Nice - Edit
A very good selection of different thai food, very tasty and reasonably priced. Very spicy for a western tongue but delicious. The desserts like cake and ice cream were not that much to recommend but not that bad either.

Nice Vegan joint - Edit
It had a nice selection of vegan Thai food. The deep fried mushrooms were as mentioned in previous reviews, really good, a definite highlight.
Read moreI had the Burmese tea salad and fresh spring rolls very refreshing and tasty. The mushroom Laarb was a bit disappointing as it wasn't chopped finely and seemed like an ordinary salad.
My banana, pineapple coconut shake was nice. I wouldn't bother with the blueberry cheesecake, it was not at all sweet and was rather tart.
It was nice and cheap but the seating was like a cafeteria.
Pros: good value for money, deep fried mushrooms super, good place to eat thai cuisine
Cons: uncomfy cafeteria style seating, blueberry cheeskcake disappointing

Who said that eating vegan is too expensive. This place offers great food for a super price. It’s all local and everything looks delicious. No plastic on the table. Great for our health. Great for the ocean.

Great service, excellent vegan food with quick turnaround time. We had the mixed beans curry with roti, papaya salad, and fried rice. ALL three were delicious!!

Vegan street food - Edit
Hidden behind the food market, an unassuming location. Seems permanently filled with foreigners of all kinds. Serves tempeh dishes — a welcome change from tofu. Hungry person could probably eat two dishes. Serves vegan ice cream too. Vibe is casual, street-food style.

Cons: Could have bigger portions maybe?

I visited Be Vegan with a Thai omni friend for lunch after visiting a nearby temple to make merit ... the food was prepared quickly and the presentation, quality and quantity of the food was great ... my Thai friend is very fussy when it comes to vegan food however she wants to return to Be Vegan to try other menu items ... Be Vegan is basic vegan venue with dry goods and very nice vegan ice cream

Cheap but Soulful Food - Edit
Tucked in a small lane near Chiang Mai university this small joint is immaculately clean, offers free water, has a variety of low price choices from Thai, European and American cuisine, has vegan snacks, sweets and spices. The staff is attentive and friendly. They speak reasonably good English too, and are happy to accommodate your special requests. We ate here thrice - tried spring rolls, temphs, deep fried tofu starters, salad,Massaman curry with rice, banana smoothie with coconut milk and oolong tea. Each one surpassed the other in its taste, texture and flavour. For us the portions were OK too considering the price.
