Basically fully vegan except the lunch menu - Edit
When we visited it was still marked on happy cow as a vegan restaurant, and understandably so as basically everything is vegan. They do have some lunch options that include meat unfortunately, perhaps to appeal to a broader audience. But for vegans in Catania this remains the best place to eat at as basically everything is properly vegan, including lots of desserts and a bunch of traditional sicilician dishes. We went about half a dozen times in as many days and would definitely recommend!

I saw this bar in a Youtube video and it became my main goal during my trip to Sicily to eat here 😅. And it did not dissapoint!! It was so good, so delicious 🤤. We had different pizzettes (we also took to go for diner haha), a croissant with chocolate pudding filling, cappuccino with oatmilk, canolo with chocolate, a bara and the tiramisu. I also took away some cookies and vegan biscotti to keep the experience going 😋😍🤩.

Went for breakfast and went back 90 minutes later for lunch 😁 Everything in the fridges is vegan. They have about 5 different vegan milks. Their lunchtime menu is split in two, the one on the left is vegan, on the right is not. It's a pity we are so far from the venue as I would eat there all the time 😋

I hadn’t traveled to Sicily since going vegan, so I feared missing out on all the goodies. However, Bar Dolcezza has an extensive vegan menu with all the traditional Italian dolci/dishes. The babà & pizza were my favorite. Highly recommend going here if you get the chance✨

I went here for breakfast and got a delicious chocolate croissant. Brought my non-vegan friend for lunch and made the mistake of getting carbonara. It was super oily and not very flavorful. Felt bad to give that impression of vegan lunch to her 😬

This place has all the things you would expect to find in a Sicilian café/deli, but vegan. Arancini are sold out pretty quickly, but they prepare multiple batches every day. You just need a bit of luck and some perseverance.

I very strongly recommend any vegan to go here and don’t want it to lose its vegan listing or else it will disappear into the sea of ‘veg options’ places when it is something special! For the come options at lunch there was a vegan menu with seitan and tofu dishes 10 options but they had an equivalent non vegan menu. All baked goods are vegan and delicious!

The 4 different pastries we tried were great, th tiramisu and canollo were good too. They also have a huge variety of lunch options, but only from 12:30-14:30, so unfortunately we couldn't try any.

Came here at opening on a Saturday morning at 7. We got espressos and 2 cookies (okay) and we’re about to leave when we saw giant brioche. We took one to go as we had plans for granita elsewhere. As we walked away and ate the still warm brioche, we regretted not doing granita and brioche there. Amazingly delicious, warm, and slightly fruity floral note - maybe orange? And everything was vegan!

Amazing place outside of the main city center. If you are in search for traditional sicilian, or italian food you've got the right Adress. They have ice cream, a bakery with traditional sweet and croissants. In the midday you can have lunch and eat all sorts of traditional pasta. If you want to have something for the way, they got you covered with a small grocery store kind of thing. There you can buy chips, soy milk and other small things. All vegan. Very friendly service.

This place is definitely all vegan and extra delicious! I sent an update to HC after speaking with the staff, so keep in mind everyone was limited to 4 stars in the past since it was labeled veg-friendly. This place definitely exceeds 5 stars for me!
Read moreIt’s a little bit away from the main tourist areas but well worth the extra walk. This places is jam packed with traditional Sicilian foods and baked goods made 100% vegan. They also sell vegan cheese and lots of vegan packaged baked goods. They also advertise vegan everywhere (all over the walls, on napkins, inside the food cases, outside) and they also advertise a vegan app (not HC) on every table.
I absolutely loved the savory item I got which was filled with sliced potatoes, vegan cheese, and olives … I could eat these everyday!!! I wish I knew the name of it. See photo with the heart I added.
The Baba dessert with rice cream was astonishing! It was like gulab jamun with sweet alcohol flavor. I haven’t had gulab jamun in at least 16 years and this cool “vegan cousin” version was even better.
I also got both vegan cannolis and a pistachio biscuit and enjoyed them. But I favored the savory treat and the baba.

The sweetest pastry shop. Nice, fluffy and utterly delicious croissants. Lovely cappuccino. I have also tried the two versions of cannoli that Dolcezza offers - divine! I tried the ice cream they offer - such a rich flavour! Thank you and hope to see you soon!
