Really good - Edit
I ordered mandioca cajun chips and a Jack bao, which was really good but a little smaller than I expected (the price is fair tho). Unfortunately, taiwanese beer was sold out but had the privilege to be the first client to try their brand new vegan desert (it's not included in the menu yet!).
Read moreIt was a vegan petit gateau served with mandioca ice cream and with what I think that was toasted almonds. Really good, staff incredible!

Recommendable! - Edit
They have some vegan options, including baos and yuca chips. The food is rather fast food as to the prices and portions, but everything has high quality and tastes good. Definitively recommendable to check out.

Couple of vegan options - Edit
They have two vegan options, jackfruit Bao and tofu Bao. Although when I went they only had the tofu. They were good and tasty, the tofu was tender. The sweet potato chips were delicious.

Interesting mix of flavours - Edit
Mix a bao (rice based bread) with a burger content is an original idea ! The result is pretty good. I really liked the sweet potatoes fries too.

Cash only - Edit
Have no idea about the food as it was cash only. Tried to take out some money from the closest ATM(100m to left). It canceled my card. 😔 Luckily I had a spare one at my hotel.

Okay Bao... - Edit
Tried both jackfruit and tofu bao. I liked the jackfruit one but not so much the fried tofu one because I'm not a fan of soft tofu. I liked the mandioca chips and the bubble tea better.

Nice place - Edit
The baos were nice but a bit too weird of a flavour for me to enjoy them. The staff were kind and helpful, place was nice.

Bao's on Festival - Edit
I tasted the Bao's before in the restaurant and liked them a lot. So I was very happy to find the truck on the Meo Mares Vivas Festival. They offered the tofu bun and the jackfruit bun as meatless option at the festival.

Original taste - Edit
Tried the vegan option of bao's burgers they have, the taste is really original, like nothing i've tasted before! I liked it! The portion is smaller than I thought but it was okay!

Tofu bao is worth your visit. - Edit
I was passing by this place and when I saw a tofu bao I decided to give it a try - very good find. The bao was delicious, fries very good (with wasabi mayo) and great service too. It was the first place I returned to upon my revisit to Porto.

Yummy Baos - Edit
Delicious bao! I had the jack fruit bao and the fries with cheese and caramelized onion. They also have a dessert bao that knocked my socks off! And all at a reasonable price for Porto.

So tasty ! - Edit
The menu itself isn´t very extensive, it consistes of bao´s (sort og sandwich), rice bowls, chips and salad. Everything is delicious and there a vegan option for the bao´s and for the ricebowl, just let them know you are vegan, they are super nice! I go there a lot of time, food is delicious! No vegan desert.

Great fast food option! - Edit
Speedy service, English menu, a few vegan options, the buns are amazing, rice dishes (if you ask without egg) not so much — quite plain. But in total good choice especially when nowhere to eat after certain hours!

Still hungry - Edit
This place does not have many vegan options (for example: 0 vegan desserts out of 7). They have 2 vegan Taiwanese burgers.
Read moreThe staff is very friendly and helpful.
The sweet potato fries were very tasty and crunchy. The Taiwanese burger bread was as fluffy as my pillow however the portions are very small for the price you pay. We tried both vegan burgers and we were quite disappointed and hungry.
This is a one time option for sure.
Pros: Nice atmosphere, Good side dishes
Cons: Tiny portions, Sauces lack taste

Burger was disappointing. - Edit
The place looks really great. The people are extremely friendly but the burger is not that great... the tofu is tasteless but the sauce is quite good (until you run out of it).

Different food, friendly service - Edit
After making our way to one of the best reviewed vegan restaurants in Porto (Black Mamba Burger) and finding out it was closed for vacation, we needed a plan B for lunch, and decided to give Bao's a chance. We are glad we did it! The stuff was extremely friendly, spoke good english and were very helpful at finding out if the food was vegan for us. We both had the Tofu Bao (it was my first time) and it was delicious and fluffy, however a little bit too sweet, in case you want to order less sauce. The salad was fresh and came in a pretty plate, but our favorite for sure were de Cajun Mandioca Chips: soooo crunchy and delicious. We would probably visit them again if we're back in Porto

Tasty vegan Taiwanese burgers & more - Edit
EDIT// We learned afterwards that depending on cuisine, bao buns can contain milk and butter. Please make sure to check before ordering Tofu Bao!
Read moreTucked away in a side street, Bao's offered us so far the most tasty vegan meal in Porto. Tofu Bao, Mandioca Cajun Chips, and Salada Formosa were the already vegan options in the menu, and the staff offered to make a vegan Tofu Rice Bowl to us as well. All food we tasted was prepared with care and was very full or flavor! (If you're not too big fan of spicy food, make sure to ask the rice bowl as 'not spicy'.)
Pros: Hidden away gem, Multiple vegan options, Very friendly & helpful staff
Cons: No vegan desserts
