So much fun!

SUPER friendly owner gives out samples to everyone sitting at the bar. Delicious fresh food and whole fruit smoothies you need to eat with a spoon. Makes you feel like you're a part of something. Great find!

Pros: Delicious food, Friendly people, Daily specials

Cons: A bit hard to find

Best vegan food on bird road

I love the fact that they have daily specials and the food rotates , always something new . Everything is made fresh daily. Homemade, healthy and filling . Tried to give 5 stars but happy cow won't let me since it's not a fully vegan restaurant (they only serve one tina sandwich everything else is plant based)

Food is a must !

Tried the flavors! Shall return for more fare.

Drove by and saw natural food store sign and stopped to check out, like the options in hand.

Tasty vegan food and friendly owner

I wasn’t a fan of vegan cooked food until coming here. I wish the menu detailed ingredients and prices for the hot food, but I haven’t regretted a single purchase. The side of hummus and chips is to die for! It’s so fresh.

I question the quality of some of the ingredients. For example, I saw them using Mott’s apple juice in the smoothies. I was expecting something more natural and organic.

Carlos, the owner, and a couple of the staff are friendly. The ambiance is older diner style. The place could be cleaner, but in the multiple times per week I go there it’s never horrible like I’ve read in some of the reviews here. They are cooking, juicing and making smoothies at the same time for multiple customers in a small space and in view of patrons. I’d like to see you do better. Carlos makes his own hot sauce out of papaya or mango. It tastes just like Tabasco sauce 👍

There are always soup samples and I liked all but the asparagus soup. To each their own. #Veganuary

Pros: Vegan, Friendly , Tasty

Cons: Addictive , Outdated , Confusing pricing

Great price for vegan fare

We last dined here in October 2018, and I wasn't a member of Happy Cow then. Otherwise I would have reviewed Beehive back then.
Today my partner and I shared a bowl of thick barley vegetable soup, and two of the special entrees: piconono (a TVP and tomato approximation of a sloppy joe with a plantain topper) and a slice of the broccoli pie (collard leaf was the " crust") with sides of black beans and brown rice.

Both entrees could have been served hotter, but the flavors were nice, especially with a little dash of their house-made hot and sweet sauce.
We also split a slice of the guava cake, which the waiter heated in the toaster oven. Oh, so good.

The glass case by the cash register is full of empanadas: jackfruit, corn and cashew, samosa, eggplant, and 3 or 4 other varieties. I will order an assortment to take home next time. No room for empanadas this trip!

With two kombuchas, the price came to $36 before tip. Very reasonable for a vegan lunch for two with beverages.

Pros: Diner feel, Lots of regulars eat there, Pick up supplies while there

Cons: Could have been served hotter

Hit or Miss

Had the Broccoli Pie, Asparagus Soup, and Beet Mojito. The broccoli pie was extremely bland along with the rice and peas. The Beet Mojito and especially the Asparagus Soup (probably the best I’ve tasted) were enjoyable.

Go for an Iron man smothie

Great place,we really love the smothies, the vegan empanadas and the the whole food in general.
The Brazilian guy that works there is super friendly with a great sense of humor.
It's good to mention that is time to go for a renovation, the place already looks old and sometimes dirty.

Pros: Great customer service, Good vegan food

Cons: Small place., Little dirty

Greatest Variety of Quality Vegan Food in South Miami

I am a South Florida native and I visit Beehive at least twice a week. Not only do they have phenomenal empanadas (the corn and mushroom ones are my favorite) but they have my favorite salad ever!!! The hummus salad is fantastic and their home made miso dressing may be the best part! Great spot for juices and smoothies their “Rainforest” smoothie is award winning and rightfully so.

Pros: So many good and cheap vegan options!!, Healthy/Homemade foods is a must for them

Cons: I wish they were open on Saturdays

Vegan Chicharrones!

The owner of this place is so friendly and loves his customers. The food in the cafe is so delicious, mostly healthy, but still comforting. Arroz sin pollo, all their soups, vegan chicharrones, and empanadas are my go-to! Their smoothies and fresh juices are delicious. They usually have cakes, cupcakes, and cookies available as well. I wish in the marketplace they had more vegan options available for refrigerated/frozen foods. But otherwise they have an ok selection for vegan products. I like that they sell huge bags of TVP and have the box cold brew teas that I love!

Pros: Great vegan options in the food cafe, Lots of supplements, Every tea you can imagine

Cons: Parking is tight,

Wonderful experience!

Don’t let the “low-end” setting fool you. This is low-end at its finest!! The menu is Latin/Caribbean and all vegan. The staff is so welcoming. I didn’t know what to order and they let me try a few things. As if the food wasn’t already good, it was totally affordable. You definitely get your bang for the buck. The empanadas, the soup, hot entrees, the cake, and the kombucha rotate frequently but we’re confident they’re all excellent no matter the day. They appear to be known for their cupcakes and empanadas because their supply was low by dinner time.

Pros: I can’t believe it’s vegan, Pre-order a vegan birthday cake, Low prices

good food, not clean!

i really went for the empanadas that i read about. i ignored the yelp reviews that the place wasn't clean since there were some defending them saying that the place is just old. the place is old & NOT clean. that being said, the food is really good, ALL vegan from what Carlos told me (i see it's listed on here as vegetarian only?) and well priced. i just couldn't enjoy it after sitting there long enough to watch flies crawling all over all the open containers of food that had likely been out all afternoon. (it was 4pm). too bad! :( see my full review here: http://cameraphonevegan.com/2011/07/29/beehive/

Pros: all vegan?, good food , well priced

Cons: food out at room temp, flies, dirty hands staff

Dissgusting

I have been a vegetarian for quite a while. This year I became a vegan and I am loving it!.However here in Miami is hard to find vegan restaurants that are very good.I consider that I am an excellent cook, and when I go out I am looking for the same type of food quality. I went to Beehive because of the reviews, and someone had recommended it. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT, I didn't mind that the place was small but it was extremely unclean.Every inch on the little place was a mess and down dirty. The guy at the counter had dirty fingernails. When I asked for a green tea with soy milk, the milk was rancid, the lazy Susan where they keep their agave was sticky and messy. I ordered an empanada and when I took a bite was frozen in the middle. If this place has some clientele, this people are desperate or they don't know anything about good food. I know they have been in that location for a very long time. They are in desperately need of a makeover and a serious review of their menu, staff and cleanliness. Horrible and painful experience...

I dream about this place

Its tucked away in the back of a little natural foods store. There are a few bar stools usually filled with talkative people. I grabbed a couple of empanadas for the plane ride home. Just down right amazing. Flavor explosions. The chef is great and friendly and will let/insist you sample everything. This isn't a place you can go with a lot of people, there isn't a lot of seating. Its awesome solo or just with a friend. Its a little bit of a drive out of Miami, but worth it. I was able to swing it before a flight! I can't wait to go back.

Pros: food, empanadas, chef

Cons: few seats
