recomended visiting this place for lunch when you are visiting wat pho. The staff was very nice and the food was tasty. I had the pad thai, chocolate cake and a matcha latte, which cost about 300 baht in total. So it's not too expensive.

Not bad - Edit
Cute little vegan place near to Wat Pho, easy to find when you've been doing the tourist thing all day. Ordered pad Thai, and although the portion was small, it was pretty tasty. However, it was a little on the oily side, especially those little bacon bits. Service was OK and the super boosting mocktail was delicious.
Read morePros: Quick, Relatively cheap-ish, Good selection
Cons: Little bit oily, Expensive but given the location understandable, Serving size could be bigger

A meh experience - Edit
Food was ok. Taste was one note. It was oily. The biggest issue is that they took pad kee mao and used spaghetti noodles instead the of the flat rice noodles. Service was ok. They weren’t that helpful when we asked about the noodles.

Looks amazing. - Edit
Saw this place by chance. It was too early in the afternoon for me to eat. So I took some pics, and looked at their menu - all vegan and extensive choices, looks great. Plus the strawberry vegan cake with frosting looked amazing. I regret not getting it for take out for later. On a side street near the river. Looks very worthwhile

Decent Thai and Western vegan food - Edit
Good place with decent but not amazing food. I came here quite a few times because I was doing a course nearby and tried a lot of their menu - I found most dishes nice but nothing special, others weren't great (but never terrible). Broadly I'd recommend their more traditional Thai dishes, like the curries, soups, etc.
Read moreThe rice is all presented prettily in little different-coloured mounds. And it was cool to be able to try laab for the first time (normally pork).

Cute place with pretty food - Edit
The food here was pretty, and a tranquil escape from the busy tourist attractions nearby. The service is quick and friendly, and the presentation of the food was really pretty. The corn soup was a little sweet for me, but the pad ga prao looked great!

Began Vegan is across the river from the Dawn Temple. It’s a small space frequented by tourists with a somewhat disjointed operation. That’s said there are some interesting options and desserts. The food itself wasn’t particularly notable and the inside was rather cold. Maybe I visited on a sleeker day.

Nice food, calm space - Edit
A nice escape from the heat of that day, and cool calming space. The food was good, I had the pad Thai with crispy vegan ‘pork belly’ which I loved, an iced chocolate milk and a very enjoyable apple pie. The burger was home made and tasty, the fries were too salty.

All vegan treats - Edit
The smoothies & cake were delicious. Unfortunately they forgot to bring one of our drinks, even though we were the only customers. I would recommend going for lunch or dinner or just some cake, but not breakfast. Staff wasn’t that friendly and didn’t speak English too well, food & drinks were nice tho.
